Great for a quick Saturday bite!

It was my partners birthday. The food was good but for the price coming from a server who works in a high end restaurant the service fell short. We felt like we didn’t belong the entire time and rushed. When I wasn’t exactly ready to order he gave me a second from putting out drinks in to then ask again. Then when we wanted to order another cocktail he not only had the check ready but in eye view which made us feel like he really wanted us to leave to flip his table. Then when I asked about the birthday if they did anything he had no idea which is odd since when called to confirm and upon arrival they wished my partner a happy birthday. I truly wouldn’t recommend this restaurant unless you “look the part” otherwise you’ll be rushed throughout the service and treated as if you don’t exist or belong. Sad thing is as a server if he would’ve given us human decency we would’ve left between 30-40% as we usually do but needless to say once again don’t waste your money when you can go down the street for cheaper food and servers who will actually treat you like a person.

The outdoor booths are great! Very cute and shelter from wind/rain, heat/light and some open air too. We were there for lunch and it was such a treat to be able to eat out comfortably during covid. Food is excellent but of course this is a higher price point restaurant. QR code for menu/contactless payment (paper menus by request and can pay the regular way if you need to). Great service.

It was a wonderful meal. Our waitress was amazing and the food and accommodations were perfect as usual. We especially liked the outdoor private booths. But again, our waitress was fantastic.

Service has slipped since I was last there about a year ago. They appear to have hired a bunch of college kids and with so many professional servers out of work due to Covid, you'd think they could do better. I specifically reserved on outdoor tented area and on arrival was told they were "first come, first serve" and was seated at a regular outdoor table. Fortunately they have heaters and it wasn't terribly cold. I also noticed they sell blankets for $20 but I didn't need one. My entree was over sauced. I'm not sure what's going on; maybe it was just an off night. Drinks and appetizers were great though.

Most wonderful restaurant in Washington DC! I have never had a bad dish there; everything on the menu is wonderful. The staff is wonderful. I think that their build out into the street is the nicest one in the city.

Really great first experience at Le Diplomate! I was worried we would be cold because we were sitting outside, but I actually ended up taking my jacket off due to the ample heaters. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the onion soup gratinée as a an appetizer- it was some of the best I have ever had in the area and was filling enough it could constitute a whole meal. I had the steak frites, which were recommended by my waitress and they were fabulous. I even reheated them the next day for lunch and they still tasted the same they did fresh out of the kitchen. I highly recommend Le Diplomate for a date night, special event or even just a dinner with friends.

Felt very safe in the outdoor dining huts (which had great heating/light/ambiance), food was delicious as always!

My fiancé and I are on a Keto diet and decided to have our cheat day at Le Diplomate. By far the best joint decision we've made. The burger and fries, macaroni au gratin, and pancakes were better than we remembered. Krista/Kristin (we each heard a different name lol) was an excellent server and made great drink recommendations. She was very personable, charismatic, and made sure we were checked on appropriately. Definitely worth the "cheat"!!!

It was a perfect Saturday late lunch on the patio. The weather was beautiful, food was great, and service was excellent. My guests were overwhelmed with the kindness that Adnane showed during out time.

We celebrated our daughter’s 23rd birthday. The food was incredibly delicious. The service was great. They created a safe outdoor dining setting. This was our first time there but we will definitely be back!

Once we were seated, everything was great. The food was wonderful and our server was awesome! However, our meal started off on the wrong foot because the hostess gave us major attitude. It was enough that it impacted the overall experience of our entire meal. We’ve been to le dip plenty of times and never had an experience like this. I would hate to have this be someone’s first time visiting and be turned off from visiting again because their first impression was the rude behavior of the front staff.

Le Diplomate never disappoints, but we were blown away by how nice the outdoor chateaus were on a cold and rainy February night! We were warm and cozy and enjoyed the intimate space. The food, wine, and service were all excellent and it was so nice to enjoy a safe dinner out.

Le Diplomate is wonderful. The service was amazing. The food and cocktails are delicious! The outdoor seating options are also very comfortable. Such a fun outing!

It was my mom’s 80th birthday & we were excited to have a lovely lunch to celebrate in one of my favorite restaurants. We made a reservation for outdoors & were thrilled with our chalet!

The outdoor chalets make a great dining experience even better! Favorite place to dine safely!

We felt like we were on an assembly line. Food is really good, but didn’t feel welcome. This isn a cheap restaurant and It just wasn’t a good experience.
