Le Fou Frog
Absolutely the BEST French Food Restaurant in Kansas City, hands down!
the selection of entrees was as usual overwhelming so choosing selection can be challenging, nevertheless we chose two outstanding dishes and we were rewarded for our selections with a fabulous meal.
THANK YOU ALL A T LA FOU FROG ONCE AGAIN!
We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted a special menu, great service, and a small venue filled with laughter and fun. We got exactly what we wanted. Thank you.
This is one of our consistent favorite places in town! Delicious creative food, terrific service, ambience and a smooth vibe! We love it! Great wine selection too!
My wife and I had a perfect anniversary!
Little gem. Tasty food. Fun people. Atmosphere is small, cozy and comfortable. Entertainment always a surprise.
Food was amazing!!! Absolutely loved the French Onion soup, it was to die for.
It was absolutely amazing. The scallops and Salmon plates were perfection. Our server, Michelle was awesome and she was as key to the perfect meal as the meal.
Food was great as always. Baked brie is a must have with osso bucco. The restaurant was very warm and seemed darker than normal.
Chic ambiance, delicious food, gracious service, lovely beverages, delightful and exciting dining experience. There is a reason you can never forget a meal at Le Fou Frog. I’ve been lucky enough to visit many times throughout almost 20 years. Love it always.
My favorite place in the city, we come as often as we can. An dining experience to remember!
We loved our visit to Le Fou Frog! The food was amazing! Each of us ordered a different seafood dish, and all were decadent and yummy. We had the calamari Caesar salad which was perfect, as was the rich seared foie gras. The atmosphere was very...red, so our food pictures didn't turn out well. It was a laid-back and casual dinner which is very unusual for a French restaurant.
All of the food was great, especially off the specials menu. A little too pricey for us to be a regular go-to, but will definitely be back. Was a little annoyed at first that starters and entree have to be ordered at the same time.
Dinner was amazing! Highly recommend the scallops. Michelle provided excellent service - she took great care of us.
Waitress was rude. Steak au Poivre had no sauce. Just an abundance of peppercorns on the steak. The meat was tough. It was like chewing on medium rare shoe leather.
Our dinner, a first visit to Fou Frog for our guests, and one of several previous visits over several years. The menu, as always, shows wide variety (the on-line version represents the "standards"--the current "stuff") with the chalkboard they have used for years still providing choices which are usually more diverse, more unique, more seasonal. Each of us had a different dish with the accompaniments appropriate to the entrée. We didn't have desserts because we were having a specialty one at home later. It was a little noisy but not excessive for a place where all tables were full and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves without excessive merriment.
I was most app
Food was fantastic. Service quite good even though it was very busy for a Thursday evening. After so many years, this continues to be one of the best restaurants in the Kansas City region.
Always a joy...everything just wonderful.
Excellent through and through again. Can’t say enough about this wonderful little restaurant. I am from out of town but make sure to head here every trip to Kansas City.
I have never had a bad meal here. It had been several years since the last visit, but it was as excellent as I remember.
A wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend for a romantic evening. My wife and I celebrated our first year anniversary here and loved it.
Excellent food; knowledgeable and professional service; good value for the quality.
Le Fou Frog goes for a sort of provincial pub ambience, so the dress code is fairly relaxed; jeans and short sleeves are okay. The food is very good, if pricey, and the staff is knowledgeable and attentive.
You may have read or heard something about their singing chef; he sang twice during our visit. He has a nice voice, but misses a lot of notes. If you take singing seriously, you will be glad when he stops. If not, then it’s a nice touch.
Best crab cake ever. Dover sole charged $54 but I thought the chalkboard said $42. Possibly overcharged.
Iced tea was average at best. Took a long time to get desert. No mention of our anniversary until the very end. Bill was $170 with no alcohol and one desert.
I will return for the crab cake but really nothing else.
It’s been very hot in KC this week! That having been said, the air conditioning was anemic. In order to enjoy the food, it’s important to make sure that heat and humidity aren’t a distraction. The food was great the restaurant needs upgrading! Thread bare... love you guys... but it’s time! .....
The 4 of us had mussels, escargot, sea bass, flounder and gnocchi. Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly and beautifully presented. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions and offer excellent descriptions of the items we were interested in.
It was a wonderful birthday dinner.
I love the happy hour menu! Dale was our waiter and he excelled in giving us a truly great dining experience.
Thanks to all!
This is our favorite restaurant. If we can be there for Bastille Day we always try to make it. Next to New Years' Eve -- it's the best time to go. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is super fun!
Bastille Day- w beau and his mom.
Perfect anniversary dinner on Bastille Day. Le fou frog never disappoints. The food is wonderful and the service is even bette. Merci mes amis.
Wonderful time enjoying Bastille Day.
We went for the Bastille Day celebration - so much fun! The food was delicious (as usual) and it was such a fun and festive atmosphere. I would definitely recommend!
Wonderful Bastille celebration complete with cabaret performance snd tarot card readings! And, of course, exceptional food.
The best meal/experience any of us has had for a long time. Favorite restaurant in KC!
My mom and I finally were able to visit Le fou frog for their Bastille Day celebrations and what a treat! The menu was incredible, but the entertainment from the staff was phenomenal! All the staff wore costumes and they each sang their own songs and the patrons were strongly encouraged to participate. I expected to enjoy the evening but was blown away by how fun that made the festivities for everyone. Thanks so much for a great first experience!
Enjoy Le Fou for date night-always!
Years ago my friend Bob Smith recommended Le Fou Frog. I've dined on several occasions but our last visit was superb in every way. The atmosphere, food, and delightful service were truly magnificent. I would like to know where I could purchase the wonderful wine that was served. Sancerre Grandmontains.
Nice special occasion spot. Decor could use some updating. All the paper and chalk boards are daunting but the bisque was yummy and we enjoyed our meals.
The quality of food was extremely disappointing! The baked Brie was cold and solidified with no accompaniments-no fruit or bread or anything! The pate had the consistency of flaky cat food and was served with potato chips. Charcuterie board completely sub par. Will definitely not be returning. This is a high end French restaurant but what a joke.
