About Le Vallauris

Established in the heart of Palm Springs since 1973, Le Vallauris located at the foot of San Jacinto Mountains has been the highest rated restaurant in the Palm Springs Valley since its inception. Owned and operated by the well known restaurateur Paul Bruggemans who was also owner of the Famous Le St Germain restaurant in Hollywood. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 and was owned by the owners of the famous Desert Inn which was The hotel in the Valley. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. It was a favorite place for General Patton when he was based in Palm Springs to stage the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The renowned Patio lined with Giant Fichus trees is THE place to dine. The Patio is cooled in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

Just because they have been setting the table wrong for 37 years is no excuse for continuing so stubbornly.

We love to go to Le Vallauris when we are in Palm Springs. We have been going there for over 30 years - it was our parents' favorite restaurant. This time we went with our daughter and granddaughter - age 6. Luckily, our granddaughter likes food such as smoked salmon, duck and profiteroles of course. We also had the Caesar salad, foie gras, sauteed lobster on gorgeous biscuits, perfectly cooked filet steak, and several wonderful desserts besides the profiteroles. Superior wine list of course. We had a great time!

It was our friends 50th. Anniversary, our guest sent the restaurant a floral centerpiece, they claimed it was never delivered. Also they forgot and had to be reminded of the 50th.
It was also another guests 85 birthday, the restaurant was informed when I made the dinner reservation, no acknowledgement.
We will never return.
Thank you

This is the most fabulous French Restaurant I have ever visited. Everything was perfect -- the atmosphere, the service, the cuisine, the bar, the music. My friend and I loved it and will always highly recommend it for everyone we know -- and don't know!

Whenever I head out to Palm Springs for a short vacation from Los Angeles, I always enjoy an incredible meal at Le Vallauris. The patio is always inviting. And the menu is always different. There is an incredible variety of appetizers as well as entrees that include chicken, fish and various meats. When I went for dinner I enjoyed the Stuffed Pear (pear stuffed with bleu cheese, walnuts end endive) and for my entree the Guinea Hen. Prices can be a bit steep at this fine French restaurant - but in my opinion, it's worth every penny!

One rude, pretentious waiter tainted the entire experience of an otherwise extremely enjoyable exquisitely prepared meal and evening of dining.

Fabulous food! We had the lobster salad. It was excellent. Enough for two as an appetizer. The whitefish was also amazing as always. The grand marnier shuffle was the perfect end to a delicious meal! Ginny and Willy served us and they were both very gracious and sweet.

Ever since we began coming to Palm Springs 3 years ago, Le Vallauris has become our favorite French restaurant. We were greeted warmly as usual by the owners and wait staff.

For our leisurely lunch, my husband ordered a sous-vide pork chop infused with truffles and leeks, with mashed potatoes. It melted in the mouth! For appetizer, he had lobster bisque and I had the scrumptious beet and basil gazpacho. My salmon on the $42 prix fixe lunch, was perfectly moist, cooked with olive oil, lemon, colorful peppercorns, tender corn kernels and vegetables.

A glass of Highlands Zinfandel accompanied the meal, with crusty sourdough bread, and three sorbets for dessert: coconut, dense and creamy, mango, tart, and pink peach, sweet .

We always rate this restaurant an "A". Not just for delicacy of cuisine, and calm terrace beauty, but the personal greeting. They remember you if you come back!

Magnifique! This very, very French restaurant in the hills above downtown Palm Springs is a classic, upscale restaurant located in an historic home. Valet parking, French waiters in white dinner jackets, live jazz-- its all there! The menu is fresh, exceedingly well-prepared and very expensive. Don't let that scare you. Appetizers, salads and desserts are large enough to share. This is a wonderful place! Oh, and French bread to die for!
This was a birthday celebration that did not disappoint.

Le Valerius is such a great old school dining experience in Palm Springs. Warm welcome, professional staff and the most beautiful outdoor dining in PS. We always say the menu could be a bit smaller with more attention to the dishes. But overall an amazing evening.

Maybe I went on an off night but I just wasn't all that impressed. I had the 5 course tasting menu and it was bland and uninteresting. Thankfully I ordered a good bottle of wine so that helped.
