We spent a wonderful 52nd Anniversary dinner here. It just happened that Tuesday is also 1/2 off on many choice bottles of wine and our server helped us pick one that we thought was perfect. It was also nice that since we didn't finish the bottle, they recork it and send it home with you - no need to drink it all!! Our meals were also so very good. We want to return soon.
Excellent value and most importantly the food was amazing . Dessert was fantastic as well . We had to add a fifth to our table at the last minute and they were very welcoming even at our last minute request ! Wine selection is very wide and ranging . Our party had five different menu choices and all raved about their food.
We all would go back again and again .
Nicely done by the wait staff and the Chef !
Very nice. Sweet wait staff.
As always, Le Voltaire did not disappoint. Excellent food, well-trained, friendly staff. The fish special was delicious, as were the duck, and the filet. Made for a memorable birthday dinner. Only distraction was a rather boisterous group at the table next to us.
Having lived in France 12 years, this was our first "real" restaurant meal in a French restaurant stateside since returning. While many of us need to budget this meal in ahead of time, as it's not cheap, the quality of the food makes the bill more palatable. We were already in Omaha for a weekend, and I had done lots of research to make sure every meal was a winner. Honestly, many of the upscale restaurants with $$ on Trip Advisor would have cost the same price for two courses as Le Voltaire did for three. Pictured are the duck (tasty and tender) and filet mignon (that has an up charge) with crab meat on top and béarnaise sauce- succulent). The brie Josette cheese appetizer with apricot cranberry chutney was sweet but delicious. The Gateaux de Crabe were superb. The dessert of the day, Pot de crème du café, tasted just like the coffee pudding/custard we used to buy in France. The crème brulée was like many I had in France but an even better portion. The decor is a nice balance of fun and lovely, and the tables are not as close together as I had previously seen online. We would highly recommend this for a special occasion. The other thing we appreciated was being able to eat more French, in staggered courses, so that dinner wasn't over in 45 minutes! Chef Cedric had great recipes and good portions. From the vinaigrette down to the crème brulée, we enjoyed every bite. Thanks for an unforgettable evening.
Excellent service and amazing food! This is my favorite restaurant, and the best place in Omaha for escargot. The wine selection is extensive and worth every penny. I always recommend if you want good French food in Omaha. Best creme brule ever!!
Delicious with excellent service. What else could you want?!?! We will be returning.
Best food quality/ value in Omaha. Always excellent!
Great food, great service and all at a reasonable price. Also, a very good list of old world
wines. Can’t go wrong: highly recommend it!
Great place to celebrate milestones. We love the staff the are so kind and courteous.
We are a fan for life.
As usual greatvservice and great food in a great ambiance
Toasted foie gras was amazing but the sauce on pork tenderloin was not what we expected based on menu description - was too sweet. Overall was good meal but table placement is a little too close and noisy. Better suited for expensive friends get-together. Not as well suited for date or special occasion.
I made reservations with a few girl friends. We were able to get in quite easily and it was our first time. We all really enjoyed the restaurant. The food was delicious and the noise was minimal which allowed for conversation. I immediately told my boyfriend that we would have to go back together!
Great service, received food quickly and glasses were never empty. Food love the little bit to be desired, portion sizes were small. I’m Beyonce was nice it was a nice quiet date night spot.
A lovely restaurant. Business casual or dressier. Food excellent—perfectly prepared and served. Reminded me of nice restaurants in France, but English spoken, of course.
Always the best, food and service excellent. Outstanding deserts, save room. Wonderful
French Onion soup and the best french fries in Omaha. Be sure to ask for Nic or Lisa.
They have an excellent house red and not to expensive.
Exquisite service, exquisite wine, exquisite food! What more could you ask for. Le Voitaire is a one of a kind restaurant perfect for that special occasion where you don't want to break the bank. Every single detail was perfect. We'll be back for sure!
Time and time again a solid experience. We continue returning to Le Voltaire because its ambience and personality are down to earth, quaint, and genuine. Food is classic French with a modern twist With their apps and specials. Always high quality food. Excellent wine list although I appreciate how welcoming they are to brining your own bottle. The service is attentive and efficient. Best of all, locally owned by a native French chef. Le Voltaire has never been a modern trendy restaurant. But I don’t think they try to do this nor need to (vs many Omaha places). What they do they do incredibly well. And there is nothing wrong with that! There is something refreshing about consistently great! We Will continue going back. And a shout out to Lisa, our server who has served us for many years. You are awesome!
Well, that was disappointing. One of our favorite places and food has always been perfectly prepared with amazing flavors in the past. Tonight was a bit baffling. We ordered the wagyu steak special. It was served cold. Literally cold. Which was bad enough on its own but made a lot worse by the fact that the whole plate was based around an herb butter served on top. Because the steak was stone cold, it just sat there, completely coagulated and disgusting.
When we mentioned to our very attentive waitress, she brought the food back to the kitchen. It was returned hot and the flavors were very good. I’m not sure why the kitchen wouldn’t have taken the time to ensure it was served properly the first time. I was also not super impressed that they appeared to simply microwave our previous dish instead of putting their best foot forward with a fresh attempt... but I’m glad the food wasn’t wasted and again it tasted very good.
All the above will sadly take the kitchen out of the company of the best places in Omaha, but the service continues to be among the very finest.
What a great find! This may have been my best dining experience in the Omaha area. From the wine selections, to amazing appetizers, an excellent entree, and the mango chocolate torte for dessert. A must for a special occassion.
Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. And the food was wonderful as well, I look forward to my future visits.
Wonderful french restaurant - friendly staff, quiet, great for casual dining or special occasion. Good selection of wines to please any budget, great food from appetizers to desert.
Simply one of the best restaurants in Omaha.
Le Voltaire has become our favorite restaurant for a quality meal at a reasonable price. It is the best value for the price in Omaha. We would highly recommend Le Voltaire to anyone looking for something different. The employees are all very knowledgeable and very helpful for making suggestions. Their specials will not disappoint.
We have dined here many times and always on special occasions . Our favorite !
We went to Le Voltaire for a late Valentine's Day. Our waitresses was fantastic. Very helpful with the menu, provided recommendations when asked, and was very attentive. Our food was amazing. We couldn't have had a better experience. Highly recommend.
This was my wife's and my first time to Le Voltaire. It was our date night, and we were so pleased with our experience! Just a great, laid back dining experience. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu, specials, and wines. She spoke the names of all the dishes in perfect French, which made it even more fun.
The seating is pretty close quarters, so we could definitely overhear the conversations of the tables around us, including the couple who clearly had enough cocktails before starting their bottle of wine. But that always makes the dinner even more fun. :)
They have a kind-of "prix-fixe" option on the menu which includes certain appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We didn't opt for it this time, but it seemed like a pretty good deal. Just another reason to return.
This was one of the first restaurants we were happy just taking things slow - enjoying the scene, the conversation, and the food. I'm very much looking forward to going back.
Thanks, Le Voltaire!
Great food, especially the brie. Carly was an exceptional!
This was our fourth or fifth time at Le Voltaire and we came away disappointed for the first time. The service was very good, but the food was not up to its usual standards. I had a very poor cut of rib eye that was half okay and half fat and grizzle. My wife's chicken was overdone. Our salads had almost no dressing and were very dry. I should say the wine was good and the escargot was excellent. To be honest, I'm not sure if we will return.
Our server was attentive and helpful, and the food (as always) was spectacular. We enjoy the small & cozy atmosphere. This is the kind of place where you feel very spoiled and leave full & happy!
A great date night. A favorite of both my wife and I. One of the best dining experiences in west omaha.
Not as authentic as we had hoped. The gratin was like wall paper paste and the bouillabaisse had almost no liquid on in.
The waitress was wonderful however.
Food is alway delicious. Service is always outstanding. Menu is diverse.
It was awesome as always. Great food, service, atmosphere and affordable. I love the price fixe at lunch. Lets you have a three course meal.
IMHO, the best restaurant in Omaha. For her birthday, a seafood special of shrimp and scallops with veggies and chocolate mousse for desert. I had a great martini, super escargot, the lamb shank cooked perfectly with mash with other veggies, and a special chocolate tart that would make your cardiologist flinch.
As always, Lisa's service was perfection personified. She is friendly, professional, knowledgable, and more complimentary adjectives.
All this came with a most reasonable price. You can pay more for a great dinner in Omaha but will not find anything better.
The food was well plated and delicious. The timing of each course was perfect. The waitress did an outstanding job and was very informative. It could not have been any better.
Great food as usual, good service, Nick and Lisa are very professional. Love the place
Food was good but not great. It has been a couple years since our last visit. Previous visits were really good and stood out. This last time was nothing special. Fish was a little fishy and the duck was just ok. Will try again in the future but no rush.
