Le Rendez-vous Bistro & Restaurant Francais
Great dinner for a special occasion.
We are new to Tucson and have been looking for a true fine dining experience. While there are many good, large hip places, a classic restaurant w/ excellent professional service is harder to find. Le Rendez-vous has a great menu, well prepared cocktails and was truly lovely. We sat in the (better lit) Bistro. Main dining room is a bit too bright. Halibut was great; as was duck pate and spinach salad. Very reasonably priced. We will be back b
It's so nice to see Tucson support (the dining room was just about full on a Saturday night) the few fine dining (white table cloth) restaurants we still have.
They need to fix the air conditioning in the restaurant. The air quality is so bad that we couldn’t eat the meal. Seriously a problem. When we asked about it they said it leaks and was broken.
I love this restaurant but usually go only for special occasions. I should going for no reason other than I want a delicious meal. Our waitress was working the restaurant alone except for the kitchen staff. I was very impressed how she handled the whole restaurant with no problem and gave us great service.
This was my 3rd visit to Le Rendezvous, I have enjoyed every visit and will definitely go back again.
Great little French restaurant with a nice menu. Our party had duck, sea bass and chicken that were all very tasty. The escargot could have used more garlic in the butter.
The food was excellent - as always. The staff was friendly and attentive. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a larger table with friends. Highly recommended.
This was our second visit and it was a celebratory lunch. Our waiter and the kitchen were excellent at accommodating our guest's onion allergy. All three of us enjoyed our respective salad selections (beet, pear, spinach). My sea bass (Cabrilla Grenoblois) was suberb... I was sceptical of the "croutons" listed as an ingredient, but these tiny unctuous crunchy notes were my favorite part. The chef provided an over-easy egg on my husband's Croque Monsieur as he much prefers a Croque Madame - he'll be back to have this again! And the Birthday Girl enjoyed the seafood daily special very much; the thinly sliced and superbly flavored potatoes were a great accompaniment. How else to top off such a terrific meal but with their lovely Grand Marnier Souffle which was beautifully done and not too sweet. My glass of bubbly rose hit the spot for me, and my husband's Merlot from Broadside in Paso Robles was terrific!
The waitress forgot about our table about one hour later. Luckily we’ve been taken care by other waiter by that time. When I walk out of the restaurant. I heard she was talking about this situation to other customer. Not sure how she felt about this, I am not happy about it.
A favorite "go to" restaurant for a special occasion. The Beef Wellington and escargot are always exceptional! We had a special evening with great friends!
Excellent in every aspect. You can tell that the food is prepared with great care and with every course you will be amazed. Darn good food deliciously prepared.
Good restaurant for special occasions. Varied menu and very tasty dishes. Service is usually nice and well coordinated.
We had a group of 8 friends for a nice Friday dinner. Service and food were excellent. Our favorite restaurant. Love Gordon, Vanessa and Diego.
This was our second visit to Le Rendezvous. The restaurant was busy but our booked table for two was immediately available to us.
The service was swift, and in particular we were pleased that our drinks arrived promptly. We like to sip whilst we browse the menu.
The food was reasonably priced, well presented, delicious and arrived within pleasing timeframe.
We look forward to trying more items on the menu on future visits.
It was the first time for my sister and I. We were celebrating my wife's birthday. She chose the venue. She chose well. We all really enjoyed everything we ordered. The wait staff was a little short handed because of the season. This did not present us with any issues. Service must be great when the staff is at full complement.
Traditional french dishes made with fresh ingredients that offer mouth-watering depth. Make a point to enjoy slowly!
BEST IN ARIZONA ESCARGOT HAVE NO EQUAL IN ANY COUNTRY ON EARTH
best restaurant in Tucson---go once a month if possible---never have had a bad or mediocre meal---superb dining and I have eaten everywhere in world---John F. Krempen, MD, MBA
Not only was the food delicious but the service was friendly, helpful and super nice. We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday and enjoyed the evening. He was treated to creme brûlée with a candle. We left planning to return to celebrate my birthday there!
Good food, excellent “old fashioned”service, very nice ambiance.
Food is always great and service always wonderful!
The food and service are always excellent. You can linger with friends without being rushed and the small plates are a great way to eat light but elegantly.
Delicious food & exceptional service (thanks Vanessa). One of our favorite places to celebrate an event.
Only suggested improvement I have is to “up” the music volume a bit to help mask conversations at nearby tables.
Otherwise a great value; keep it up.
Excellent food, appetizer through dessert. We chose a quiet spot in one of the two rooms.
All wS excellent from arrival to departure.
We went for the summer special running thru 9/30 and we might got back one more time!
Le Rendez-vous is the perfect place for a special celebration. We were celebrating our 61st wedding anniversary and our evening at the restaurant was indeed special. Having the summer menu for two was a good choice. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Although a half bottle of wine came with the dinner these bottles were unavailable so we were given a whole bottle at no extra charge! This is the mark of a good restaurant!
We have been eating at Le Rendez-vous for years, and this was the first time we were so dissatisfied. The service was very slow, as there were only two servers for the whole restaurant, and worse yet, the food wasn't good. Although I ordered a glass of wine with our dinner order instead of when we arrived, and my husband's cocktail had already been served, after what seemed like a very long wait, I had to ask for the wine to be served so my husband could start his drink. The restaurant was very empty ( a bad sign), so I know that it wasn't because things were busy. Regarding our dinner, we both ordered the filet au poivre, (because the server said they were out of veal). The Potatoes Anna were undercooked, and the vegetable combination was strange (crunchy squash with squashed tomatoes). Only our salads were good. Even the bread served before the meal was a disappointment. It was a sort of hard, country style bread with a strong taste, and seeds, instead of traditional French bread. And the usual cold, unsalted butter curls were melting. All in all, we were very sorry that we chose to have our 46th wedding anniversary celebration there.
Another enjoyable lunch at Le Rendez-vous. The special, Halibut, was wonderful. Service always spot on. Great restaurant for lunch and dinner.
The food and service was impeccable. Could not have been better.
We had noted that it was our Anniversary when making the reservation. When we arrived we were seated at a tiny corner table near the front door. It was in a kind-of closed in patio. We thought that was odd given the recommendations we'd seen. After placing our order and having a cocktail, several people arrived. They were all escorted to a different area. I got up to see where they were going. Low and behold...a real dining room with linens and candles, as one would expect in an expensive restaurant. Why had we not been seated in there? We were dressed nicely...why?
When the waiter came back with the bread (albeit no butter) I asked why were seated where we were. He didn't answer but said that it would take a bit but he could move us. Our celebratory mood had already been ruined, so we just stayed.
Our bill was $197.00. I think that we deserved a table cloth at the least!
The food and service were outstanding, though the a/c was lacking. It was uncomfortably hot inside. Though I do recommend the wonderful food!
I planned a date night for my wife and this place really stuck out to me online. We recently moved to the area and I was interested in finding a real, quality, fine dining experience. Le Rendez-Vous is all of that and more. Upon arriving at the location, I thought maybe we were at the wrong place, it’s nestled in between a gas station and a yoga studio, and there isn’t anything outside notable to distinguish itself. That all changes when you walk through the main doors and see a well stocked bar, friendly and professional wait staff, a candlelit dining section with romantic ambience and classical music playing just loud enough to set the mood. The well trained wait staff were very accommodating and personable and very knowledgeable of the plethora of delicious dishes. The filet I ordered was cooked to perfection and my wife’s chicken was tender and succulent. The pricing is on par for the quality of service and quality of meals served. We will definitely be returning! 10/10!
This is a pretend French restaurant. Duck grossly overcooked and dry, with Montmorency auce watery and tasteless. Vegetables overcooked. Dinky soup portions. Soup didn't remotely resemble baked French onion soup. Entrees were not served simultaneously, even though there were virtually no customers. Had to sit looking at our food, waiting for all in party to be served. No tablecloths in the inelegant room where we were seated. Apparently you need to request that room, but OpenTable user wouldn't know that. Extremely uncomfortable and small chairs. Wine list serviceable. Service good and friendly
Great food and exceptional service
Food was excellent except the chocolate cake it was very dry, otherwise overall it was great.
