We always have a great meal at this restaurant. My husband took me there for my birthday and it did not disappoint. It was very crowded for a Monday night, so the noise level was high, but we still enjoyed our meal.

It is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Greenwich! The food is excellent and the service impeccable. It's small, bustling and runs like a well oiled machine. And in that way it reminds me of a New York Restaurant, which is the highest compliment I can give. I go to their other restaurants, The Fat Poodle and Le Penguin Westport as well, because I'm confident I will always have that same fantastic experience. Brunch, Lunch or Dinner..its always fabulous.

We went for restaurant week lunch and the "special" price was $39- which is expensive for lunch, but particularly so when you are expecting a bargain. The waitress seemed appalled that I even dared to ask for the restaurant week menu in the first place. The food was good, but not exceptional, and it was extremely noisy. It was not a good experience- I have been there before and so was disappointed.

Too noisy, and parties of two are seated near large groups, making the problem worse. Definitely not the place for an intimate dinner, or even a conversation

A very pleasant French bistro with a fairly routine menu, handled competently. Very pleasant staff. Have only been mid-day, once on Sunday (quiet day), once on a Wednesday (filled). I do think it's a bit pricey, but still a decent value and I like the atmosphere.

The food Is always great! The service is pretty attentive. The seating is cramped, and the noise is too loud. Some of the dishes are too expensive. And the list of red wines by the glass too limited. But for me, quality of cooking is the most important attribute, and this is why Le Penguin is my favorite restaurant in Greenwich.

Our favorite place to dine in Greenwich. Always a pleasure ( delicious food - we've had most regular offerings; great wines - servers always on point with recommendations; and bistro atmosphere).

Unfortunately we were very disappointed this past Saturday evening with our dinner. We were given a table that was squeezed in and everytime someone passed my husband and I were bumped and on top of that my chair was broken! Seemed like you only got treated well if you were a regular-would definitely not recommend! Food was sub par.

Le Penquin is a lovely local restaurant. The food is terrific! Service is efficient but could be more friendly. Lunch is nice as not so crowded and noisy. Best to reserve a corner type table. Love the salads and mussels. Highest level bistro!

The restaurant is not large; a small room that can feel intimate. We sat in the corner which was perfect. The noise was not a problem despite a number of larger tables nearby. The service was attentive, and the food was excellent. We both went with the specials which were good choices. The wine list is not a bargain, but had a good selection. We look forward to returning.

Le Penguin is a lovely spot! My daughter surprised me with a surprise visit from college. She drove 13 hours with 2 others so we celebrated at Le Penguin for lunch. It was the perfect spot for the happy occasion! And the food was fabulous!

The food was good but not exceptional. There are a lot of very fine French restaurants. This one is very good but the prices are too high for what you get. It is not that the food is not prepared properly; it is that the dishes lack imagination. There is nothing that you cannot get in any other simple French restaurant. The menu is simply boring. We never ordered dessert because there was nothing interesting to make it worth the calories. How sad. And P.S. coquilles st. Jacques should be served with bay scallops not sea scallops. It is the wonderful sweet taste of those tiny bay scallops that make the coquille so extraordinaire.

Lovely birthday dinner for my wife with our two older children. I would have given the food 5 stars however my bouillabaisse with a little light in the fish department. The portions for the others at the table seemed perfect.

Our second visit to Le Penguin since moving to the area and the food was just as good this time around. I'm in love with the Frisee salad as it reminds me of my childhood in Europe close to the French border. Service was a little slow at first but then the waiter seemed to notice he was neglecting us a little and made up for it during the rest of the meal.

Normally the meal is great. This time, the food was just ok. The mussels were of poor quality (good sauce) and the duck was overlooked (ordered medium rare and it was gray colored). Great service as always. We will be back but next time we will return anything substandard.
