A good meal with impeccable service is always guaranteed at Le Dip!
We’ve been here often and love to support local businesses, especially now. So it’s with regret that I have to state our experiences with Le Dip have been going down hill. Last Sunday Brunch especially was a let down. We both ordered steaks that came out looking great, but had a burnt taste to it. This usually happens when the grill isn’t properly cleaned. The tiny blub of garlic butter on top was too small to give the dish any -much required- juice.
We used to be a big fan of the pastry basket, but regretfully they discontinued that. Ordered a croissant instead, which was bone dry and had no flavor at all. These used to be amazing here.
Honestly, the best thing about the meal was the free bread basket, which is a bit scarce on a $125,- bill for two with just on alcoholic beverage.
Another let down was the hostess, who read our note about our preferences to be seated on the Q side terrace. While a couple of tables where open, she said “these are for four”. We were then brought to the 14th street terrace to a table...big enough for four.
God-mother’s award celebration
This was the best brunch we’ve had in forever! The hollandaise sauce was the best my husband has ever tasted. I loved my omelette and the atmosphere was wonderful despite all of the special Covid restrictions. We LOVED it!
Always consistently good food and cute ambiance at Le Diplomate.
The food was not as good as we are accustomed to. Fortunately, the service was excellent as usual!
Food and drinks were on point as always. Service was a bit off this go around. We tried the Vietnamese coffee for the first time. We’ll be doing that again. Thank you for another great brunch!
We were very badly treated
Outstanding food, couldn't have been better!! Our server was fantastic as well!
The best restaurant in DC! I'm always impressed with the food and service.
Nice to have the ability to reserve outdoor tables near heaters. Great service.
Love, love, love, LeDiplomat and bringing newbies for brunch. Service was great, ambiance was wonderful, and food was delicious. And plenty of social distancing between tables. Wish they still had the basket of pastries!
Great outside set up given COVID. Food is still amazing and was great managing a gluten allergy.
A wonderful meal. Absolutely delicious
I've been to Le Dip before and have really enjoyed my experience, but I will not be returning, at least until things are back to pre-Covid. I ordered steak frites med-rare. I know the difference between med-rare, even rare vs. raw. It was so undercooked that you could barely cut it, and the inside was purple. After having it sent back and cooked a bit more and was still raw, I didn't bother to have it sent back again. We were really looking forward to revisiting Le Dip after not having been able to go for so long, and we were so disappointed. Aside of the bread, the escargot and other items were nothing spectacular, and the service was very slow for early in the evening and a number of tables being empty. We even noticed another table walk out after not receiving any service for 20-30 minutes after arriving.
Our server Daniel was AMAZING. Just AMAZING. He was timely, proactive, personable, knowledgeable.... everything you could ask for in a server. The lobster frites were DELICIOUS. What a great night!
Fantastic as always
We managed on a cold November night. It was Le Diplomate doing its best in trying circumstances.
Great food and atmosphere!!
Nice meal on the outside deck. Portable heaters provided warmth. Server was fantastic.
Overall just an excellent restaurant
We sat outside
Food was excellent. If you n mood for French food this is the place
The waiter was great, we were a somewhat unruly group of 5.
He was patient offered advice when we asked etc.
The food was WAY GOOD...two of our group had dined here before, the others were newbies and everyone was well pleased. We vowed to return.
Very safe covid-wise. Food was delicious as always and the service was great as always!
Good service and good food, a very enjoyable evening. Thank you.
The menu was an authentic French brasserie offering and the food was excellently prepared and delicious. We were on the terrace so little noise. Terrace heaters were not that much help on a chilly day. Service was good although are Kirs for the apero came late and overlapped with the appetizers. This place is truly a bit of Paris in Washington DC.
An enjoyable experience considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. Outside dining -- felt very safe - food and service were excellent.
Overpriced food for the quality. The steak was overdone and disappointing. The hostess was not friendly.
This used to be my favourite place. Tonight we had the worst service ever!!!!!!!!
Perfect place for a celebratory dinner! Our waiter was attentive, but not to the point of interrupting conversation. The ambiance was ideal & we were seated safely distant from other tables.
This was our first time back since the restaurant reopened. We had a lovely table on the sidewalk and felt COVID safe. We were celebrating our anniversary over brunch. Our server was attentive, food and beverages were coming out on time and accurate. Towards the end of our meal, after espresso and dessert, we decided to share another cocktail. When the server brought it out, it was half full. We asked for a full cocktail, considering that we were paying full price for it, and the server suggested that it's appropriate considering that we had enough at that point. Now, that isn't appropriate comment in my opinion. If the server thought we had too much to drink, we should not have been served. If the server made a joke, that was rather rude. When she brought back new (fuller) cocktail, she did not bother apologizing for serving us half a drink earlier. How do you think it made us feel towards the end of our meal after we spent $300s for brunch? We left with an awful taste in our mouths, and will not be coming back.
Very good brunch. Everyone really enjoyed themselves
Meal was delicious but service feels rushed we were told that we had a little over an hour to enjoy our meal the night of that meal waiter was a little distracted but overall the food the ambience the music and the service of the other staff members were impeccable impeccable
Great experience as always!
Service was not at expected level, missed order, delays with being checked on and clearing table
Had brunch here while visiting the city. The bloody was just 'ok', but everything else was wonderful. Loved sitting out in the sunroom.
The food and service was fantastic! We will definitely go back there.
This place always meets my expectations. I love coming here.
Hoping to get the epoisse again some day
Everything was amazing! The food and service was incredible as always and the patio was heated and socially distanced.
Exceeded even the high standards we expected. COVID precautions were explained and followed by staff. The food was exceptional and delicious.
