About Le Vallauris
Established in the heart of Palm Springs since 1973, Le Vallauris located at the foot of San Jacinto Mountains has been the highest rated restaurant in the Palm Springs Valley since its inception. Owned and operated by the well known restaurateur Paul Bruggemans who was also owner of the Famous Le St Germain restaurant in Hollywood. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 and was owned by the owners of the famous Desert Inn which was The hotel in the Valley. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. It was a favorite place for General Patton when he was based in Palm Springs to stage the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite. The renowned Patio lined with Giant Fichus trees is THE place to dine. The Patio is cooled in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

Le Vallauris Ratings and Reviews
The outdoor patio was a romantic spot for a lovely dinner. Service was friendly and attentive, not stuffy or overbearing. Meal selections included country pate, fois gras, whitefish, & lobster ravioli. The fois gras was fabulous, country pate and whitefish were very good; but ravioli was disappointing. The raviolis were tasty in a somewhat heavy cream sauce, but the generous portion did not compensate for the dry, chewy lobster claw meat that tasted like they were reheated. Not what you would expect for the price.
Paul has always given the best and provided a great value. His restaurant has give me many wonderful gustatory memories. This is the place that you find the things you can not make at home. The food, service and atmosphere is beyond the limitations of the survey check boxes. (AND very reasonable prices.)
We love to go to Le Vallauris when we are in Palm Springs. We have been going there for over 30 years - it was our parents' favorite restaurant. This time we went with our daughter and granddaughter - age 6. Luckily, our granddaughter likes food such as smoked salmon, duck and profiteroles of course. We also had the Caesar salad, foie gras, sauteed lobster on gorgeous biscuits, perfectly cooked filet steak, and several wonderful desserts besides the profiteroles. Superior wine list of course. We had a great time!
It was our friends 50th. Anniversary, our guest sent the restaurant a floral centerpiece, they claimed it was never delivered. Also they forgot and had to be reminded of the 50th.
It was also another guests 85 birthday, the restaurant was informed when I made the dinner reservation, no acknowledgement.
We will never return.
Whenever I head out to Palm Springs for a short vacation from Los Angeles, I always enjoy an incredible meal at Le Vallauris. The patio is always inviting. And the menu is always different. There is an incredible variety of appetizers as well as entrees that include chicken, fish and various meats. When I went for dinner I enjoyed the Stuffed Pear (pear stuffed with bleu cheese, walnuts end endive) and for my entree the Guinea Hen. Prices can be a bit steep at this fine French restaurant - but in my opinion, it's worth every penny!
Fabulous food! We had the lobster salad. It was excellent. Enough for two as an appetizer. The whitefish was also amazing as always. The grand marnier shuffle was the perfect end to a delicious meal! Ginny and Willy served us and they were both very gracious and sweet.
Ever since we began coming to Palm Springs 3 years ago, Le Vallauris has become our favorite French restaurant. We were greeted warmly as usual by the owners and wait staff.
For our leisurely lunch, my husband ordered a sous-vide pork chop infused with truffles and leeks, with mashed potatoes. It melted in the mouth! For appetizer, he had lobster bisque and I had the scrumptious beet and basil gazpacho. My salmon on the $42 prix fixe lunch, was perfectly moist, cooked with olive oil, lemon, colorful peppercorns, tender corn kernels and vegetables.
A glass of Highlands Zinfandel accompanied the meal, with crusty sourdough bread, and three sorbets for dessert: coconut, dense and creamy, mango, tart, and pink peach, sweet .
We always rate this restaurant an "A". Not just for delicacy of cuisine, and calm terrace beauty, but the personal greeting. They remember you if you come back!
