Absolutely wonderful authentic Italian cuisine. Staff from host to server to food runner to bartender are top notch, caring, and bring great suggestions to you. Extra stars for unique dish of sausage stuffed olives, hand made pastas, and great affordable wine lists. Extra extra stars for protecting staff and guests by requiring proof of vaccination for indoor dining and masks.
Amazing food. Great service. Never disappoints.
Staff who brought water and bread seemed annoyed that we asked for more bread.
He then asked , “well how many pieces do you want “ and this was awkward for us. We’ve never been asked that question (quantity) while dining.
Water bottle empty and we had to ask for more.
Cheese tray was very disappointing. There were small portions of cheese and small spoons that had less than a teaspoon of jam and other spreads.
The apple portion was minuscule (1/4 apple).
The cheese try had no crackers, breadsticks or bread to enjoy the cheese.
Waitress was a bit hyper and seemed hurried.
The ambiance was not relaxing.
We were grateful to have had the opportunity to dine here, as there rarely are reservations on a Saturday night. However, we left feeling underwhelmed.
Food is great. The staff is so accommodating/wonderful. Their outdoor garden and patio is lovely. Excellent wine list!
Can't wait to go back!! Nice outdoor seating, excellent service, and delicious food.
Great service and food in a classic atmosphere. I’ll be back again.
Excellent wine, pasta and pistachio gelato! Great service and atmosphere. A bit pricey but I like it they offer carafes of wine for those of us who have to budget
We had a terrific meal in a beautiful space.
Be sure to keep your dining experience to 90 minutes. Glad we didn't order dessert!
Our experience would have been 100% better if we had a different server. Absolutely terrible! He was very short with us, seemed agitated when we asked for the basics, and we still didn't get them, seemed like he was avoiding our table purposely. We actually received better service from the bussers-Go figure. Not interested in returning to this restaurant.
I used to bring customers and co-workers here pre-pandemic because it was a local favorite of mine and always reliable.
I hadn't been back since the pandemic lock down so it had been a while . A co-worker was in town and I brought her here for dinner and told her how great the food and service was and I was excited to be going back.
We sat outside and there were just a few other tables. The server came promptly came to our table and went over specials, etc.
The table runner brought the app but we weren't brought bread (no big deal.) I asked for bread and when she returned she promptly put the tiniest square of the house made bread and the thinnest half slice of Italian bread I have ever seen in my life on my appetizer in front of me and gave the same to my guest. No olive oil. I thought it was odd especially since they used to give a basket of bread. Maybe they were super busy inside and they did have two very large parties set up in the yard so maybe they were saving the bread for them?
Server returned and I asked for more bread and told him what we had received. He laughed and promptly brought us a basket of bread with a side of olive oil. Great!
Food runner brought entrees out and quickly ran: My pasta was piping hot, smelled wonderful. No offer of cheese at all. My co-workers entree (crepes) was cold. She had taken 2 bites when I managed again to get the runner after several attempts at catching her eye.
She finally came over and told her about the cold dish. She took it back. When she brought it back 5-7 minutes later, it was the same exact crepes including the one that had 2 bites taken out. They didn't even replace the one crepe instead it just got reheated. Very surprised at that move.
I went inside to get the check. The inside was mostly empty.
The server did take the crepes off the check; happy about that.
Maybe it was just an off night? I hope they get the kinks out that the pandemic caused. I will go back eventually.
Consistently excellent food and service. The outside area is beautiful!
Always top-quality food and service, and the menu has not appreciably diminished as so many others have.
Love this restaurant! By far, it is our favorite place in the city.
One of my favorites in Philadelphia. Wonderful dining experience and consistently excellent,
Great food great wine
I was totally surprised how much this restaurant changed in two years the first time I went everything was fantastic. This time the menu was very very limited and I was told it was due to the high prices.
What surprised me the most from this time and two years ago is the flavor of everything the meat was flat no seasoning very disappointing. The bread was cold felt like it just came out of the refrigerator. Thanks to the great wine we had.
We remember you. You came unvaccinated, were mad that you couldn't sit at the bar. You said we'd treated you as though you had AIDS, which was offensive. We act according to local mandates and with concern for staff and other guests. In response to a lethal pandemic. RE: the menu: it's larger than it's ever been. We removed one dish, Brodetto. Fish costs have gone up. If the meat wasn't seasoned properly, we apologize. But you said nothing to your server or our manager, my wife.
Poor service. No vegatables. Pork WAY overcooked - dry
Very nice outdoor patio dining. Quick service. Highly recommend the taccozelle pasta dish and pork ribs.
Everything about our experience at Le Virtu was exceptional. We had appetizers and a main course and all dishes were well-balanced with attention to detail, slightly rustic but elegant and sophisticated. The service was very attentive and friendly. We ate outside in their beautiful little garden. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Well done Le Virtu!
Superb in every way.
Very enjoyable evening.
Was there celebrating my sister-in-law's birthday. The food and wine was excellent. My wife and I are looking to go back soon.
Food was good. Bus boy service was great. Our waiter barely ever came over to us and seemed to have a bad attitude.
Great food and great service
Great place! Only thing, too many mosquitoes outside. But the food and service were excellent!
Food was wonderful service was subpar. Disinterested and inattentive wait staff
It was a birthday gift to my father who is of Abruzzi decent and he absolutely loved it
Great food and very attentive service!
Wonderful food, wonderful and safe environment, felt very comfortable.
If the weather is nice, definitely go for an outdoor table as they have a very sizeable and comfortable patio area.
Fun place with clever approaches to Southern Italian food.
The food was great. Homemade pasta and desserts were phenomenal in taste. However, the service, for what is supposed to be a nicer restaurant, left something to be desired.
Both the monkfish stew and the branzino were excellent, but the most notable part of the meal was the delightful outdoor atmosphere. I felt very comfortable during COVID times since the tables were far apart and the servers all wore masks. Well- done, Le Virtu!
We said it was our 40th Anniversary celebration
Waiter said you must be busy then
Sat us next to the kitchen so lots of foot traffic - outdoors was requested but not the table by the entrance …we asked to move which was apparently offensive.
Waiter was rude - thought he was better than everyone at out table.
Food was decent - portions average - left hungry - brought wrong desserts
Couldn’t even say thanks for celebrating your anniversary here - nothing
Drove an hour each way
Family is from Abruzzi - was super excited - won’t go back they don’t care about customers at all.
Menu should say bay scallops - there’s a difference
This place was okay but definitely did not live up to the hype. Service was a little disjointed and not particularly great (although I'll give them that this was post covid lockdowns and outdoors on a particularly hot day). The food was good but nothing to call home about. Drinks were fine.
Service was pretty good. Beer was bad, the lines need to be cleaned. Hair in the salad wasn’t our favorite either. We didn’t pitch a fit, and moved on. They kept both items on our bill. That’s their prerogative, and our reader’s decision on whether that was the “right” thing to do. Wine was good. Food was good, not exceptional. Given all the choices there are, not sure I’d HAVE to go again.
We went here to support a local restaurant that had enacted health and safety measures for Covid, and it was wonderful! Lots of outdoor space in the shade, tables well spaced, staff were always masked when they came to our table. And of course, the most important part: the food was great! We'll definitely be back.
The food was excellent. Maybe the favorite item at our table was the pork stuffed olives appetizer. Completely surprising and delicious. My only complaint about the food is that a lot of it is rich and heavy, and the menu could benefit from having some more vegetables or salads.
Overall our experience was fantastic. Loved the grilled octopus (polipo). It was sooo delicious. My friend got the taccozzelle pasta, & I got the tagliatelle al limone. I visited Italy just a month ago and felt like I had returned to these authentic flavors at Le Virtù! We also felt that the pastas were light enough where we didn’t feel uncomfortably full after. Finished our meal with some dessert which was also delicious!
