Exceptional experience - food was great and the service was spot-on
We especially enjoyed the original artwork
Returned and great as always. We love the beef Wellington and escargot so much it is hard to order anything else, so we have to go more often to try other dishes!!
Is, and always was since the early 90's, my favorite restaurant in Tucson.
We went for our anniversary. Food was very good-maybe the best ever there. It was very pleasant as a quiet Tuesday. The beef was perfectly cooked. The soufflé is obscenely rich. Just a great time!
Food was wonderful. Nice ambience. We would go there again.
Excellent food and service
CHARMING. DELICIOUS. FRIENDLY. ATTENTIVE, BUT NOT INVASIVE. TOP OF THE FAVORITE RESTAURANT LIST!
As usual the food was excellent. We were very well attended to by Vanessa who was helpful and gave us the time we needed to make up our minds and enjoy a lovely meal. The moules were particularly good this time.
best French in Tucson. Filet au poivre is superb. Great soufflé deserts
I have going to Le Rendezvous for twenty years. The food is great and the wine list extensive. The prices at good especially the wine costs are very reasonable.
Nice place and food was excellent but waiter completely ignored us. Other room with white tablecloths seemed nicer
Love it! Our first choice for lunch or dinner always. Good central location from Green Valley meeting folks from North Tucson.
This a very pleasant, upscale restaurant with excellent service and a quiet atmosphere.
An authentic French restaurant in the middle of Tucson. I had a chicken & brie sandwitch which was very filling along with crepe suzette for dessert. The food was of high quality. The service was very good too.
There's no question that the food here is beyond fabulous! Fresh ingredients, excellent quality, and beautifully presented plates. The souffle (order it early) is perfect, as are all of the desserts.
The menu covers most traditional French food, which is as good as dining in Paris. However, the service leaves something to be desired. After two awful experiences (but the food is SO good!), we decided to give it a try again. This time, the service was at least efficient. The other times, they were downright rude or we were ignored. Be sure to "dress" if you're going there -- that seems to make a difference, even though Tucson is a very casual town. Will I go again? Probably, but not for a while. Would I recommend it to friends? Only after preparing them. One last bit of advice: skip the coffee unless you like it outrageously strong. It makes Starbucks look weak!!!!
We very much enjoyed our first visit to Le Rendezvous - we decided to eat in the bistro and made a meal from the quite extensive and varied small plates menu - 8 small plates were a good amount for the 2 of us to share. The scallops, shrimp, escargot, and Wellington were especially tasty! We also very much enjoyed our shared creme brûlée for dessert and the French wines by the glass ( both the white burgundy and the Bordeaux). Service was friendly, efficient, and informative. We’ll be back again to try the full restaurant menu.
Great food and good service. This is not your place if you are in a hurry. Very relaxing dining experience. Nice place for conversation. Mostly older clients.
I had a negative review for this restaurant last year, but we decided to give it another try, and I am glad we did. It was fabulous. The escargot and duck were perfect.
We had a wonderful meal, genuine French (as in Paris, France) cuisine with particularly interesting, well-balanced spices. Service was attentive and cheerful but not intrusive. Price was fair. Dining areas are physically rather tired — clean but dull — but the food is fresh and pleasing. We’ll definitely be back and tell our friends.
Awesome in every way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always a wonderful dining experience. Great appetizers and small plates. Main courses well prepared and presented. Service is professional and attentive. Our server, Simone, was spot on all evening. End the evening with a Grand Mariner Soufflé.
This is a longstanding restaurant that is one of the few truly french restaurants in Tucson.
This visit was for entertaining an out of town guest.
While it was good, and the service was very attentive, the food seemed to be less exceptional than in the past.
There were three different dishes ordered: scallops, crab stuffed shrimp and filet. All had very good sauces and great vegetables. However, the main courses were unexceptional. The filet was ordered medium and came medium well and not very warm.
While this has been a "go to" place in the past, we might not be in such a hurry to go back, and might try the other french restaurants first.
We went there on Valentine's Day, full house. We ordered $85 four courses, wellington beef bite and lamb rack was really amazing. Service is okay level, guess they were too busy on that day.
We had an excellent meal and the service was top notch even though the restaurant was packed for Valentines Day. This was our first visit but we will be back.
Valentines Day, great prix fixe menu. Service is always good. Food was great.
We moved to Tucson from the Washington DC area where there are many world class French restaurants. Le Rendez-vous Bistro & Restaurant Francais compares very favorably with many of these restaurants. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for French food in Tucson.
The Grand Marnier Soufflé was delicious as were the mussels and service. The cabrilla was swimming in way too much butter. If I go back, I will specify to omit or go light on the butter.
We went for a birthday celebration. Food was OUTSTANDING; we all cleaned our plates after sharing the house salad which was simple, fresh and tasty. Then we split dessert. Amazing wine list, we had a chenin blanc which went perfectly with the salmon. Jared, our server, was impeccable, knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. This was our first visit here, we will definitely put it on our favorites list!
As always, delicious. Gordon certainly inherited his father's touch with French cooking ... and has added to it! Delicious and beautiful presentations. This remains our go-to restaurant for family special occasions ... and just for a wonderful night out.
The food is excellent! Good range of choices, superb French Cuisine, very good wine list, friendly wait staff.....
Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal at this restaurant. My husband and his sister both had the duck, which they said was among the best they'd ever had. Our brother-in-law scraped his salmon dish down to the bare china, and our salads were yummy. Fantastic, warm and crusty french bread, too. My dish was the weakest -- a coq au vin but with white wine -- but mostly because it had a stronger bacon flavor than I typically like. It was otherwise well-prepared and the accompaniments were great. The restaurant has two rooms -- one slightly more formal and the other (our choice) a more funky bistro environment under a red circus-style tent roof with pleasant, dimmer lighting. A very good choice for a celebration dinner, too, with several parties celebrating birthdays or other events.
Excellent service. Quality of food did not meet expectation set by prices. Great wine list; mostly French with some nice international selections.
We've celebrated special occasions at this restaurants quite a few times and are usually very satisfied. This time, on our anniversary, was a bit disappointing. We waited much longer than usual for our food. My husband liked his steak au poivre but the canard Montmorency I ordered was not so good. It was rather too salty. I much prefer canard a l'orange. I love the potatoes but this time the portion was so small it almost was hidden under other food. The service was cordial but not as good as at other times. We'll return and hope for faster service and better food next time. I wish there would be some pork entrees.
Fabulous, as usual. It was disappointing that there was no lobster left at 6:45.
The Best French-Style Restaurant in Tucson. We've eaten here many times and it is our favorite restaurant for a "special" meal. Never disappointed!
I parked my car right next to the restaurant, probably the closest place to the entrance. Since it was a fairly nice night weather -wise, I left the top down on my convertible. When my perty left the restaurant, we found that my car had been ransacked with numerous items stolen. Even worse, whhile trashing my car, the thieves did serious damage to one of my seats, damage that I'm afraid will cost some serious money. I would suggest putting up a sign that thieves are in the area, adding further lighting to the parking lot, and putting up surveillance cameras with a sign to that effect.
Fun time, nice attentive staff, very good wine list.
Absolutely superb cuisine—as good as the best in France. It could be much more atmospheric (there was nothing at all French about the decor—not the music and not even a Lautrec poster on the wall). It was expensive but the food was divine.
My husband and I were visiting Tucson for a week and chose this restaurant based on OpenTable reviews. We found the service to be very good -- the friendly, energetic waitress answered all our questions about the food as well as several about the area -- and the food delicious. The potato and vegetables accompanying my shrimp dish were every bit as good as the shrimp. The main dining room we sat in was a little tired, but there's a bar/bistro area outside of the dining room that looks a little more contemporary. We will definitely go back here next time we're in Tucson.
Best pâté I have had in America. Great food overall. Wish I had this restaurant in my town!
