This is the best restaurant with a view of Lake Washington. Their food is amazing: try there duck, grilled octopus, lobster Benedict, quiche, begnetd, and specials ...Their service is great: warm and happy people working there to make you feel welcomed.
WE MET OUR DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW FOR BRUNCH AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. LOVELY TABLE WITH A MARINA VIEW. THE FOOD WAS FABULOUS (MY HUSBAND AND I HAD EGGS BENEDICT WITH TERRIFIC HOLLANDAISE , MY DAUGHTER HAD THE FRENCH ONION SOUP WITH A SALAD AND MY SON-IN-LAW HAD THE FRENCH DIP - HIS FAVORITE)!! EVERY MEAL I HAVE EATEN HERE HAS BEEN MEMORABLE.
The food is always great. My favorite is the steak salad - very fresh greens, interesting components, tender beef. Other menu items are also delicious. Easy to park and great views of the marina and Lake Washington. Definitely a favorite lunch spot!
View was tops. Service was good from the waiter but backup help was not as good forgetting requests and not as attentive as they should have been. Food was very good, especially the soup and desserts.
Quality has really slipped. Of the 6 meals ordered at our table, 5 commented that the meat was dry. This used to be our go-to for a delicious meal with a great view--the view is still great.
Favorite Kirkland lunch. To sum it up, it’s just so civilized!
One of my favorite places for Sunday brunch! Excellent food, excellent view!
We went here on Easter. I ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict on the brunch menu, it was marvelous with lots of lobster and the potatoes were great. Two weeks later we returned and I was excited about ordering it again. This time there was hardly any lobster and the potatoes were close to burnt. The server didn't even bother to give us bread when we sat down. My wife ordered the duck confit hash, it wasn't anything special. In summation, a lack of consistency here. We won't be going back.
Always a go to. Consistent quality in food and service. Always ample parking. Views of the marina, lake and mountains astounding!
On of my favorite restaurants for brunch, happy hour and I bring my customer's there often for lunch. Always a class act!
The service was great and the view was awesome but I think the food was a little too fancy for what it was. Would go again, but I would definitley have different expectations. I will say that the waiter took excellent care of me, especially because of my allergies. Fair warning, lots of stuff have a nut component, i.e almond flour, peanut oil frying etc. Great view, would be awesome on a clear summer's day
Have dined here many times. Always a treat - and you can't be the ambiance.
According to Seattle restaurant week, the restaurant was suppose to offer the lunch 2 course special promotion. However, when we arrived late, we were told that they only offer the 3 course dinner promotion. Not sure who is at fault for the misinformation but it felt like a bait and switch tactic. Either way, the overall food and ambiance was good.
If you could replicate the famous restaurant in Disney’s Pixar Ratatouille into the Pacific Northwest with a humble but tranquil and relaxing ambiance in front of the water, Le Grand would be it. The service is amazing and fluid. Any need we had from a new napkin to taking plates off the table was met in under a minute by any staff member (I actually timed it). The dishes were so presentable you’d think you were in a world renown restaurant. Between appetizers, the main entree and desert, the following portion was instantly ready and placed on the table when you were done. And as someone who has traveled to Paris I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners or chefs were from Paris or lived there for at least a considerable amount of time given the authenticity of the meals and its presentation. The experience was comparable to some restaurants where you might have to expect a $500+ bill for two but you get it for a fraction of that price. The wine selection is perfect and they have French famous dishes like escargot which I whole heartedly recommend. I completely intend to make this location my date night location for years to come. I would never say this lightly but I’d have to say this is the best restaurant in WA. I’ll be returning soon for sure!
The food was great but the service borderlined on poor. We arrived around 5:45, ordered drinks, one appetizer, and entrees. We were at the restaurant for two and half hours. My poor Dad was starving as he didn’t partake in the oyster appetizer, so he had to wait almost two hours for any food. They didn’t seem understaffed so I don’t know what the problem was. We had to ask other servers for water refills, more drinks. If the food wasn’t so good,I wouldn’t even consider going back.
Best value for Restaraunt Week dining. Good food and value.
Over priced. Excellent location and the food was good but $55 for 2 appetizers and a glass of wine and an Iced tea was excessive.
We had such a great time the other night at Le Grand Bistro! It is one of our favorite restaurants. We very much appreciated the Restaurant Week menu. Every dish was just delicious!
The best part of the experience was our waitress Anna: she was everything and more of what you desire in a waitress: polite, funny, knowledgeable, caring. She made it clear that our happiness was her priority and we really felt well taken care of.
I have been here for several business meetings and typically during happy hour. I decided to bring my mom, sister, brother and nephew for a birthday celebration. It was peak lunch time so the restaurant was very busy. The atmosphere is great and the service was wonderful. However the food was bland and underwhelming. My mom and brother both got the French Dip. The meat was really dry and the bread was burnt. My brother is a server at a very fancy restaurant and never wants to send food back so they just sucked it up. I had the prawn salad and it was okay, not much flavor. My sister had the steak salad and said it was pretty good, but her steak was over done. All the other times I have been here the food has been great, but I am guessing because it was not busy in the restaurant during my other visits. Seems like the kitchen may not be able to handle things as well when the restaurant is packed. I work close by so will be back for sure because when it is good it is worth it.
We've come here several times now and never been disappointed. Such delicious food, great cocktails, wine list, and service.
Good competent food in nice setting. The salad was not overdressed which told us right from the start that the kitchen was making a serious effort. Liked the demi pichet (small carafe) - great value. We will come back.
We were pleasantly surprised at this visit to Le Grand B. Everything was excellent!! Could not have been more pleased with dinners and attentive service. Food and drinks arrived promptly--fresh and hot. Our steaks were beautiful but a little too rare--they quickly corrected without over cooking. Or any attitude. Couldn't have been nicer. Offered us something while we waited--but no need. Recommend the filet mignon and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Also, you really can't top the harbor view from a booth by the window.
[Note It has been a few years since dining here and we recalled the service being a bit spotty and overall a kind of ok experience. All of this has clearly been addressed. We will be back soon!]
Service was poor
Great food and wine
-looking out on Lake Washington sunset. An every day option of a wild fish entree would make this place even better.
Anna our server was Fantastic!
Escargot did not have much garlic. Croque Monsieur was burned. Seafood stew on special has overcooked shellfish. 2nd glass of wine was Sauvignon Blanc not Chardonnay as ordered. Bread was good. Hadn't been here for a while and likely won't go back for a while. Very disappointed. Used to be so good....
The best French Onion Soup I’v ever had...not salty like majority of them are, and had lots of melted, toasted cheese on top. The duck was delicious, as was the truffles mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower. Even the rib steak with bordelaise sauce was rich in flavor. You also won’t go wrong with the dark chocolate mousse for dessert! I had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday, enjoying super-delicious food, great service...all while overlooking the marina, water and lights!
We were used to go to the Grand but have not been for a while. If the food is still good and the service very friendly as usual, prices increased so much in the past year or so that it is now a very expensive restaurant. 6 oysters, 6 escargots, entrecote, artic char (all really good, well prepared) a beer, and a glass of wine for $150 w/o service for two...
It is one of our "go to" restaurants in the neighborhood for lunch or dinner. Good wine menu. The menu choices are good.....husband and I shared a Ceasar salad which was perfect amount, he loved his rack of lamb, my choice of clams was ok but not great.....will order something else next visit. The mussels looked better to me so my mistake!! Sorbet for dessert was excellent.
Beautiful view of the water, pretty good food and decent setting. Fantastic serviced. Maybe if we weren't sat next to the server stand and the constant printing out of receipts, that would have helped. The food didn't blow my mind but it was good.
Le Grand is one of our favorite restaurants with great views on Lake Washington. The food is outstanding and you cannot get a better burger than the Lamb burger with eggplant on a brioche roll. We shared a burger and the Lyonaise salad and had a wonderful lunch. We stayed and talked after lunch and no one rushed us out of the door.
We always love to come here to eat. Always good food and good service. Love the escargot and the boeuf bourguignon.
They are not child friendly. Did not even have a high chair, and stated it was intentional decision. So, we left the restaurant. 1st time I had this issue in America. Do not go with kids.....wanted to have nice birthday dinner with my wife and 10 month old.
Delicious food, great manu
Great atmosphere, service and food were terrific will definitely be back.
This was a wonderful place to eat. The food was delicious. The service awesome and it wasn’t pretentious
Our server was great-funny and attentive but didn’t hover. Food was just fantastic
We liked the food , service and the music that was playing. Restaurant has view of the Marina.
The main course was amazing. The rack of lamb was worth every penny. Our server took forever and a couple of times had to be reminded after several minutes that we haven't received our cocktails. Then getting the check so we could leave also took forever but again the main course was amazing and we would love to go back again soon.
We dined here for date night and everything about our experience was top notch. I had the pepper crusted new York steak, cooked medium rare with truffle butter whipped potatoes. My wife had a flavorful rack of lamb with a crust perfectly seared on the outside and juicy on the inside. Tender and robust. The steamed clams were so good we had them bring us more bread to sop up the broth. The view of the boats in the marina from our window side booth made the ambiance memorable. We spent a lot of money for a great dinner that we felt was so worth it we ended up tipping 40%. Le Grand isn't something we can afford too often, but will be the first choice for future date nights. When you find perfection theres no need to search any further. In one word our experience was absolutely ENCHANTING.
