Le Grand Bistro Americain Ratings and Reviews
Loved the unique menu choices that aren't available at other brunch places: Oeufs en meurette was delicious and so was the quiche made with duck confit. Loved the music and that fact we could hold a conversation across our table for 6 and not have to shout to be heard!
There for Restaurant Week. Really nice selection of choices offered- steak, steelhead, mussels, sausage dish. I got the mussels and frites main dish and the mussels were great however the frites were terrible. They double-fry them and they taste like reheated McDonalds fries. They brought me a fresh cooked portion, but they were just as bad. Great service though!
Nice waterfront window booths and tables with a view across Lake Washington to Seattle. We were there during Seattle Restaurant week, so the prices were exemplary. We just had salads which were very fresh, not too huge but plenty for lunch. Given a midweek lunch, the crowd looked to be professional lunches, which probably suits the regular menu pricing.
For a business lunch, date or showing the relatives a waterfront view, if you're on the Eastside, Le Grande Bistro deserves a look.
We went for restaurant week and were pleased at the menu selection and the full size portions of food. We were given a table with a beautiful view of the lake, and the service was excellent. All in all, the setting and the food made for a very nice evening for us. We will definitely go back.
Have been to this restaurant on three occasions. Each time I have been less impressed. In this my final visit I had requested a nice table being it with my anniversary. I was seated in a cramped corner table behind the white stand in the section generally reserved for families, as I have observed in the past. My entrée of mussels were somewhat flavorless. Their wine list here also leave something to be desired. Desserts on the other hand are extraordinary. On our first time we experienced a server that was excellent. Om subsequent visits the service has been rather mediocre. At this point the price value relationship is not there and I could not recommend or return.
One of my favorite Eastside restaurants for lunch/business dining, year round! Staff is typically warm, accommodating, knowledgeable and the food has never disappointed me! This restaurant wins on the elements of: ambiance , excellent menu and great customer service!
Small but nice outdoor seating area in the warmer months. I always order the mussels and the beet salad to start; you can also order the mussels as a meal (the only difference that I can tell is that the meal comes w/fries; the app doesn't). Fave place for an artisan burger; order w/gruyere cheese. Great early happy hour too!
We dined for the 4-5 time, and the food here is very good. The mussel appetizer is fantastic, the beat salad great and, or course, the French soup wonderful. Unfortunately, our service this time was terrible. We ate outside, and one waiter served the two tables on either side, and our waiter served tables at the end and our one table in the middle. But he forgot about us for 20 minutes after he took our drink order, and in the middle of the meal, when I asked for the wine list, he said yes but never brought it. So we paid and left. Hopefully, things will fare better next time.
We had some of the best dishes we've had in a while - both were night specials. Ling cod cooked perfectly and a duck leg salad with watermelon radishes that was both stunning and delicious. Started with a dozen perfectly opened oysters (seems odd, but we get shell bits often eating oysters out). Wine steward was helpful and prompt. And our server was a joy - we had more fun with her than I can remember anywhere in downtown Seattle in eons. Really good food, and really not stuffy. Wish we still lived on the Eastside (well, not really, but for this, it was a good trip).
Great view, nice appearing menu. Service was terrible (had to replace a cracked glass without apology, brought the wrong beer on refill, and brought us the wrong check.) Portions were quite small. Parking is tedious and took forever to get out paying despite "validation." This is not what you expect for $80pp. There will be no second chance.
The food had always been good at the restaurant, but the service is subpar. Haven't really been impressed by the hostesses or servers. This last time there was still 15 mins left on happy hour and the server decided that we couldn't order on HH because he didn't want to take our order until after so he took the menu away. hmm that was weird.
Excellent service, including the waiter making wonderful recommendations on entrées and wine pairings. Food was delicious, and atmosphere on patio overlooking Lake Washington was romantic (the plexiglass barrier protects from wind). It's a bit pricey, but well worth it for a special night out!
