Le Sorelle Porch and Pantry provides Mount Gretna with a unique dining experience. Few things say “home” like hardwood floors, a spacious porch and an abundant pantry. Whether you dine inside or on the porch, Le Sorelle Porch and Pantry will always feel like home. The menu features stick-to-your-ribs breakfasts served all day and lunch salads and sandwiches.
A popular favorite at Le Sorelle Porch and Pantry is the quiche of the day served with fresh fruit. Even kids will feel at home with a bear-shaped pancake or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Stop by for the self-serve coffee and tea counter or sit a spell for some local conversation. Be sure to check the specials board for the soup of the day, special sandwich or wrap and other specials.
We have frequented LeSorelle for both breakfast and lunch. They have the best crab corn chowder I have ever tasted. We have never had a bad meal there and the staff is super friendly. We recently had the opportunity to have dinner (byob) there on one of the special occasions that they open for dinner. That was a wonderful treat. I would highly recommend LeSorelle!!
The dinner was a fixed price with a choice of 4 entrees. I made reservations in advance and picked the entrees in advance.
It was wonderful. We were not rushed, service was excellent. The soup(crab/corn chowder) was perfect as well the salad.
Simple, nothing grand but delectable. The fish choices for myself and my friend were very good, just enough of a serving of fish with the sides . I did have room for dessert( a choice of 4). The atmosphere was quiet without feeling that we had to be overly reserved. We left , very happy, enjoyed the various art on the walls and planned on returning soon.
There is only one seating at 5:30. I took too long forsomeone to acknowledge us. We were seated on the front porch and waited 15 min. more for someone to serve water and open our wine. The crab and corn chowder is amazingly delicious! The salad consisted of fresh greens with cherry tomatoes and homemade balsamic vinaigrette which was quite good but the plate was too small. Entrees arrived at 6:55--a very long wait. We had to eat quickly, have dessert, and walk to the playhouse. Had someone waited on us from the beginning and kept things moving, it would have been more leisurely. The food was very good, but I'm not sure the stress is worth it.
We chose this restaurant thinking we would have a relaxing meal before the show at Mt Gretna. Afterall the fixed seating time was 5:30 pm for a 7:30 pm show. Well, we were wrong. At 6:50 pm, we still had not received our entrees. After a discussion with our server we were assured we had plenty of time. We ate quickly, gulped dessert, and at 7:15 pm decided we better leave cash for the check since we had no idea how long it might be to put it on our credit card. In addition, we were wedged at a table right next to a group of 9 celebrating a birthday. Well, it was so loud we couldn't even have a discussion most of the time. So much for a romantic dinner for two. The food was excellent. Well prepared and high quality. We will not go back.
The food was very good, but I felt bad for the one and only waiter as he had to do the entire restaurant himself. Fellow diner complained that it took too long. The whole meal did take 2 hours, not great if you need to go see a show at the playhouse. Probably better for breakfast or lunch, although I would try dinner there again.
Excellent service, beautiful setting, good food, quiet atmosphere, reasonable price. BYOB. You must make a reservation 2 days in advance because they do not serve walk ins. If you are seeing a show at the theater, this is the place to have dinner.
