Granite City Food & Brewery - Northville
Sunday night, quiet and efficient. Food was a bit out of the ordinary but very good. Owner came over to inquire about our satisfaction. The value was well worth the visit
Seriously the worst overall dining experience EVER!!! The food was mediocre, the service was absolutely AWFUL! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time or money at this place! We ordered the combo for 4 and they missed items on it and made it seem like it was our fault that they just got new menus today and their kitchen staff doesn’t know what the new items are. Not once did we get an apology or even had someone come and check up on us! Just do yourself a favor and stay AWAY!
Oh Le George. On the positive side, the baba ganoush and chicken were very tasty. Everything else left quite a bit to be desired. I wish I had read other reviews before going here. The hummus and lentil soup were the blandest things I've ever tasted. The servings are also ridiculously small - even my glass of wine was the smallest pour I've ever received. The staff were lovely, but you can tell that management runs a very thrifty operation. There are much better restaurants where you will be a better experience for your money in Northville.
Food came out very slowly, service was slow, and the food was just okay for the price.
My husband had the ratatouille, which was amazing. He doesn’t even like eggplant, just tried it because he felt like something different, and his plate was so clean when he finished, I couldn’t believe it. I had a taste and also was amazed- so good!
The owner is always there to greet us, super friendly staff, great Mediterranean food, caters to allergies a plus!
It is in a beautiful location. Great to walk around. For the prices generally in other Lebanese or middle eastern restaurants, the portion sizes are much larger. The food itself was tasty. We enjoyed the experience.
had their Koosa just awesome!
Attentive service, a little slow in expediting simple appetizers. The Lebanese grilled foods are beautifully and tastily rendered. We return often.
Portions where small, service was slow, meat filet shish kabobs was tuff. The shawarma appetizer was small and chicken well done. Also like two tablespoons of chicken for 14$. Not going back.
We didn't know there was an event in town, but we were seated promptly , outside as requseted. Tight seating out there, very close to other table. Waitress was ditzy, took a lot of time to get drinks, and ordered right then. Ordered the hummus, she brought bread right out but the hummus took a long time to be prepped. ( hummus?) . Salads were perfunctory.
Our friends food was good, and they seemed pleased. My chicken artichoke dish was overcooked. ( My wine was good but it was only like 4 oz it seemed). Maybe they were slammed and had staffing issues, but it was off enough that we wont be back.
Le George is a jewel amongst the many downtown Northville eateries. The service is attentive and the food quality is top shelf. It is always my first choice when dining in the area.
Made a reservation on Open Table but the restaurant was closed for Memorial Day when I arrived. Not sure how this could happen.
Went for a bite before going to Tipping Point Theatre. The filo was amazing! And the Lebanese coffee was aromatic and lovely. French-themed middle eastern menu ... and with a warm ambience.
Le George is a regular spot for us, and we love the food and the service (especially when George is involved). This experience was a bit chaotic (it was Mother’s Day). It was clear that something was awry with reservations, as multiple people (ourselves included) used opentable to reserve, but were met with confounded glances by the hostesses who clearly weren’t tracking many of the reservations that came in this way. We watched as a party of 6, without reservations mind you, were sat before us. Thankfully, the staff scrambled to make a table for us, but many people ended up leaving in frustration due to the reservation snafu. Once seated, service and food were great. George was super busy with the restaurant filled to capacity, so he never made it over to say Hi. Unfortunate experience, but one that is easily forgiven due to the goodwill built up over many of experiences here over the years. Le George is best visited when things are much slower. When things get super busy, we’ve noticed that the restaurant doesn’t operate at full efficiency. We still love it. Northville’s best restaurant, in our opinion.
This is the second time that I had a less than favorable experience at LeGeorge. The chicken was so tough it was hard to chew. The amount of wine you get in your class is simply a crime. They offer the same bottle as Tiramisu does but LaGeorge charges $10 more. The glass is $12 each and literally is so small I would not be surprised if they can get eight “glasses” out of the bottle!! I had a reservation and was there a few minutes before my friend. The hostess sat me without saying anything then I saw the owner tell her to go ask me something, she came over and said “how long before the second person will be here?” At this point, are they going to make me get back up and wait? Also, the amount of time we had to wait between ordering the second shot of wine and getting it was ridiculous. I will not be visiting LeGeorge again.
We had a wonderful evening at Le George. Our reservation for 8 was accommodated, even though their space was a little small. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. But the main attraction was the amazing food! We will be back!
Amazing food and service.
We love LeGeorge! George and his staff are so kind, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. I’m Lebanese and my family had a restaurant in Clinton Township for 18 years, I couldn’t find anything that could compare in this area until LeGeorge!
Great food. Personal service. Quiet atmosphere...you can converse comfortably. Hard seats so bring a pillow if you have a bad back. But don’t be deterred...we had a great dinner there.
Nice night with our vegetarian kids
We have become regulars at Le George. It is one of our very favorite restaurants because it combines a wonderful menu with a cozy environment and excellent service. The owner, George, is meticulous about the food and service he provides. If you go, ask him what he recommends, he will never steer you wrong! :)
We ate here a year ago and enjoy it very much. Our recent experience was not so good. We ordered a hummus, and the shwarma combo which includes a soup or salad. All the food was served practically at the same time, and the shwarma was very dried out and crispy, as if it had been sitting around for a while. For dessert we had a baclava and a rice pudding which were ok. Perhaps it was just an off night for them. We shall try it again and order something different.
A group of 6 friends had dinner at Le George & were pleasantly surprised at the creative dinner selections and attractive presentation. Small setting so at least on the weekend, reservations are a must.
The French, Lebanese and Mediterranean food influences were very appealing and the food was excellent with fresh ingredients. We received personalized attention from the server and the owner both of whom were very warm and gracious while we ate at their restaurant. In my group of 4 who visited the restaurant none of us had any negatives about the food or service. This is a restaurant we will visit again as it was excellent value for the quality of food and service provided.
just a great atmosphere! great combination of french and mediterranean food. George (owner) is great guy,he is there
all the time and he makes sure everything his right.
Great food. My wife said it was the best Chicken shawarma she has ever had. We will definitely be back.
This is a Lebanese-French family-owned restaurant with a unique menu. While its food is well-prepared and tasty, it does not have the airs of a fancy high-end restaurant. Georges is always personally there to make sure that the customers are taken care of and takes pride in the authenticity and quality of the food. The only drawback of this place is that it is small. This means significant waits even with reservations and a moderately high noise level. Despite this, I like the place very much and recommend it. Just don't go there when my wife and I plan to visit it. Thanks.
Especially love that most things on the menu are gluten free. We ordered a lot of food to try and I loved everything! I don't think I've ever said that about another restaurant before. It's hard to pinpoint what my favorite was. Ate the hummus, crab cakes, stir fry with chicken and shrimp, rice pudding, chocolate cake, coffee... definitely hoping to go back.
A little cold sitting by the windows
Service was slow. Food and drink both extremely small portions. Overpowering onions in quinoa salad. Not worth going back.
Great food, very friendly service. Will be back for sure.
It is a joy to this restaurant in Northville! Great menu for mediterranean food but enough
other menu items for erveryone. The owner Is always there and very concern that evething
is good. Glad they are on Open Table! we will be back!
We had a delicious meal! Great hummus and warm pita, best baked kibbe and grilled veggies. It was our first visit. Just sorry we didn't try it sooner!
If you like neighborhood European restaurants, you'll love Le George. The food is exceptional, the service excellent and the atmosphere is cozy and quiet. But bring a cushion if you have a bad back. The wooden seats are hard!
Really enjoyed the food. I had the Schwarma Duo, very tasty.
Great Dinner with Friends. Food was great.
Poor service, good food. we had the lentil soup and chicken Sharma
Quiet and cozy restaurant in downtown Northville serving authentic Lebanese and some French dishes. We both had the ratatouille—it was excellent. Service was particularly attentive. Will return.
Very cozy place. The staff and owner were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. Quiet and clean. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
