My wife and i are celebrating our 60th anniversary in two weeks and while we were staying in palm desert we went to le Vallauris
We couldn’t have picked a better place
It was great!
Food and service overall was very good and satisfying. I am cursed, however........no matter what restaurant I go to, I always end up near a bunch of loud, inconsiderate patrons. Such was the case this evening at this restaurant. When we first arrived, we had a most ideal table. About 15 minutes after our arrival, while we were beginning our appetizers, a group a six were seated at the next table. As I said, they were loud and inconsiderate. It sort of put a damper on everything to follow for us that evening.
Moreover, they were the only loud party in the entire outdoor room. If it weren't for those rude people, the experience would have been the very best.
Always a singular experience! There is NOTHING like Le Vallauris. It is the best of OLD Palm Springs and we never miss the chance to go when we're in town. The service is bespoke, the terrace courtyard setting is divine and the food is sumptuous. We are so grateful to the owners and managers for the warm greetings and for continuing this fabulous tradition.
Recommended by a friend for special birthday lunch and it was excellent. Food, venue, service were all fantastic!! Bon appétit indeed!
Excellent food, certainly the best we have tasted in Palm Springs. Polished, old-school service. We were made to feel very welcome
The ambiance is spectacular. Being outside with the trees and the lighting was such a beautiful experience and wonderful surprise when entering the restaurant.
The service was equally outstanding and we had great interactions with hosts and servers who were very engaging, charming and knowledgeable.
The food was delicious and we enjoyed all dishes but will say the Lobster Ravioli was a stand out.
It was an incredibly enjoyable dining experience.
We go to our anniversary dinner here every year. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food, service or staff. Staff is very knowledgeable with the menu items and when asked offer good suggestions for food.
Very reminiscent of the vibe found at La Colombe d'or in Saint-Paul de Vence in the South of France. The outdoor patio is gorgeous . . . ask the waiter how the tree lights are made for an interesting response. Food and wine delicious.
Le Vallauris is always a fantastic experience. As soon as you enter, you are pulled into an amazing hospitality experience. And the food is nearly unrivaled in Palm Springs!
Always perfect. Always a great pleasure.
Wonderful in every way
Absolutely outstanding. Beautifully charming restaurant with incredible food. Service was lavish, wine was delicious, we could not have been more happy for our anniversary dinner. We will definitely come again!
As always, the embiance in the tree shaded courtyard reminded us of eating in Provence and the food was just lovely. None of the modern mayhem of young chefs trying to out do each other with fancy bits of nothing. Just really good food, well prepared and balance of tastes and very appealing to the eye and the palate. Attentive service. One of our all time favorite restaurants for the complete experience.
Another memorable birthday spent at Le Vallauris!
Service staff and ambiance is excellent.
Caviar set up - well presented
Ahi Tuna App was good but we were disappointed as we’ve
Seen the prep and presentation many times.
Veal was excellent.
Gran Mariner Soufflé was perfect!
2006 Leoville Poyferre was a lovely wine too!
We will be back soon!
Thank you Paul and your entire staff.
Dennis and Christine
Excellent food and ambience.
Wine a bit exoensive
One of our very favorite restaurants of all time and it was terrific again earlier this week.
Glorious day. Our server, Ramondo was friendly and fun. Appetizer and dessert were the best.
Best brunch in So Cal. The food is consistently outstanding and staff is very attentive.
Comfortable pleasant courtyard, attentive service staff, extensive brunch menu, unlimited flow of Inexpensive Champagne. Dishes where well prepared and presented. pate en croute Was. Set good as was the shrimp.
At my wife's request we enjoyed our 44th wedding anniversary at Le Vallauris. Our Open Table reservation was honored on time and the staff treated us right. Wine here is expensive, but it was a special night. We enjoyed privacy during our dinner as the tables are far enough away that your conversation is your own. Worthwhile place to celebrate something special, but for a normal night out the price is high.
The waiter was charming and attentive. The garden setting was very romantic. The food was the best! Filet mignonette and halibut were perfectly prepared. But, toward the middle of the meal, black bugs were dropping down on our table from the tree above. One fell into my hair. We tried to make the best of it as we loved the food and we were still eating. We told the waiter. He made light of it. Well what could he do. The people at the table next to us were seeing the bugs as well. Sure hope they can fix this problem. We would like to go again but will probably call ahead next time to make sure the bugs are not there. Could be it's a seasonal thing?
Vallauris is one of our very favorite special occasion restaurants. Bruce the Solmmelier is truly the best. He is not only engaging and entertaining but also prideful of his craft. Bruce takes the time to make their impressive wine list less intimidating and cuts through any pretense. His wine paring and enthusiasm is one reason we enjoy Vallauris so much and will continue our patronage. Highly recommended.
One of my worst experiences in the desert! The only positive part of the dinner was the excellent waiter RAYMOND! The open table website doesn’t indicate if you will get an inside table or an outside table. The restaurant needs to indicate that to individuals making reservations on the Open Table site.
The host was rude and unable to explain anything and the evening manger needs to drop the excuses and make sure that the restaurant is properly advertised on Open Table.
Also, the food was barely adequate. Individuals can find better restaurants in the desert. If you visiting or live in the desert I would skip this experience!
Great menu! Meal presentation and taste was excellent! Service was very good but not over done. My favorite French restaurant!
On my top 5 list of restaurants in the world, Le Vallauris continues to exceed expectations! After it’s usual Summer closure, I’ve been counting the days until the opening this season. With a new menu inspired by the owners’ latest travels, I was excited to find many new exotic dishes to explore, along with many classic favorites I’ve enjoyed for years. But first, the ambiance. My husband and I sat at our favorite table outside on the patio, one of the most gorgeous and romantic settings one can imagine. As always, we were greeted by the exceptionally warm and friendly staff including our server for the evening, Chris, who was charming, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable of the new menu. She reviewed items on the tableside “chalk board” and helped us make decisions. We began with the tomato and goat cheese tartine. A delicate puff pastry with a sharp and sweet mouse that brought the roasted cherry tomatoes to life. Spectacular. We also enjoyed a new seafood “salad” dish with chilled mussels, clams, and scallops presented with beets, avocados and a strip of Nori with dashes of wasabi. The artistic presentation was stunning, and the seafood was vibrant, fresh, and bright. We followed two different lobster dishes as our main courses; the sautéed Maine lobster in vanilla butter with corn lobster bisque and the Maine lobster salad with passion fruit, asparagus, avocado, and baby frisee. The plentiful portions of lobster in each dish were tender and bright and perfectly prepared and plated. We couldn’t decide which we enjoyed most and actually subtly switched plates mid-course. Desserts at Le Vallauris are equally sumptuous. Favorites include the Tahitian vanilla crème brulee and the chocolate praline tarte with white chocolate raspberry swirl gelato. For an extravagant, delicious, memorable evening, Le Vallauris delivers on all levels.
This was my wife’s big birthday. I called ahead of time and spoke with restaurant to confirm they would have a special dessert with a candle. It was all set. I then called an hour before arrival to double confirm and repeated my request for a romantic table in a quiet area. I was told again all set and they would make it very special. We arrived and had to wait and the only table they had was in the highest traffic area for servers coming and going. They had no dessert and no candle. So disappointing. To add insult to injury, they brought us the bill and charged us for a number of items we didn’t order or receive. Couldn’t even get a manager to come over to discuss. So disgusted we’ll never go back and certainly discourage anyone from going there. My wife was close to tears. We finally paid the whole bill but left a paltry gratuity. Service couldn’t have been worse and they turned a special occasion into a nightmare meal. To top it off, I got sick that night from something I ate there.
Our waiter, Fernando, was excellent
The food is fantastic. The ambiance is very romantic, and it is great the patio has a cooling fan to keep the temperature down. Minor issue is there are summer bugs around.
A magical place. We go every year for our anniversary. Just wish it was closer to Palm Desert.
Sunday Brunch at Le Vallauris is beyond compare. From the moment you arrive, you feel special. The food is five star. The service exceeds every expectation. We cannot wait for the next opportunity to enjoy this desert gem. It was the highlight of the weekend for all of us. Class act!
As always, a wonderful meal in lovely surroundings. All the waiters are the very best.
I had dinner with two friends who are also clients. It was a perfect evening.
A lovely French restaurant. It spent our 13th anniversary there. We had Raymond as our server and he was wonderful.
We would definitely go back!
This was our 2nd visit to your magnificent restaurant. We cannot say enough about the service, food and ambiance. Although this was the first day open after closing for summer, you didn’t skip a beat. We had a wonderful waiter, Steve, and when we return, and we will, we will certainly request him.
This is my absolute new favorite restaurant. My husband had your Filet and I had your Halibut. So good!
Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
My favorite restaurant in Palm Springs!!
Brunch is busy, but Raymond right there with champagne poured and the menu board in front of us. Today again a difficult choice, but there was my Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon (their own done on premises!), and Donald chose Lamb Chops...two EXCELLENT choices as if one could go wrong here. The Escargots Ravioli was the very best and most unique we have ever tasted.
TWO hours flew by topped off with Crème Brulee as is our usual. The staff were all extra smiles today as the restaurant will be closed until September 13th and they have a great holiday ahead!
We both ordered the degustation menu at just under a hundred dollars each. The first couple of courses were fine but not exceptional. Both mains (fish and veal) were bland and unadventurous and instantly forgettable. The same with the desserts. Not a restaurant to recommend despite the hype and glowing reviews.
