Le Fou Frog
Excellent meal and service. A must try!
As always, the best place to eat in town! Amazing food, wonderful ambiance and friendly/attentive wait staff. Couldn't possibly recommend it more!
Excellent food and service over the last 20+ years- we just went this past week and it was excellent
We come to Le Fou Frog generally for important events in our life. This time was for our 5th wedding anniversary. The service and the food are tremendous and the atmosphere is so openly friendly.
Amazing food! Tables are close together so it’s a little crowded but other than that it’s awesome!
Very quaint and cozy with excellent food. A lovely dining experience & loved the singing chef!!!!
Excellent. So much fun and great food. Our server was delightful, funny, and so helpful. Can't wait to come back
We have eaten at Le Fou Frog many times. It has been above and beyond our expectations every time. We brought out-of town friends with us on the 13th. Our waitress was Michelle and she remembered me and my husband from previous visits. Pretty good because we don't live in KC either but visit a lot so we don't get to Le Fou Frog as often as we like. As usual everything was superb from the service to the food and drinks(great vodka lemonade and martinis). I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes but found your menu to be very accommodating for my diet. This will always be our dining destination when coming to KC.
The very French menu is what attracted me to try Le Fou Frog . We were not let down with the quality of food and the presentation! My husband loves escargot, he said they were tender , seasoned nicely to highlight the escargots flavor not over power it . I had the fois gras appetizer which was everything dream about in a fois gras , tender , melt in your mouth goodness . My mouth is still watering writing about it ! We had the smoked duck salad . Duck was lightly smoked with a light dressing on the salad to compliment the duck . We shared the Waygu Beef entree , we ordered it perfectly done it was a nice medium pink inside , almost did not need a knife .. this also had fois gras on it .. very nice dish .. the food got surpassed our expectations. Overlook the worn out funky decor and treat yourself to the best French food this side of Paris .
Everyone was very nice and personable. Got there during Happy Hour so there were plenty of choices including small plates that had enough food to take some home. Enjoyed a cocktail and desert. Good all around experience. Would like to return.
Food is always the best. I don’t think I have ever had anything that I wasn’t pleased with. This time I actually ordered something that wasn’t my regular. Soft shell crabs were on the menu and I can never say no to that
Very nice french restaurant in Kansas City, a great place to go for a respite form BBQ and steak.
Traditional preparations of french classics served with taste and elegance. very enjoyable atmosphere, and a nice outside dining area for when the weather is agreeable.
A special place. Tough to beat for a special occasion.
Our server was very knowledgeable in all items on the menu. We got the peppered KC strip and gnocchi. Both were cooked to Perfection! We’ll definitely be back!
Food was delicious, server real nice and recommend me stuff to try on the menu. Overall it was pretty nice.
The staff and food were both amazing
Love coming here, have been doing so for years. Always transports you away to feeling like you are on vacation in France at a cozy yet lively restaurant. Great food, service, atmosphere. The mussels are plentiful and the salmon I had was excellent. We are fortunate to have such a great place in Kansas City to feel special and enjoy a wonderful evening! C'est magnifique!
Le Fou Frog is always a great favorite in KC. Creative French cuisine served in an intimate and quirky space provides an unforgettable experience. We go a few minutes early to be sure we have a few minutes to relax with a cocktail at the bar. On this trip, the Veal Osso Buco was outstanding. The service was helpful and collegial. We highly recommend Le Fou Frog.
Service was excellent and the food was as well!
Funky little place with funky food. We had the best ceviche ever made with halibut. My trout almondine was delicious and my husband's rack of lamb had 7 bones. We had a small cheese plate for dessert with lacey potato chips, sugared almonds, figs, grapes and three cheeses. Our waiter, who has worked there for years, was attentive and friendly. What a wonderful time. The people watching there was good, too.
Our first visit but will not be our last. Everything from start to finish was excellent.
Our table for 8 was cozy and charming. jean Pierre was our waiter and we find him charming, competent, and amusing. He advised us on the preparation of various entrees and appetizers. Sweetbreads, various fish dishes and steaks were ordered and enjoyed. The chilled melon soup was amazing and delicious. We always enjoy Le Fou, and our out of town guests were quite impressed. A very special occasion for us!
We had a lovely waitress that told us she was new, we wouldn’t have known, she did an excellent job. She was able to tell us about menu items and the restaurant itself. I apologize for not remembering her name, but she was very pleasant and did an excellent job!
The meal was spectacular. Every portion of it. We arrived early enough to enjoy some items on the happy hour menu. Service was very attentive. My husband enjoyed the daily special which was fresh venison. I had one of the happy hour specials which was steak, fries with gravy and a side salad. They heirloom tomato mozzarella salad was also very good. Finished the dinner off with wonderful chocolate truffles.
As always, le Fou Frog was fabulous! We love the ambiance, friendly service, and incredible food! If you are looking for a romantic evening or just a gathering of friends, you should try this place.
Absolutely delicious. And the atmosphere was fantastic. Really pretty and high end in appearance. But everyone, customer and servers alike, were fun and outgoing. Didn't feel out of place in such a nice restaurant.
Super service, fun atmosphere... lovely wines! Specials on tiny chalk boards always a a favorite
Absolutely the BEST French Food Restaurant in Kansas City, hands down!
the selection of entrees was as usual overwhelming so choosing selection can be challenging, nevertheless we chose two outstanding dishes and we were rewarded for our selections with a fabulous meal.
THANK YOU ALL A T LA FOU FROG ONCE AGAIN!
We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted a special menu, great service, and a small venue filled with laughter and fun. We got exactly what we wanted. Thank you.
This is one of our consistent favorite places in town! Delicious creative food, terrific service, ambience and a smooth vibe! We love it! Great wine selection too!
My wife and I had a perfect anniversary!
Little gem. Tasty food. Fun people. Atmosphere is small, cozy and comfortable. Entertainment always a surprise.
Food was amazing!!! Absolutely loved the French Onion soup, it was to die for.
It was absolutely amazing. The scallops and Salmon plates were perfection. Our server, Michelle was awesome and she was as key to the perfect meal as the meal.
Food was great as always. Baked brie is a must have with osso bucco. The restaurant was very warm and seemed darker than normal.
Chic ambiance, delicious food, gracious service, lovely beverages, delightful and exciting dining experience. There is a reason you can never forget a meal at Le Fou Frog. I’ve been lucky enough to visit many times throughout almost 20 years. Love it always.
My favorite place in the city, we come as often as we can. An dining experience to remember!
We loved our visit to Le Fou Frog! The food was amazing! Each of us ordered a different seafood dish, and all were decadent and yummy. We had the calamari Caesar salad which was perfect, as was the rich seared foie gras. The atmosphere was very...red, so our food pictures didn't turn out well. It was a laid-back and casual dinner which is very unusual for a French restaurant.
All of the food was great, especially off the specials menu. A little too pricey for us to be a regular go-to, but will definitely be back. Was a little annoyed at first that starters and entree have to be ordered at the same time.
