Le Rendez-vous Bistro & Restaurant Francais Ratings and Reviews
Classic French--always delicious
Our family have Ben customers of Le Rendezvous decades and watched it continue to flourish as a classic French restaurant even through its changes from father to son and our changes from grandparents to adult grandchildren. Service is lovely. There is a more casual area and a small but dressier dining area that really can make an occasion feel special. Very adult; not for little children.
Horrible. I'v made 3 reservations previously that I canceled a week later, because the timing was not right for me. However, the last reservation, I actually decided to go. Took a $15 Uber & I get there just to be met by a random server outside saying the place is closed.
I HAD A RESERVATION AT 8:45. I GOT THERE AT 8:44. SHE SAID THEY'VE BEEN CLOSED SINCE 7:30!!
She knew that the online system allows you to make reservations till wayyy after the place is closed. She said she saw the reservation & tried calling in advance (LIE #1). All my reservations have been around 9PM. I have never received any means of contact from them. She seemed so unbothered by the fact that this situation was taking place. Almost as if it were the norm.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. STAY HOME OR TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE!
A wonderful experience. The last 2 times we ate at this restaurant, we were very disappointed. We decided to give it one more try and we are so happy we did. Everything was like it used to be before the ownership changed. Our waitress Alexandra was wonderful and Joe very efficient and friendly. We will be back
Enjoyed the food, the cocktails and the white table cloth atmosphere. We had Green Peppercorn steak and veal medallions with an apple tart and calvados based sauce.. Both were sauced with well made sauces and prepared to our personal preference of medium rare doneness...The Kir Royale’s before dinner gave us a break from a busy schedule and time to talk without any ‘din’ from a noisy room even though all the tables were filled. The duck terrine was a great way to start the meal.
We were looking forward to trying an authentic French restaurant for lunch in our new neighborhood, but were very disappointed in the service and the Steak Frites. While the meat was a nice cut and done nicely, the sauce was heavily salted. French fries were overdone and soggy. My wife's Salmon Nicoise was prepared very well, as it should have been. Waitress was forgetful regarding our requests. On a positive note, the Creme Brulee was outstanding, best in Tucson. Unlikely to return
For whatever unknown reason, we have not dined at LR for MANY years, so decided to return for a b'day dinner. It was FABULOUS, in every respect. The choices we made we thoroughly enjoyed and we look forward to going back again soon to try other menu items. And, we will try it for lunch as well! Hats off to the chefs and the service staff--terrific and WONDERFUL!!
We wanted to experience some French food in Tucson and took some friends along with us for our first visit to Le Rendez-vous . We were seated in the Bistro area and enjoyed the small plates as well as ordering from the dining room menu. The Beef Wellington was the best we've ever had. The salad with the pears and goat cheese was outstanding as were the wine and Crème Brûlée. We will make a return trip for lunch.
The service was gracious and attentive from the moment of arrival to departure.
The food was very good and well presented. The sauces are good, and the side dishes were very nice and not in overpowering quantities.
The restaurant tables are far enough apart that quiet conversation is possible, although conversation from other tables is often audible.
We chose this restaurant for our 49th anniversary dinner and were very pleased with our experience there. We selected their 4 course summer special and all servings were excellent. Our filet was very tender and the appetizers (scallops and encrusted brie) were very tasty.
The service was efficient and very attentive to our needs. We would recommend Le Rendez-vous Bistro.
Aside from a few misspelt French words on the menu, we found this Tucson Originals restaurant to be a wonderful find for carefully made French delights. We mostly tried the Small Plates menu (we did order a Saumon Nicois but was served two orders of Seared Salmon instead - which we loved). Will be going back ASAP!
Our first time dining here. I was conflicted in going because the reviews were so varied, often within the same few days. We found none of the issues other reviewers complained about to occur on our visit. Service and attention to us were both excellent. I had the filet, which is finished table side, making it very entertaining, and it was very good. My mom had the salmon and said it was excellent. My wife said the chicked was flavoful and delicicious. We splurged and shared a wonderful desert. We will definetley go back.
We've been there several times--food is always top-notch, absolutely traditional and exclusively French. The service was, unusually, haphazard. Not many people in the restaurant, but our server and other wait staff were inattentive, rushed, and seemed not to know how to serve. Very unusual for this restaurant. All other times I've been there, I would give them a 4 or 5 star rating on service, but not last time. It won't keep me away, but it detracted from the evening and when you're paying those prices, the service should be as good as the food.
My wife and I have been coming to Le Rendez-vous for quit a long time for fine dinning, celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and for just good food. This visit was very strange because it did not even approach the level of excellence it has demonstrated in the past. We believe there has been a negative change in the kitchen. The service was just "ok" (not up to previous standards) but the food was terrible. The onion soup was not onion soup and the duck was not thoroughly cooked. I could not eat it! We ordered a soufflé for desert and it just flopped at the table.
I can't describe how disappointed we were and continue to be.
This is the best French restaurant in Tucson. Food is always excellent and service tops. We visit this restaurant for many occasions and have always been delighted with the evening. The staff makes sure that you are happy and satisfied during your dining experience.
