Pre/post Theatre
Le Garrick, located in London's theatreland, is an intimate French restaurant. There is a homely restaurant at ground level, while at lower ground level the friendly bar/dining room has intimate nooks for romantic moments. Expect classics and favourites of French bistro cooking; grilled entrecote with sauce poivre & pommes frites or lemon tarte with creme fraiche among the classic desserts. The 2/C prix fixe menu is a lifesaver pre-theatre. In an area that's full of chains, Le Garrick is a one-off.

Fabulous little place, never fails to deliver. So lovely to have a menu where you dont have to ask what the crazy things are, this is a true menu for the customer, not the chef's ego. Very reasonable prices especially when it is so good, service delightful (although my ice cream had possibly stood a bit too long before service, but I love this place so much I will forgive them that, and the taste outweighed any slight discrepancy in texture). Cannot wait to go again.

It was the evening of St. Valentine’s Day and the restaurant was packed. Nevertheless, we were seated immediately and the service, as too was the food and wine, very good. We had a most enjoyable evening.

Le Garrick has excellent ambience, buzz, and great and engaging stuff. Love their hearty dishes, their wine selection, and the half-litre carafe concept. The perfect place for a two-course meal. Deserts is an area where they can improve.

We have been to Le Garrick a few times a year for ages. It’s terrific and great value. The quality of food, drinks and service has remained consistently high throughout. Great atmosphere too. Ideally situated for a pre theatre meal.

Le Garrick, a small authentic French Restaurant in Covent Garden wher for a reasonable price you can dine as if you were in France. Has a lot of ambience and the French waitress was a delight. The only bugbear and that lets it down is the pre theatre menu, more precisely the onglet steak. Thin, stringy and quite hard to eat even cooked medium rare.. which isn't something I normally do.. and is now, 2 hours later something I am deeply regretting. However this could just be me or just an off cut of meat. Either way, only thing that let down an enjoyable evening.

Le Garrick has for many years been one of my favourite places. We have loved going downstairs into the “crypt” and the service has always been excellent. The thing is...the food was poor.

I had a minuscule sliver of tasteless foie gras washed down by a WARM glass of sweet wine. All 3 of us had very disappointing confit de canard. When the chips are the highlight of a meal, you know there’s a problem.

We were there for pre theatre dinner but they forgot our dessert and the service was so slow we had to run to the theatre!

Restaurant on the snug side in the basement, however adds to the coziness and ambience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The set menu is really good value for money and. Food arrives quickly and is hot. Had the onglet steak for main and was cooked very nicely. Recommend for pre theatre dinner.

We had the mussels. They were miniscule . Other than that a very nice occasion. Change your supplier or take off the menu.

Le Garrick is close to several theatres and so we went there for dinner at 6pm on a Friday.
The service was good and attentive and their recommendations in specials of the day where good (and in fact cheaper than what I had said I was going to order).
My only complaint is that as a table for two we were effectively in a corridor which meant it felt like we were in the way and the air conditioning started drinking in my friends.
Other than that it was a pleasant meal but I would rather not sit in the corridor again.

There's always a great atmosphere here - especially downstairs in the old cellar. It feels like being in Paris - and being young again... Lovely

I was very disappointed as this looked lovely online. It is rather "tired" and smelled a bit musty downstairs, rather dreary. Service was slow (very friendly but slow) although it was very quiet. My friend disliked the atmosphere and the wait so much that we tried to cancel our order but it was too late. My friend's risotto was awful and she had to send it back - the waitress agreed it didn't taste right. My duck was nice but very expensive for what it was - ie just confit duck and green beans for £18. There are so many great places to eat in the area and I felt embarrassed I had chosen this...

A charming and surprisingly authentic French restaurant on the edge of Covent Garden. The food is predominantly rustic, nicely prepared and presented, and the service friendly and charmingly French accented. A good choice for a pre-theatre lunch or dinner.

I took five of my godchildren here together with my daughter on Saturday night. I have never taken them all out together so it was a very special occasion, and Le Garrick was absolutely perfect! The waiting staff were very attentive and completely charming, and the food was delicious. The puddings were divine - the creme brûlée and the chocolate pot were a particular success.

Le Garrick is a lovely French restaurant. It’s pre-theatre menu is very good value and it’s a la carte menu is fairly priced. Venue itself is fairly small but I like that. It can be noisy if other tables are loud. Much better to sit downstairs rather than upstairs. Always happy to take friends and other people to whom I have recommended the restaurant have enjoyed it too. Very handy for ROH and ENO.

Decor in need of attention, ie ripped wallpaper. The moules were very gritty and the sauce lacking flavour. The beef bourgingnon was tasty but very small portion .Overall we felt it was overpriced for what we ate .
