Wonderful, as always
My wife and I went to Le Vieux Logis for her birthday. It was outstanding in every way. The food was superb and the service was top notch and very friendly. A very pretty place. We had a great time!
A delicious lunch with authentic French cooking. Very pleasant atmosphere.
Le Vieux is our favorite restaurant in Bethesda. We lived nearby some years ago and returned on vacation to find it still the best. Great rack of lamb, superb wine list, wonderful service.
Good location with adjacent parking lot. An attractive French cottage type structure. Menu is French oriented but not with anticipated results. Wine list is meager as to quality. Service is very good and management seems orientated to success.
The food at Le Vieux Logis is great, especially if you like French food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent French cuisine, well prepared and served. Prix fixe is particularly worthwhile.
Perfect venue. Great food and great service!! We had a great time with a group of friends.
We enjoy Vieux Logis. Dependably good.
Wonderful old-fashioned elegance, great service, delicious country French food. Everything you hope it would be. Can’t believe we’ve never been here before, but we’ll be back.
I have driven by this restaurant for years but ate there for the first time this past weekend with my fiancée. What a great surprise. Fabulous food, superb service and cozy, romantic atmosphere. We will definitely make this one if our regular spots.
Authentic feeling French bistro with a ton of wonderful ambience. Professional and courteous staff, terrific Bethesda neighborhood location. Good, fairly priced French cuisine in a throwback bistro ambiance. Can be romantic or comfortable for good friends looking for an above average meal in an excellent setting.
Reports of this restaurant's revitalization are fake news. The dishes that came from the kitchen were lackluster. The owner spent our meal arguing loudly with her bank over the telephone from a few tables over. The wine we ordered was not in stock. So sad.
Wonderful spot with authentic food. More casual than formal atmosphere - but GOOD food! Always wonderful service. Will be back, as usual...
Food was superb, service a little slow. Great location. Overall very good experience, will go again.
Went on a quiet weekday night. Excellent service, excellent food, very quiet. Snails, Artisan salad, duck and mango vacherine were all superb as was the Pinot Noir. Would recommend to friends. And, they did not nudge us out even though we were the last to leave.
Greetings were good. We were looking forward to an excellent evening but we’re disappointed after we got our appetizer before our drinks. We had to remind the waiter that we ordered drink. That was upsetting but after the drink mishap things went smooth. Food was delicious.
We went for Valentine's Day. The food was excellent but the service was a little slow.
Nice ambiance with quiet live music in the background.
Enjoyable. Booth seating not that comfortable for an above average height male.
Not as quaint as I thought but will definitely return
Open table is sending this email to the wrong person. My name is not katzen
Dinner was very good. The dover sole was our first choice but priced at $54 it was too $.
We waited patiently to order dessert and when we finally did we found out that selection was no longer offered and should not have been on the menu - very disappointing! All in all it was excellent though!
Great food and a very comfortable setting in which to eat it. I heartily endorse Le Vieux Logis.
Great French cuisine adapted to American taste here and there! Talented chef!
The restaurant was very disorganized. We ordered drinks and they never came. We had to remind the waiter. We had several waiters who all seemed very disinterested from beginning to end, and it hard to get their attention. The plates were served to the wrong people. We will not go back again.
Food was just fair. Lobster bisque soup was very disappointing and the salmon was just ok. Corner seating is weird as person in one corner looks right at people at next table.
Poor service at a mediocre place. I went here for my Wedding Anniversary with my wife and two teenage daughters, during Bethesda Restaurant Week, and we all had the Prix Fixe menu. The food might have been OK, but was delivered haphazardly and cold. 2 hours and 45 minutes to get out, and my wife gave up on waiting for the last of our dessert and walked out (some anniversary?), while I waited a miserable 40 minutes more to get out of that place.
Flavors in my Salmon Croustillant (Crepe) were good, but the texture was bad - the crepe was dry and tough, and difficult to cut. And once cut, the salmon inside had been squeezed out like a yoghurt tube. And did I say cold and overcooked... Other food was OK, although my blue cheese (Stilton, Gorgonzola, Cambozola) loving daughter rejected the Camembert terrine, as it tasted like cream cheese. And what was up with canned olives plated with the Patê?
The dessert was a fiasco. Three of us received dessert about 20 minutes after the man course was cleared, which was already a long wait considering we ordered the desserts with our meal. But my daughters Crepe Suzette was missing for another 30 minutes after that - 50 minutes after our last plate had been cleared. And it was horrible - cold crepe with lukewarm sauce on a plate that was burning hot - clearly they put the cold plate on a gas burner after finding it sitting in the kitchen somewhere. Very bitter flavor and again a tough (and cold) crepe meant this was a complete disaster - and half our party gave up before delivery. Complete antithesis of a Crepe Suzette - which should be finished preparation (with flaming sauce) at the table, and eaten immediately.
In case you are wondering, although this was a Friday night, the place was only half occupied, so that's not a reason for the poor service.
We met friends for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to see it was Bethesda Restaurant Week that made the $25 three course meal amazing--both for price AND taste. We had delicious food and good service. Stayed two hours and no one asked us to leave. We enjoy this restaurant that is totally pleasant and comfortable.
Noise was not a problem here. Easy to talk to my party. It was a Thursday night, restaurant week, not packed. Food artistically presented and tasted very good.
Went there for Bethesda Magazine restaurant wee. A great selection. Had not been there in many many years but will return again.
We had an outstanding lunch during Restaurant Week - great classic French cuisine. They offer fantastic value and the menu was varied and interesting. Also the service is professional and unobtrusive.
My wife and I have been talking about Le Vieux Logis for some time and finally went for the first time. My wife really enjoys French food and we were not disappointed. The meal was delicious -- including appetizer, salad, fish soup and our two entrees, duck and chicken breast. The service on the other hand was spotty and very so/so, beginning with the coat check "boy" and inattentive waiter. The ambiance was very nice and conducive to quiet conversation.
First time back since it changed owners. Food was the same-passable but nothing special. The service was terrible. The waitstaff spends a lot of time talking with each other, huddled up by the “bar” and pay little attention to the customers. No one inquired if we were satisfied with the food. The hostess (owner?) disappeared and perhaps the staff left to their own devices aren’t professional enough to work without supervision. Or perhaps the new owner just lets them do what they want. They were all older men, maybe long time employees who have gotten slow and lazy. When we went out to the valet for the car, we had to describe it since he doesn’t give a ticket like everywhere else. It was raining and we stood without cover in the rain awhile he brought the wrong car. Then he realized ours was in a lot across the street. We grabbed the key and ran for it. Won’t be back.
a lovely dinner. We shared appetizers and desserts around wonderful entrees.
I love this place. The staff are quiet and professional, the food is authentic and delicious. We had a wonderful 3-hour dinner, with no pressure, no pushing us out the door, just a lovely French meal and time to chat. Thanks again to the staff and management, who obviously care about what they do.
We went here on NYE for our anniversary. The food was solid. Vegetarian options were sparse that night ( we emailed and called ahead) but it was NYE. We understood it would be a plate of what was a limited menu that night.
Cozy atmosphere, nice for a special date. The music (violin but w/ amp) was just a bit too much for this intimate space that night. If you’re not a vegetarian or vegan we recommend it without reservation and we plan to go again. Very good food and wine list and personable/attentive service without being intrusive.
Great New Years dinner!
Chef is a genius. Warm and friendly. Huge drinks. Fantastic night out.
Great food and ambiance for New Years Eve. Food was a pre fix menu and delicious. I highly recommend!
Love the quiet, cozy, intimate ambiance and the food never disappoints.
We ordered from the prefix menu and every thing was tasty, well prepared, and well worth the price.
