Very bad. When I got to the location it was closed due to "water issues". I have been waiting to have Indian at Le Mirch all day and was extremely disappointed. Ended up going to Lemon in Dupont, which thankfully, unlike Le Mirch, did not fail.
Surprised to find this gem for amazing Indian food in the neighborhood! Will be returning soon!!
Food was excellent and the service great. Chef came around and greeted the guests. Very cozy setting
I was visiting DC, and wanted a good Indian meal. The appetizers were outstanding. One was a crispy spinach dish that the waitress recommended and it was outstanding. We also had the octopus and that was delicious. Main courses were good, but standard fare. The desert, Jeb Galum (sp) was great. Overall a very pleasant experience
Very good Indian food in a nice atmosphere. Try the Epinards spinach appetizer and the Chowpatty appetizer. Both delicious.
Good is amazing, very flavorful. Lovely ambience. Would love to come back.
One of my favorite restaurants in DC! Everything is delicious.
Went with friends and it was a great experience. The garlic naan bread is some of the best I’ve ever had and we were easily able to share a few plates among the 4 of us. Great value for delicious food.
This was my second time at Le Mirch. The name tends to throw people off, once I mention that it's an Indian restaurant. The food is great. The service was great as well.
Whoever you are, you deserve a better dining experience than this.
Background music was too loud but the atmosphere, otherwise, pleasant.
Casual but elegant Indian dining at its finest. Not nearly as noisy as other very good Indian restaurants in town and the ambience was far less pretentious. But the food was outstanding. My friend and I loved it!
I found Le Mirch listed as one of the top Indian food spots in DC, and I'm glad I stopped in. While their cocktail list speaks for itself, the food has a voice just as loud. I stuck with the jackfruit curry dish, but turned up the spicyness, and it couldn't have been better. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality Indian food; bear in mind that the restaurant's atmosphere is a bit nuanced-- French influence coupled with more traditional Indian dining.
Good food. Just don't expect a fine dining type of place as the website pictures might have suggested. The food was very good, the portion was very generous and the price was very reasonable. Perfect for a no-frills type friends-get-together meal. Not too fancy, not too shabby.
A truly excellent Indian restaurant with just a touch of French fusion. The drinks are a delight, but the inventive and delicious dishes are the reason for choosing this hidden gem. Service is attentive and friendly, too. The spinach appetizer, momos, Rogan Josh, and Tandoori dishes are all superb.
The food and service was wonderful as usual. Our waitress was attentive and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time.
Excellent food and service
We had a wonderful experience at Le Mirch. The food was delicious. Everyone in the group enjoyed the dishes that we ordered. We greatly appreciated the advice shared by our wonderful server who made excellent recommendations at every turn. We will definitely return to Le Mirch soon!
Superb food and friendly service.
A friend and I had an enjoyable meal at Le Mirch. We have both logged a lot of years in South Asia and like South Asian food that has not been dumbed down for Western palates. We made this clear to our server. The momos and mango-glazed wings were both good. The Mirch Shank was excellent as well. The one disappointment was the chicken maharaja which was bland and tasted exactly like what we didn’t want—South Asian food dumbed down for Western palates. Nice selection of beers.
Very good taste. Perfect spicy and good portions. I recommend this restaurant for having dinner with family (grandparents and parents) because is quiet. Service was good.
Great food and good service. We enjoyed a family dinner at Le Mirch. The food was well prepared and nice, casual atmosphere.
Really well done all around.
Great Indian kitchen with friendly nonintrusive service. Was there on a weekday eve and the place was half full, so not too noisy. Definitely didn't have to yell across the table to talk to my date. Lovely!
Good saag chaat pork vindaloo okra
Tried to check in when we arrived, but the person who showed us to a table didn't care that we had a reservation. That resulted in our being labeled no-shows.
Her Lamb Biryani and my Pork Vindaloo were very tasty. Drink service was a trifle slow.
The chicken and shrimp curries were delicious but the crab appetizer stole the show. It was incredible!
Le Mirch offered a reasonable range of Indian cuisine. I often dine at Indian restaurants and found the food to be tasty but non-traditional. The black dal was drowned in a reddish sauce that was not to my liking. My goat curry, however, was very pleasant. My wife's chicken dish was unexceptional. The service was friendly.
I don't think I would go back but that is only because I have had far better Indian meals elsewhere.
i was hoping for something more creative, but the dishes were pretty much the same as at traditional Indian restaurants. Service was spotty. The bill was delivered before any offer of dessert. Nice surroundings, though.
Before LeMirch, this place had Polo Club - an Indian Restaurant. Le Mirch has renovated the place and made it brigther and more inviting.
Overall our experience was just ok. The cocktail - A ginger/vodka with some other stuff. Both my friend and I thought it tasted like sugar water with vodka - no flavor.
For starters we had Chowpatty and Masala Crab. Chowpatty was ok, Masala Crab was really good.
For Entree, we had Maharaja Chicken and Jackfruit vegetable. Chicken Maharaj wasn't bad. The curry was good; my friend thought the chicken was dry but not anymore than Chicken Kabobs in other Indian Restaurants.
Jackfruit vegetable was nothing special. I wouldn't order it again.
Indian food should be flavorful this food wasn't. I actually had a discount and still felt like I was robbed or cheated. I would not recommend this place at all.
The bartender had a great personality and had good recommendations to make.
Excellent food -- especially loved the lamb shank. The ambience is nice, and the service is friendly and attentive.
My wife and I both enjoyed the food at Le Mirch. Their Les Epinards appetizer, crispy-fried spinach/dates/almonds/yoghurt/chili/cilantro, is quite tasty, and the portion was adequate for the two of us. My wife had a vegan chick-pea dish that was a bit spicier than she likes, but good. I had a butter chicken-like dish that was also quite good. Prices were reasonable. The waiter was prompt, polite, and attentive. My wife didn't like the bar-like atmosphere--our table was across from the bar. I noticed some areas that could use a professional paint job, and a couple of places cried out for paint--any paint at all. The paper towel dispenser in the single restroom wasn't working, and the restroom itself wasn't exactly sparkling clean.
I had a friend in town who wanted Indian food so we tried out Le Mirch, and I am so glad we did. There was a 1/2 off all wine special so we took advantage and selected a bottle from their extensive selection. The appetizers were full of Indian flavors but not the typical items you see at most Indian restaurants. We ordered curries for dinner with Naan and all was delicious. I would definately recommend this place to anyone in the mood for Indian but not necessary in the mood for your average Indian fare.
The waiter was out of place and very disrespectful. He pretty much spoiled the mood for us. Otherwise, the dishes were OK and ambiance was alright. Nothing great about this place.
I had the lamb kabobs. They were tough and overdone. Not the best place in DC to eat.
Wonderful food, great presentation, unique and modern Indian
We were a group of four: three adults and one teenager, who was less keen on the spicy food. As a whole, if you like good food, it's a great place. The dishes were excellent, rich in tastes, beautiful and fun for us adults.
The teenager was less keen on the food.
The service was very good, and as we had a quiet table upstairs, we could talk quietly without having to speak up.
