Le Viet Ratings and Reviews
The dinner was planned for an organization to have a meeting. The service was very accommodating in both setting up and with grouping the check into 3 different bills. The food was enjoy by all and other visits were planned to try more of the extensive menu. Some of the highlights were an edible bowl holding the fried rice, a family soup with intriguing flavors, make your own rice paper spring rolls and a variety of Pho.
Completely disorganized. Bad service. Bad kitchen process. Zero response to reasonable requests. Entrees for a party of four were brought to the table up to 20 minutes apart. In fact, two people in our party received their entrees, then the table next to us received theirs, then we continued to wait. The response to the question about this was "some plates take longer to prepare." This is not a new thing only known by Le Viet. And good restaurants know how to deliver to a party of four at the same time. Our waiter (from whom we did not deduct anything from his tip) said he talked to the manager. Upon my request as to what the manager said -- he told us that he hadn't really talked to the manager. Thumbs up for the secondary honesty. But I will not be going back. Nor will I recommend this to anyone.
This place does not disappoint. Every dish that they right out was delicious. My entire family ate everything on their plates. We will definitely be back. Don't skip the pork sliders as an app. Our table had 5 orders of them and we wanted more. Then our entrees came out and they were even better!!
While it had been a few years since I was at le Viet, realizing that it was within walking distance of where I live, I knew I had to go back for a return visit. It was as good this time as I remember it from before. I was quite pleased with the roll your own shrimp rolls. Good selection of cocktails, although it seemed too early to run out of lemons.
Menu was a typical Vietnamese menu. Food was good and prepared quickly. Atmosphere was much more upscale then most Vietnamese restaurants. We were there at 5PM on a Sunday so there were not many others eating while we were there. I would go back if the opportunity presented itself.
Standard Vietnamese food amidst nicer than average decor. Service was lacking. Pooled house but no one seemed to be looking after us. All was well until the server dropped out check. Made a party of 9 pay in groups to avoid paying the credit card fees of using 6 cards. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Let us know before hand so we can plan accordingly.
This was our first time at Le Viet and we were totally thrilled with our selections. We started with the green papaya salad that was pretty good but could have been a bit spicier. I had an appetizer size pho and it was so tasty! We had 2 orders of the summer rolls and they were very generous in size. Also, they were yummy. My husband had the spicy pork soup and he loved it. Even he commented about the amount of heat (they warned him before he ordered it and it was true to their claim). My son got the Pho ti and savored every last drop. I had the beef in grape leaves make your own wraps. Unbelievably fragrant and sooooooo delicious. This one is a winner and we will order it again the next time we go. The price is still really good for the upscale look of the interior. We would highly recommend Le Viet and will return soon.
The restaurant located in Viet town of Philly so there are close by restaurants to compete. What makes it stand out is the modern decoration and atmosphere. I am Vietnamese and the food taste authentic enough.
The pho was hot when came out and the spice was moderate as it should be (some restaurants make the pho soup very watered-down). My favorite was the beef carpaccio as appetizer.
I've also tried the delivery service on Caviar for the stuffed grape leaves beef and it was fantastic. Definitely come back to this restaurant many times.
It was just not very good. Food lacked flair, flavor and presentation. The dishes used for serving were very difficult to use in a family style situation. One of the dishes, grilled shrimp was just not well connived. The size of the shrimp was not jumbo or extra large and the number of shrimp was disappointing.
Came here for Easter lunch and we got a stir-fry beef and noodle meal and a shrimp rice wrap platter. 🍚 The food was excellent and well prepared. There's a ton of options on the menu. Large serving sizes and both of us left full. The wait staff were very attentive and the food arrived very soon after ordering. I highly recommend this spot.
