Le Midi Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I was here for lunch with some friends during the week. It was quite empty so there were no problems with service or the noise level. We all enjoyed the overall ambiance of the space. We all ordered the price fixe lunch and were very happy with our choices which included carrot soup, loup du mer (sea bass) and steak frites. I would definitely return.
I had a FABULOUS experience @ Le Midi ~ The waiter was attentive & friendly ~ the food, T&T, & Bordeaux were superb ~ AND there was plenty of easy space to enjoy the company of my friend ~ I have already recommended Le Midi to a few of my friends. Le Midi ~ Bravo! Merci Beaucoups!
Service was very friendly and very good. The shrimp cocktail was no bargain. The cocktail sauce was weak. The escargot were very tasty. I enjoyed the Beef Bourguignon, but it wasn't all that great. Not a romantic date spot, but the place is simple and has cool art on the wall.
I always forget about this place as it is just off of Union Sq. When I select french on the open table site I see it and remember how good the food is and great service. If you enjoy french cuisine and a large restaurant where the tables are not so on top of each other and a lovely wine list then this is the place the cheese plate was lovely , we were there with friends and everyone enjoyed the meal will go back soon
The place was very big and open, the waiter was great and the food was very very good. The escargot were perfectly cooked and so was the duck for the duck salad, the risotto and the beef bourginon were great. They also had a great happy hour wine list so for only $24 you can get a great bottle of wine. Overall I had a great time in a great place. We were never rushed and the pace of the meal was perfect.
This restaurant is quite the neighborhood gem! The food is really delicious and the fixed price meals are really a great deal. I personally love the Salmon, however my friend ordered the steak and loved it!
I definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try!
I've enjoyed several meals at Le Midi is recent weeks, and each was very enjoyable. The dinner menu offers a nice variety of appealing options, and the wine menu is notable for value -- high quality at very reasonable prices. I not only recommend this place to friends, I bring friends here. Love the subtitled movie classics playing on the huge screen above the bar!
I have had lunch with friends several times at Le Midi and have never been disappointed. Their summer salad lunches are generous and well prepared (the pepper crusted tuna in my salade niçoise was perfectly cooked to my request) and their winter offerings, including some very traditional French standards like coq au vin, are equally appealing. It's never too crowded at lunch time so the atmosphere is delightfully calm. I will be back.
The Maitre D, Ronnie, was excellent. My party had two people with health issues, so I visited the day before to make sure we had the best table to accommodate them. She went out of her way to find the best spot & remembered me and our needs when we came to dinner the next day. The waitress (whose name I unfortunately did not get) was equally considerate and welcoming. Plus the prix fixe is very reasonably priced. All of this added immeasurably to our having a very pleasant dinner.
Our group was getting together for girls night out. Two of us got there early for happy hours. But saw a sign posted for cash only for that evening due to problem with internet. For HH, we started a bottle of white wine $24, and a dozen of $1 oysters for sharing. Another person joined us we ordered another bottle of wine since we had a selection to choose from the HH menu. We then moved to the dining area for the early bird dinner $25 with soup or salad, entree: sea bass, coq au vin, streak fri, sorbet, ice cream, Carmel or rice pudding. The portion is small but filling. The dining area was quiet with a few tables our group of five was the big group. The bar was full but calm. Probably quiet for the evening since the place is cash only for the evening. Overall great experience, the 2 wait staff were nice & attentive. The hostess even checked on a few times about the oysters. Plan to come back when it's not as hot out in the summer.
We live a block away from Le Midi and have been dining there since it opened. To judge by last night, the restaurant has finally hit its stride. We were both happy with our two courses ( we don't eat desert). And we took advantage of the Sunday night half price deal on bottles of wine. We chose a 2010 Grand Cru Saint Emilion, which was (no surprise) delicious, even more so at half price. The service was great as well.
Restaurant was nice. Had the precise menu, enough food in 3 course meal. I had steak, they mess up on the temperature of my steak ( medium /well instead of medium /rare), but it was still tender for me. Place a little loud and people at the bar kept bumping in to my chair during the happy hour. Service was good.
