Outstanding! As good as Paris. We used to go to a French restaurant in Annapolis, and now, that's not going to happen again. We shared the potato waffle smoked salmon appetizer and they could have just given me a bowl of the sauce. I had the liver from the everyday menu, medium rare, and it was fork tender and delicious. My wife had the kidneys from the daily menu, and it was better than mine. What a way to be introduced to this variety meat. I cannot wait to see if they ever serve sweetbreads or stark tartar.
To me the wine list is a little California-centric but there were some very nice choices. We had a really nice 2014 Bordeaux at a very nice price. The entire wine list is very reasonably priced.
Apparently new ownership but this is a keeper.
Authentic old style white-table--cloth French restaurant, with traditional dishes, fine nuanced cooking, and engaging staff - worth going to again and again. Less homey than some, but far better than bistro ambiance. A real neighborhood and destination gem.
Always appreciate the chef's willingness to meet special dietary requests and he beautifully prepared and presented soft shell crabs without salt. What a wonderful birthday celebration with friends in a quiet restaurant with gracious and caring service......not to mentions the delectable bread!
Lovely restaurant with warm ambience. Food and service were wonderful.
Our choice for special occasions.
Very good service. Great food. Very good wines.
This was our third time here and we really enjoyed.
Four old friends with different palates got togetherfor dinner and everyone left happy. Best part was uninterrupted conversation at normal voice level while capable servers brought excellent food in the correct order and the correct temperature. Our pickiest member called it the best meal he’s had in years.
Love this restaurant. Charming with wonderful food. Has never disappointed us.
When you want amazing food -- from classic French to modern elegance -- this is the place to go. There is a regular menu and then a list of daily specials featuring whatever is fresh in the market place that day. Attentive service adds to the feeling of being pampered and treated as someone special. It is my go to place for special celebrations and for times when I just want an elegant meal.
One of the deans of the Bethesda restaurant scene, Le Veux Logis survives the turnover of lesser restaurants with an authentic French experience. The higher average check price is worth the food and service quality at this smaller dining room that stays quiet enough to hear your table mates converse. Evening specials give regulars a different choice than the standard menu, but the standards deliver for anyone seeking a fine French classic menu. Wine choices are plentiful and available by the glass so as to leave room for the price of desserts - both in dollars as well as tasty calories. Not an everyday choice, but special occasions should be celebrated here.
French food the way an older generation of Americans remembers it--lobster bisque, duck à l'orange, roasted crevettes, vacherin. Competently done. The salad of asparagus and goat cheese showed a touch of originality. Overall a comfortable place, far from downtown Bethesda's hustle and bustle; conversation was easy even when almost all tables were occupied.
Perfect choice for an 70th birthday party for a Parisian expat - classic french food with classic french songs quietly playing on the stereo. Excellent meal and service.
We had a reservation at 7PM. The table was not ready. We waited another 15 minutes after arriving. After being seated we waited another 10 minutes before the waiter asked for a drink order. We ordered champagne by the glass. One of the glasses of champagne brought to the table had food in it. The restaurant replaced the glass of champagne. The water glasses were not clean. One had food on it.
I ordered sea bass and the order was initially accepted. It took another 10 minutes for the waiter to tell me that none was left.
The food was ordinary especially when paying 60 dollars for the three course price fixed meal.
The experience for mother's day was a big disappointment. We do not plan to return.
We were not aware of the special Mother’s Day pricing of $62 per person.
We had a wonderful dinner, including the best beef bourguignon we've ever eaten. Excellent, friendly service. The $30 prix fixe is an incredible bargain, too. We'll definitely be back!
This was my first visit on a date and it was so nice for that. It was easy to converse and the service was excellent. It's a old school , white napkin, French restaurant where the waiters are professionals. Some of our menu choices weren't available but what we ordered was very good.
Excellent French cuisine in a quiet atmosphere.; tables far enough apart for privacy and good conversation.
Came particularly for the Dover Sole, which they didn’t offer last night. Food and service were fine but I couldn’t fully recover from dashed plans for snails, soup and sole.
Food is outstanding! Service was a bit slow, especially the wait for dessert and coffee.
Marvelous dinner with friends. Our appetizers, entrees and desserts were all exceptional, as was the service. We will return soon.
Wonderful, as always
My wife and I went to Le Vieux Logis for her birthday. It was outstanding in every way. The food was superb and the service was top notch and very friendly. A very pretty place. We had a great time!
A delicious lunch with authentic French cooking. Very pleasant atmosphere.
Le Vieux is our favorite restaurant in Bethesda. We lived nearby some years ago and returned on vacation to find it still the best. Great rack of lamb, superb wine list, wonderful service.
Good location with adjacent parking lot. An attractive French cottage type structure. Menu is French oriented but not with anticipated results. Wine list is meager as to quality. Service is very good and management seems orientated to success.
The food at Le Vieux Logis is great, especially if you like French food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent French cuisine, well prepared and served. Prix fixe is particularly worthwhile.
Perfect venue. Great food and great service!! We had a great time with a group of friends.
We enjoy Vieux Logis. Dependably good.
Wonderful old-fashioned elegance, great service, delicious country French food. Everything you hope it would be. Can’t believe we’ve never been here before, but we’ll be back.
I have driven by this restaurant for years but ate there for the first time this past weekend with my fiancée. What a great surprise. Fabulous food, superb service and cozy, romantic atmosphere. We will definitely make this one if our regular spots.
Authentic feeling French bistro with a ton of wonderful ambience. Professional and courteous staff, terrific Bethesda neighborhood location. Good, fairly priced French cuisine in a throwback bistro ambiance. Can be romantic or comfortable for good friends looking for an above average meal in an excellent setting.
Reports of this restaurant's revitalization are fake news. The dishes that came from the kitchen were lackluster. The owner spent our meal arguing loudly with her bank over the telephone from a few tables over. The wine we ordered was not in stock. So sad.
Wonderful spot with authentic food. More casual than formal atmosphere - but GOOD food! Always wonderful service. Will be back, as usual...
Food was superb, service a little slow. Great location. Overall very good experience, will go again.
Went on a quiet weekday night. Excellent service, excellent food, very quiet. Snails, Artisan salad, duck and mango vacherine were all superb as was the Pinot Noir. Would recommend to friends. And, they did not nudge us out even though we were the last to leave.
Greetings were good. We were looking forward to an excellent evening but we’re disappointed after we got our appetizer before our drinks. We had to remind the waiter that we ordered drink. That was upsetting but after the drink mishap things went smooth. Food was delicious.
We went for Valentine's Day. The food was excellent but the service was a little slow.
Nice ambiance with quiet live music in the background.
Enjoyable. Booth seating not that comfortable for an above average height male.
Not as quaint as I thought but will definitely return
Open table is sending this email to the wrong person. My name is not katzen
Dinner was very good. The dover sole was our first choice but priced at $54 it was too $.
We waited patiently to order dessert and when we finally did we found out that selection was no longer offered and should not have been on the menu - very disappointing! All in all it was excellent though!
