Established in the heart of Palm Springs since 1973, Le Vallauris located at the foot of San Jacinto Mountains has been the highest rated restaurant in the Palm Springs Valley since its inception. Owned and operated by the well known restaurateur Paul Bruggemans who was also owner of the Famous Le St Germain restaurant in Hollywood. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 and was owned by the owners of the famous Desert Inn which was The hotel in the Valley. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. It was a favorite place for General Patton when he was based in Palm Springs to stage the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The renowned Patio lined with Giant Fichus trees is THE place to dine. The Patio is cooled in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

Stellar food. Lack of communication between people on the serving team. We were asked by 3 different people to Order pre dinner drinks after we had already ordered. Staff made “assumptions” about what we could and could not buy. They “cleared” the restaurant of flowers and candles around us while we were still having desert making it clear we should leave soon. We were
Not the last to leave and it was barely 10pm.

Worth the price. Service was outstanding. We started with traditional caviar service followed by escargot and entrees of lamb and chilean sea bass. Wine selection and recommendations were great. Always hit this place when we come to PS.

We loved it! We ordered the tasting menu and it was absolutely fabulous. A few nights before, we dined at one of Le Vallauris' main competitors, Spencers. We thought it was merely OK--good food and service, but an uninspired menu, the same =old same-old as other upper middle class restaurants. So we weren't really expecting much from Le Vallauris, since it and Spencers seemed to be in the same class. But what a difference! The food was innovative, very interesting, and supremely delicious. Our tasting menu consisted of a wonderful amuse bouche of smoked salmon, followed by the star entry of the night, foie gras presented in a creme brulee. My partner and I love sauteed foie gras and order it whenever we can, but this was a whole new take on it, TERRIFIC!!! That was followed by some choice pieces of Maine lobster, some delicious veal, and a Grand Marnier souffle, all excellent. Le Vallauris is the definitely the best high-end dining place in Palm Springs-0-better than Spencers and the overpriced Mr. Parkers. We WILL return when we're out in PS again.

We sat near the bar, and the Maitre D was our waiter, which was a bit strange, but we received excellent service. Food was great.

However, I highly recommend that gentlemen wear a jacket. I felt underdressed per OpenTable’s suggested attire.

The place to go for a great dining experience in the Palm Springs area.
Every course was beautifully served, wonderfully tasty and made from the best and freshest ingredients. Each course was a creation in it's own right. The stuffed pear appetizer was a taste sensation. And the sorbet trio desert was the best sorbet I've ever had and that includes lots of sorbet from France and the rest of Europe.
The service as always attentive and the whole staff is a pleasure to watch.
All are dressed to perfection -- with formal attire for the captains, dinner jackets for the waiters and chic striped aprons for the serving staff members. All of them operating as a practiced team.

Le Vallauris provides the best dining experience in the desert and probably one of the best in California.

We ate in the lovely garden setting. It is great for friendly conversation as it is quite. Food was outstanding and especially liked the fixed price brunch menu, with something for every taste. Service was very attentive. It is a place to go for an outstanding leisurely meal with friends or to celebrate a special occasion.

Wonderful food in a delightful atmosphere. Our table was in the patio as we requested. The service was very professional with no glitches or mistakes. Attentive without being fussy. We were surprised at the lack of service in the bar as we waited for our table. The matre de did get our drinks. The live music in the bar was very good.

Some of the negative reviews caused us to wait a long time before we tried Le Vallauris. That was a mistake. We dined there Feb 16 for dinner and were delighted. The warm ambiance, superb service and wonderfully presented food made for a great night. In my opinion this was our finest dinning experience in the Valley.

While the ambiance and service lived up to the many years of our experience of special events here the food was seriously below par. Our chief complaint was my wife’s Chilean Sea Bass. Actually the worst Chilean Sea Bass either of us ever tasted.

Quite simply Le Vallauris is one of our favorite restaurants in the world. The outdoor dining area is elegant, the menu is broad, the food perfectly prepared. The three course prix fixe lunch at $42 is a bargain.

Valentine’s pre-fixe dinner was a lovely night out. Food is outstanding and prepared beautifully. We are from Chicago, so we do have slightly higher expectations for a Service in a meal with a $94 price tag. We were not disappointed, per se, but some things fell short. At a restaurant of this quality, we are used to their laying our napkins on our laps, after asking if we preferred a black or white one. I was wearing black velvet pants, so given a choice, I would have opted for black. I ended up with white fuzzies. Charger plates were removed before we even ordered. The bread was unceremoniously dropped on the table without a comment of “warm French bread.” Service was a bit frenetic, but to be fair, it was Valentine’s and the place was packed. Proper dress is not a thing, a gent was seated in cargo shorts and dirty gym shoes. Sheesh! Typically, a meal starts at a place of this caliber with an amuse bouche and includes a palate cleanser between courses, and maybe a chocolate truffle with the bill. All those potential special touches, to raise the bar were, missing. There was an excellent combo playing music in the bar. It contributed nice background. The patio area looked dreamy, with trees lit by strings of lights. As to the food—which IS why we came, it was delicious. Ahi tuna tartare and lobster cocktails were superb, with lots of tuna and lobster. Rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and the veal filet with truffle ravioli was truly wonderful and cooked just right. Little slices of truffle were a tasty surprise. Creme brûlée was crunchy and creamy, while the vanilla ice cream (delice) with berries was a bit of a disappointment. The ice cream is not made there and was not anything special. We were disappointed to learn this after eating it. They had a “special composition plate” as a dessert item. Prior to ordering, we asked what it was. The waiter “had come late” and did not know. We suggested he ask. All in all great food that fell a bit short for service.
