Le Grand Bistro Americain Ratings and Reviews
The main course was amazing. The rack of lamb was worth every penny. Our server took forever and a couple of times had to be reminded after several minutes that we haven't received our cocktails. Then getting the check so we could leave also took forever but again the main course was amazing and we would love to go back again soon.
We dined here for date night and everything about our experience was top notch. I had the pepper crusted new York steak, cooked medium rare with truffle butter whipped potatoes. My wife had a flavorful rack of lamb with a crust perfectly seared on the outside and juicy on the inside. Tender and robust. The steamed clams were so good we had them bring us more bread to sop up the broth. The view of the boats in the marina from our window side booth made the ambiance memorable. We spent a lot of money for a great dinner that we felt was so worth it we ended up tipping 40%. Le Grand isn't something we can afford too often, but will be the first choice for future date nights. When you find perfection theres no need to search any further. In one word our experience was absolutely ENCHANTING.
I think brunch was mediocre, but I imagine their lunch and dinner items would be a lot better. It was those items on the menu that sounded really appetizing. The view was amazing. Very nice ambiance. Service was solid until the restaurant started to pick up a bit near the tail end of our meal, and then our server was a bit less attentive.
After my most recent lunch at Le Grand I’m reluctant to recommend it or return. I’ve always enjoyed the meal, service, & value in the past. Could it be there’s a new chef? This visit was a bad experience. I ordered a French Dip which came on a soft hot dog sized bun, not what I’d expect for a traditional sandwich. It was soggy after dipping in the bland au jus. The beef was tender enough but it was sparse. The second half sandwich was cold by the time I’d finished the first half.
At our Xmas eve visit, we were given an envelope containing a discount voucher to use towards dinner during January ranging anywhere from $15 - $500. The waiter opened it after our meal and to much drama and anticipation, revealed $20 discount! We were planning on returning at some point, but a great idea to encourage customers to dine in the new year! Once again, a delicious meal and impeccable service.
Wanted to try somewhere new. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu choices and wine list. Service was very good and everyone was smiling and friendly. The food was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to any one.
We went to Le Grand for my Christmas Eve birthday. We had not been before and chose to go there as they have duck on the menu. It did not disappoint and was cooked perfectly. The other meals were also very good and I would highly recommend the charcuterie and fromage platter appetizers.
Altogether a very enjoyable family meal and will definitely be returning for more duck!
Excellent French based menu with good variety of dishes and reasonable price range. Oyster & Prawn sampler was amazingly fresh. All courses were great. I had the Ling Cod special and my wife had the Wagu steak which was so good, along with a cute little iron skillet of scalloped potatoes.
The service was also great. Joe was very helpful with the menu and gave us plenty of time for great conversation with friends. He made us all feel at home.
We'll be back.
Our experience here was very good. The food is creative but mostly traditional and met our expectations. The service was good but not outstanding. For example, we ordered a sampler of oysters, which were amazing, but we had to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to tell us what oysters we got. Over all, I would still come back here.
Loved the unique menu choices that aren't available at other brunch places: Oeufs en meurette was delicious and so was the quiche made with duck confit. Loved the music and that fact we could hold a conversation across our table for 6 and not have to shout to be heard!
There for Restaurant Week. Really nice selection of choices offered- steak, steelhead, mussels, sausage dish. I got the mussels and frites main dish and the mussels were great however the frites were terrible. They double-fry them and they taste like reheated McDonalds fries. They brought me a fresh cooked portion, but they were just as bad. Great service though!
Nice waterfront window booths and tables with a view across Lake Washington to Seattle. We were there during Seattle Restaurant week, so the prices were exemplary. We just had salads which were very fresh, not too huge but plenty for lunch. Given a midweek lunch, the crowd looked to be professional lunches, which probably suits the regular menu pricing.
For a business lunch, date or showing the relatives a waterfront view, if you're on the Eastside, Le Grande Bistro deserves a look.
