French Onion Soup
With gruyere cheese
Fresh lobster meat, asparagus, cherry tomatoes rolled in lemon capers drizzled. Served with champagne sauce green caviar and baby mixed green salad
As many restaurants have "faltered" during the pandemic, Le Petite has stepped up their game! We live in the neighborhood so have frequented it for years, but it was never our "go-to"...but it is now. The quality and selection of the food is excellent, and the Monday lobster is still a great value!
I can honestly say that there is not a bad item on the menu, but need to give a shout out to the mussels, the steak au piovre, chicken piccata, shrimp picante, the paella, and don't forget the shuffle to wrap it all up!
Jose is funny
Steaks were rare, even after sending back 3 times.
Lamb chops were overcooked and extremely salty.
French onion soup was extremely salty, cold and undercooked.
Lobster bisque was oily and fishy with the tiniest specks of lobster.
I wish I took photos, that’s how bad it was.
Came with my family for my birthday and I was so upset that I didn’t even want a dessert with a candle.
white fish with crust was excellent. served with delicious fries and spinach
We eat here for special occasions and it never disappoints! It is truly a hidden gem! Besides the fact that the food is consistently incredible…the dining experience is always fantastic. The staff are always welcoming, helpful, friendly and professional. The ambiance is lively, but not too loud that you can’t have a conversation. And the food…did I mention it’s incredible? Best chocolate soufflé in the city in my opinion…and less expensive than the fancy French restaurant a few blocks away. Please do yourself a favor and go here for a real treat!
Celebrating a friend’s 81st birthday at one of our favorite restaurants. Food was delicious as always and the service outstanding. A lovely, cozy French restaurant and part of the fabric of Sherman Oaks.
The only reason for the lower star count was due to the amount of sand in the black mussels.
At least half of them had a bit of sand in them which made the experience not as enjoyable!
I have had them many times and usually a couple will have some residual sand but last night it was a bit overwhelming how many had sand in them!
I enjoyed having French cuisine, escargot, steak and fries, good French bread, wonderful desert, Grand Marnier Soufflet
Delightful experience as always
A welcoming French bistro in downtown Sherman Oaks. Knowleadgeable wait staff.Large and varied menu.Extraordinary roast duck, great lamb.
Excellent wine list . Valet and street parking. We will be back soon
Wow. Why haven’t we been here before? The food was amazing. We are so happy to have found this little gem. Started off with the bistro salad and beef carpaccio. Entrees we’re the salmon and the crispy duck, my partner said the duck was the best he’s had. I have to agree as well with the salmon, best I’ve had. Finished with dessert, we had the apple tart (I would come back just for this), th chocolate soufflé and the bread pudding. All were outstanding, but the apple tart took the gold medal! We will be back

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Hope to return soon
Since we went early (6:30 p.m.) to be home in time for the new year to begin, there was not very much of a crowd. Therefore the service was outstanding, and they seemed to have a lot of take-out orders being picked up, which did not disrupt the servers at all.
An outstanding menu and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the lobster bisque with the warm french bread. The service was wonderful and people were warm and welcoming. Great for a date night.
Had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at a small French Bistro, was charming!
The salads were amazing and I loved the chicken Picatta. The lobster bisque that my son ordered was not to his liking. We order it a lot in restaurants so I'm not sure what was off but he's 6'8 and only took a few bites. His blackened salmon was almost flat (and dry) so another disappointment for him. My other son loved his filet and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Chilean sea bass. The service was impeccable. Great staff! Overall, a wonderful family dining experience.
Excellent food and service as always. It was a quiet night relative to our past experience but we went unusually early for us.
Felt like I was in Paris!!!
Le Petit is my favorite restaurant. That's why I Keep going back -- and this time it was even better with the Lobster and the special wine that introduced me to. Plus a special salad that they gave me with the lobster!!!
They were understaffed. Service very slow We sent back our onion soup which tasted like water and my duck was over cooked and dry. My friends had mussels which were fair. Not going back.
Went there for Christmas Day dinner. Great food. The staff was as a bit overworked but we were patient. Nevertheless, dinner was outstanding Everything was cooked to perfection.
Excellent food, great service. Definitely would return.
Excellent burrata and fig salad, French onion soup and lamb chops. Very good seafood paella and hazelnut torte
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. It was like having dinner in a little French bistro. The staff was very friendly and helpful without being overbearing.
Great place for romantic or close friends dining . Food was wonderful
Not our first time, and always a pleasure coming here.
My husband’s Roast Duck was served tepid, not HOT. This was a disappointment considering it was a special occasion, Christmas Dinner.
The restaurant has a good mini with lots of variety!
Our server was not very attentive to us (2 women in our late 60s). My drink order was not right, and we kept having to wave the server down for any attention to what we needed (ordering dinner, dessert, getting our check). The best service we get is from Peter, but he was off that night.
Service and food were excellent. Would definitely return/
I keep returning to Le Petit because it's my favorite restaurant
The food is the "outstanding" feature of this restaurant. The most overt downside is the noise level inside. However, the food is a 5/5 and the variety of choices is an added plus. I had the Monday/Tuesday lobster special and it was a dish I would order over and over, it was that good. The restaurant is small so I would phone ahead for reservations.
Thank You very Much for a great night !!! Food was great !!! Loved it
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is always just perfect and the service is also perfect.
We had a wonderful experience as usual. The food was delicious the ambiance was perfect the service was impeccable
We love this restaurant and have eaten there many times. Never been disappointed. Last night we enjoyed onion soup and Shrimp ( cooked perfectly) and roasted duck (delicious).
Jose’ is a genius 🍾🍾🍾
This our neighborhood gem. Great for both a weekday “fix” and special occasions.
