This was our second time. I remembered not loving it the first time but thought we'd give it another shot. Unfortunately the food was just...not good. Disappointing since good asian food is lacking in this area.
The food here is so tasty and prices are very reasonable. The food is delivered fairly quickly. People were coming in and out so it seems to be pretty popular. If you have ever wanted to try Vietnamese food, this is a great place to start!
This was our first time at Le Fat. We had four people and shared everything. All of the food was outstanding. Particularly the shaking beef and the green beans. Service was timely and professional. We will be back.
I brought my mom here for Mother’s Day!! We had been driving past this place and then finally tried it and it was amazing !!! The dumplings were the best I ever had and the chicken clay pot. Then to top it off we had champagne ice cream. I would definitely come back !! It’s a hidden gem in the city.
Dont be fooled by the name, place is as good as French/Vietnamese as you can get. Super fresh dishes, try the clay pot chicken or steak, the drunken noodles, or lemon grass shrimp. Also get an order of the won tons for appetizer. Free parking in the garage
Decor and Atmosphere was stellar. Food was okay. Cocktail choices was sparcevand didn’t taste very good.
Amazing food, every dish was well executed but amazing food cant make up for lack of service. It was a slow night and still it was my 2 year anniversary and I wrote down in the comments but not a single time during our meal the celebration was acknowledged by the staff. Minor issue for me big for other... none the less this meal food wise was ine of the best I had in Atl.
This was recommended for the first couple years. This visit was disappointing. Reservations were for 5:45 to make a movie time work, but they were actually "out" of 2 main dishes plus the Fried Chicken, which we heard also contributed to a charity. We ordered the Green Papaya salad, the Crab Noodles, and the Shrimp dish. The Salad never came. Waitress did offer to get us dessert or dessert to go, but we had to decline because of timing and not being able to go right home. I hope they will make it.
Shaking beef was not ‘melt in your mouth’ tender. The summer rolls were great, but everything else just ok.
Great food options and friendly service! Enjoyed the smaller plate sizes because it allow for more menu exploration. Perfect date night restaurant.
We made a reservation through a Open Table for 4 persons for 6:30 pm on April 23rd. When we arrived, Le Fat was closed. We will not try this restaurant again.
Extraordinary food, beverages and outstanding service each and every visit to Le Fat! They all go out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. The food is well executed and the flavors shine!
Le Fat is hands down one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. Amazing food and service every time. Anything you order is going to be delicious, including the cocktails
On two occasions I and my (different sets of) guests--not amateurs in Vietnamese cuisine by the way--were all delighted with Le Fat. It's more than another good ethnic restaurant. The offerings are diverse. Each of the ten (or so) I have tried has been very good. The chef's palate is subtle and imaginative, the materials are very good, and the presentation is appetizing. The ambiance is comfortably informal. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive and the cost is fair for a west-midtown Atlanta establishment. I will be back!
I like Le Fat for what it is.... ok Vietnamese Food in a schmancy setting! It is difficult for me to get the BF to Buford Hwy for what I am really desiring but he will agree to Le Fat. I always get the same thing, the drunken noodles, what are tasty, greasy, and a large portion. On this last visit he got the world famous fried chicken. He liked it, I thought it was decent but needed some type of sauce which I am sure they would have supplied if I had asked but since he was being stingy and I only got his leftovers I didn't realize that I would want sauce until I re-heated it the next day. That being said, the service is always phenomenal there. Servers are friendly, you won't want for anything and they make you feel welcome. As for the food.... I went one time and they were out of pho, leading us to forever nickname this place... WHAT THE PHO? I found the chicken basil dish to be drastically lacking in flavor and a small portion size. The fried spring rolls are good and I love the carrot radish mixture they serve. If you are lucky enough to sample the pho broth it is delicious. I have never had the actual beef pho, just the broth (3.00) and they don't have chicken pho on the menu at all which saddens me. All in all, it is where you go when you are looking for terrific ambiance, lighting, service, but not an extensive authentic Vietnamese meal packed with flavor. Overall- its a yay, for such occasions.
to the point: after two tries i don’t think the “ribeye angus” in the shaking steak dish is ribeye — very tough and not flavorful. sign over bar asking for bar tending help is not inspiring. i want to like this restaurant. may try again. wife likes. nice environment. easy parking.
The Clay Pot Chicken was exceptional, even as leftovers!
My wife and I were underwhelmed. The food was satisfying, but not something we would go back for, especially for the price. The service was fine, not great but not bad.
I loved the decor, it feels like you're eating in someone's grandmother's swanky vintage home. The service was good and prompt. The lemongrass shrimp is amazing. I will definitely be returning.
It's a fabulous restaurant for a great dinner or even a group of friends. Ambience and decor was just right with an intimate feel. Food was full of flavor, down right delicious. Drunken noodles, clay pot chicken, and escargot was yummy!!! Can't wait to return. Upon leaving, I noticed a very cute patio, great place to enjoy beautiful weather and people watch.
I love a restaurant that has so many good items on the menu that I have to worry whether I am making the right choice. LOL There are at least 5 items on the menu that I wanted to try, but I went with the Lemongrass Shrimp. I was delighted with it. There is free parking in the parking garage as well. Enjoy!
Average Vietnamese food. You can get better and cheaper elsewhere.
Underwelming. Food lacked flavor. Not true Vietnamese cuisine.
Food has zero flavor. All dishes were incredibly underwhelming.
Stopped in on a slow early Thursday eve. The complimentary parking was a treat! Had the lemongrass shrimp. BEWARE! They are fried! Wasn't expecting that. But they were good. Nothing else on the plate though except 8 good sized shrimp & some sauteed onions & the occasional red pepper. Whtie rice on the side. The hubby had the calamari. Much heartier & also delicious. Skip the escargot. They were in some kinda red sauce & not so fresh. Maybe canned? Going back to try the blue crab noodles.
Fantastic food and service at the bar
We use to enjoy this restaurant but it has gone downhill. The service was really slow.
Hope they find my watch 😩 it was otherwise a perfect evening
Wonferful meal and waitress. Manager is very sweet!
The food was delicious. My wife and I shared the drunken noodle with beef and a shrimp dish. The only problem I have is it will be difficult to try other dishes because those were so good.
What really made our meal was our server. I wish I recalled her name. She was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly, all the traits you want in a server.
We ate at Le Fat once before a while back and remembered it was good. This time it was terrific. We hope to become regulars.
Nice intimate setting and great food. Chicken claypot is to die for! Very attentive waitress
Food was good. The crab noodles had less than an ounce of crab in it which was ridiculous. Service was slow and it was weird the table next to us sat down at the aame time and got their food much faster than we did. We ordered 2 appetizers and the 2nd came out 15 minutes after we finished the first one. Dont order the crab noodles. 18 dollars for a bowl of ramen and a thimble of sauce.
Le Fat had some pretty FREAKING tasty yumdiddily food, but dang, I wish it came to be more satiating. I came out still feeling hungry, but it didn't take away from the overall experience at all. Just eat something before you go here maybe, I don't know.
Dumplings excellent. Pho Bowl very good and great value. Had a vibe and good ambiance. Eclectic crowd. Will go again.
Love the green bean dish!
Keep coming back because the food is excellent!
If you're already on the West Side, give Le Fat a go...it is not, in our mind, a destination restaurant. First things first, there is ample free parking. The decor is nice, though the long, tightly-packed tables mean you'll be as immersed in your neighbors' conversation as your own. The wine was nice, but for $9 a glass the pours were a little stingy. Finally, though the waitress was personable, when asked she had no idea how to pronounce the Vietnamese names of the dishes (I had the Cà Ri Gà). Having expressed an interest she could have at least asked!
The food was tasty and well-prepared, but there was no "wow" factor to be found. For all the rave reviews, I felt Le Fat fell short of expectations. There's nothing wrong with a "4" restaurant, as long as diners don't arrive expecting a "5."
Great service from Emmy! We've been a few times but she helped my boyfriend create a super spicy dish and me something far less so. Great date night!
Nice ambience and good service but waaaay overpriced and very average, nonauthentic food. Would not return.
