Le Virtu Cucina Abruzzese in Philadelphia is bringing the culinary tradition and philosophy of Abruzzo to the surrounding community. Abruzzo is Italys most unspoiled area with bold and unpretentious cuisine created by the local fishers and farmers and Le Virtu is recreating those delicacies with locally sourced meat and produce with rare artisanal ingredients being imported straight from Abruzzo.
A unique menu that pulls from sea and mountain sources provides savory combinations that will not disappoint. The pasta at Le Virtu is handmade in house and the meat is slow cooked to perfection. For example, the maccheroni alla mugnaia is a hand pulled single strand of pasta tossed in garlic and extra virgin olive oil with hot pepper and pecorino.

Neither of us was very impressed with our pasta dishes, though the pork appetizer was phenomenal and the brussel sprouts and dessert were delicious. In the end, we felt we paid too much for what was a slightly above average meal. But maybe we just ordered the wrong things?
Le Virtu is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The food and the service are outstanding without its being stuffy. In fact, it's a very relaxing place to enjoy wonderfully prepared Abruzzi cuisine.
Absolutely beautiful meal. Everything was perfect. I would recommend and will be coming back.
Always love dining here! The food is delicious; they have the best panna cotta dessert! The servers and hostess are so friendly and welcoming!
Everything was wonderful from the moment we walked into the restaurant till the moment we left.
We like the new chef’s creations. Nice vegetarian options. We appreciate the vino alla spina- open wine. If it’s good enough in Italy, it’s good enough in south Philly! Very enjoyable evening.
Have NEVER had a bad experience at Le Virtu. The food is consistently great, the service superb.
Very creative and interesting menu and preparation. Tastes were wonderful and well presented. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. All in all an wonderful dining experience.
Good family holiday dinner
Excellent octopus first course; pastas are a cut above most. Thoughtful wine and beverage list.
