Beautiful menu, outstanding service.
We are never disappointed by the food or service at this neighborhood gem!
We have not been to the restaurant in years. Overall, the food was ok to not great. The cassoulet (sp?) was sub-par . . .The supposed duck confit in the dish was not confit and could hardly be cut. The sausage did not have much taste, dish was too soupy and not thick/creamy and tasted as if assembled on the spot vs. cooking for hours.
The salads were over-dressed as well.
The value and prices were out of sync as well. We love French classic food but we will not be back to this place. Sad to say given it is on our side of town.
It was a mediocre approximation of French bistro food. Also pricey.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is great! You feel like your are in France. However, the food is mediocre. There are other French restaurants in SF that are much better. Will not go again.
The customer service was exceptional, but unfortunately the rack of lamb and special garlic shrimp dish was overly salty. Additionally, the seared Foie Gras was not cooked completley through, so it was a bit slimy. I have Foie Gras any time I can, so I am familiar with the consistency it should be. I think by reducing the amount of salt in some of the main entree dishes, will greatly improve the overall flavor. And this is coming from someone who loves to cook and loves salt! I should of said something to the server, but it was a festive occasion and husband and I didn't want to upset the guest of honor. We hope that you will take this constructive criticism in improving the flavor. Thank you again for the wonderful service.
There was a new dish on the Prix fixe menu rotation----Prawns in butter, garlic sauce.
Nice to be offered something new and different and this one was definitely a keeper.
Very friendly waiter who remembered us from a previous visit. Made us feel very welcome.
Food excellent but the way we treated on our 29th wedding anniversary was way above what we expected. Totally an awesome experience!
Great food, amazing value. The French Onion Soup is the best!
Le P'tit Laurent never disappoints. Such authentic French ambiance, in a comfortable, unpretentious manner! Food and service excellent, as always.
The servers are incredibly personable
We had a lovely meal and the staff was very attentive. We shared mussels with french fries- delicious, coq au vin-perfect comfort food. Classic french onion soup and the soup of the day cream of spinach were both great. The butter lettuce salad with walnuts and blue cheese was fresh and delicate. For dessert- profiteroles...it doesn't get much better. The wine list complements the menu and the after dinner Muscat was so yummy.
Le P’tit Laurent offers standard French brasserie fare. While the food was not objectionable in any way, it lacked subtlety and distinction. I have experienced far better in other brasseries, both within and outside of France.
On the evening I dined there, I chose the three course prix fixe, with a chicken dish as the main course. The chicken was bland, lacking both salt and spices and I ended up leaving some behind on my plate, which is rare for me.
The service was polite and nothing more. Pricing, especially for the prix fixe, is very reasonable for San Francisco dining.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Not easy to find good French food. The escargot could have been better. Maybe they are out of season.
First time we visited the restaurant after moving to the area. We were really impressed with the ambience, friendly service and food. Will definitely go back.
Bass wrapped around spinach with a white sauce was delicious - steak aux frites very ho-hum. Tarte aux poires w/ice cream and caramel drizzle was outstanding....tres authentic.
Wonderful experience. Good food, good service and great ambiance.
Great neighborhood restaurant. The staff makes you feel welcomed.
Love this place! Like being in France !!
Le P'tit Laurent exceeded our expectations. We'd read about it in the Chronicle, and have been searching out good, authentic French food ever since our first visit to France. This was, without exception, the BEST, most authentic French cuisine we've found outside of France!
Le Cassoulet toulousain Maison, with Duck confit, pork and toulouse sausage, was as hearty and flavorful as it was abundant. A wonderful dish! Likewise, the Moules Marinieres with fries, was wonderfully flavorful and delicious. The Escargots de Bourgogne were good, though the snails were on the smallish side, and the dish was overwhelmed by the pesto sauce in which the snails are prepared. Not sure we'd repeat those. The french wines by-the-glass were dearly-priced but delicious in all respects, and perfect compliments to the meal. The meals were so abundant we'd no room left to sample their desserts! A mistake we won't repeat on our next visit.
The service was impeccable. Attentive and alert to our needs, yet we felt neither rushed, nor ignored. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely and homey. It felt very reminiscent of the better brasseries we've so enjoyed in , and outside of, Paris. We cannot recommend Le P'tit Laurent highly enough! We look forward to our next visit there.
Terrific as always from long time customer
But I do not like being forced to fill up this page by open table
Usually an excellent restaurant, but the night we went, the waiter was a bit off. He never asked my husband if he wanted more coffee, and he cut off the special description in mid-sentence, went to the kitchen and never came back to finish. He did take our order, eventually. This is not the normal EXCELLENT expectation I have of this restaurant. The food is delightful.
Delicious meal and great service! Very accommodating with no-grains, no-sugar diet.
Crab salad was amazing! Filet Mignon tasted too much like tereaki sauce. French Toast desert is simple the best!
A wonderful Valentines/ Birthday dinner. Food that brings back fond memories of French Bistros.
We had a yet another lovely meal - we’re very fortunate to have Le Pet’t Laurent in our neighborhood!
The service was great, everyone was very friendly and the food was good! It's a tight space, but the given room is nice and cozy. Some points of the night got really loud, too loud at moments, but overall it was a great experience.
Among the best neighborhood gems in San Fran. We've enjoyed countless meals here. Laurent the owner is frequently there welcoming guests and guiding his always steller servers, many of them French, giving the place an authentic casual Parisian bistro vibe. No gimmicks or pretense here, just comforting bistro fare always tasty served with a smile. Well chosen affordable wine list including many half bottles. You'll leave happy if you go here, also feeling great about supporting a well-run locals gem by passionate people.
Excellent food and very homey atmosphere. Laurent was very hospitable.
Friendly and attentive service from entry to departure. Food is good and servings generous, though not necessarily interesting. Ambiance is congenial and lively without being loud or a scene. A very solid neighborhood establishment.
As always the service and attention to detail were excellent! The foie gras was extraordinary along with the beet soup! A leisurely 3 hour dinner of great food, wine and conversation! What more can a person ask for!
Loved it! Amazing find. So quaint ...
The appetizers were delish, as were the desserts. Our mains left something to be desired. My mahi was pretty bland and rather heavy and rich, and the broccoli garnish was uncuttable; and my husband's coq au vin was tough and made with cocktail onions rather than pearl, which seemed a little off to me. I have enjoyed my meals here better in the past.
Always feel like family sharing fantastic food.
It's quite simply on of my favorite places to eat and share time with the people I care about.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Glen Park. A quick walk from the BART station this neighborhood gem is always worth the trip and the food is fantastic
Prompt and expert French style service adapted to American tastes (read: no problem if you want ketchup on everything). Sat next to a table with two drunk mature couples making insulting comments about my date and attempting to provoke a physical fight. We eventually left and the drunks held their heads low in shame by then. Not sure we’ll be back.
What a hidden gem this place is! Great food, great service! I love it!!!
This use to be my favorite French bistro and over the years it has been excellent....however the kitchen seems to have gone down quite a bit in quality.....the lamb was over salted, the mussels dried out and the cassoulet was poor....maybe there was a change in kitchen staff hopefully the quality will go up again.
Always a pleasant experience although the food can be inconsistent. The butter leaf lettuce was tasteless. The onion soup , very good. Cassoulet is always a favorite. Service was excellent.
