Le Mistral Ratings and Reviews
Was looking forward to a great meal for my birthday. Very disappointing. Service was great, but no ambience whatsoever. My husbands steak was wonderful, my Red Snapper was mediocre, tasted mostly cucumbers.
Will recommend to a friend, hoping that our visit was not the new normal.
We've dined here many times and each time is special. The dining room has been remodeled and is much brighter and now with a large opening to the bar. The food was perfect. Osso Buco had a wonderful flavor and the duck was delicious. Le Mistral deserts are not to be missed. The molten chocolate and macaroon were excellent and the pistachio soufflé was perfect.
the entire experience was excellent. The waiter was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Had the steak tartare for a starter and it was very fresh, tender and flavourful. One of the best I ever had. Next I had the lobster pasta for a main. It was incredible! So much flavour in the sauce with large pieces of lobster. Far beyond expectations. This is an excellent restaurant and I plan to return. Very good spot for a romantic dinner.
The bread and butter were excellent. The mushroom soup was excellent. The escargot were average for a good place. The ribeye steak was average/pretty good, but not excellent. The salmon steak was also good but not great. The crème brûlée was excellent. I’ll go back for the lobster pasta and maybe the beef Wellington.
The wife and I wanted to enjoy an anniversary dinner that would evoke memories of an earlier trip to Provence . We were not disappointed. The food was wonderfully prepared with good presentation. The Champagne chosen to pair with the appetizer and the French wines selected for dinner were excellent. The evening called for dessert -- not normal for us -- and we were pleased with the selection. It was not overbearing and proved to be a light, but very tasty end to our dinner experience. Thank you, Le Mistral, for bringing back excellent memories by means of an excellent meal. We will return!
My companion and I were wondering why we did not come more frequently to Le Mistral, as it is in our West End neighborhood. We had a lovely dining experience in this very elegant restaurant. The food was excellent and beautifully presented in moderate European-style portions. BRAVO!
We have eaten here many times over many years. We were very disappointed in hrw. Choices were underwhelming as were portions. Service was barely adequate. No stop @ table to inquire about our meal or if we needed anything else. The one bright spot was due to several wines being unavailable , we were offered a substitute at the same price.
We selected from the houston Restaurant Week menu - the food was very good (as always) - service good. We only eat at this restaurant during Restaurant Week as their regular prices are outrageous. This is unfortunate, as we do enjoy their food and would go there more often if the prices were more reasonable.
Ladies lunch to celebrate a birthday -ordered from the HRWS menu. Everything was beautifully presented and excellent in taste. Carlos was a very good waiter. Special care was given to our friend's birthday dessert. It was a long lunch but we were never rushed and had attentive service throughout. Highly recommend Le Mistral for the cuisine and service especially for a special occasion! Definitely will return.
Service was over the top as usual. Atmosphere perfect. We ordered from the Houston Restaurant Week menu and my only comment is they need to put a little more carpaccio in the scallop carpaccio appetizer. The smear I found on the plate was very good but miniscule.
Everything about the restaurant was excellent. We were greeted when we walked in, seated promptly and the waitress serving us was friendly and attentive. The food was to die for. There were four of us and each person got a different item on the menu and everyone loved their dinner. we also shared bites and each entrée was excellent. I can't wait to go back!
