The Bistro of beautiful birds, the menu is all about poultry, whole to share cooked different ways, simple dishes flawlessly prepared, an entire section of the menu dedicated to eggs. Different types of celebrated terrines are available, and the famous Giblets Platter. -ode to the unique terroir of America expressed through the flavors of wild and heritage birds.

Le Coq Rico offers multiple seating areas, each of which, offer a unique style of dining. Our wine hall sits directly across from our wine tower, allowing one to peruse our library of both French and American wines chosen specifically to compliment the cuisine of our chef. We have our main dining room in the center of the restaurant. And, for those who would like a 'bird's eye view' of the kitchen, we offer our chef's counter.

Had to yell to get the check.. didn’t get dessert menus. We expressed that we didn’t have a ton of time. Just not really looked after at all. Dishes came, server vanished

Wow!! Such great roast chicken! My wife and I will go back to try a different roast bird, it’s that good.
Our starter was well done, too.
But the dessert was so good! We shared the Ile flottante, This is why it’s a French classic! Lots of cream, lots of vanilla, so well blended together.
The service is friendly and attentive, and not intrusive.
It’s a beautiful room, too.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. This was a great choice!
And yes, the kitchen sent out dessert with a happy birthday wishes, and the servers sang Happy Birthday. Perfect!!

All my favorites were as good as always - excellent wine list and good suggestions from the somellier, duck pate en croute - unbelievable, Brune Landaise chicken out of this world - excellent with the french fries which are to die for, and our very favorite dessert - Isle Flotant! Can't do better!

We had a group of 6 and were very disappointed in all aspects of the restaurant. The waiter seemed more interested in pouring as much wine as possible rather than listening to who actually wanted a glass of wine. The food was ordinary high end food.

The food is terrific but it's very expensive. Chicken and desserts are actually extraordinary. It was way too cold and a little too noisy. The tables are close together so you hear everyone's conversation. But, oh that chicken...definitely worth it once or twice a year.

Our chicken (house special) was fantastic. Probably the most moist chicken I ever ate and sauce delicious. Service attentive and excellent wine list. Will definitely go back and recommend. Finally someone who can cook a chicken!!!!

We had two bottles of amazing French Burgundy. Started with gazpacho. Then, a whole freaking chicken, side of mushrooms and spinach green salad. And finished with a vanilla crusted dessert that was off the rails. Just incredible.

I hadnt been in a little while and was hoping it was still outstanding. Happily it is still great. Chicken and frites is still an excellent dish, Lauren had the lemon chicken which was also really good although a little dry. The big surprise for me was the mushroom souffle which I culd have had as a whole meal.

And P.S.: whatever butter you're using, its fantastic.

Chicken and Duck , as well as desserts were delicious. Service was great. However I am regret to say that I am giving this restaurant 4.5 stars because our knives were dull and my glass was chipped.

There was sand in our leeks appetizer and instead of apologizing the chef said it was “mineral salt.” Funny— it didn’t taste salty. Only sandy.

My dining experience at Le Coq Rico was fabulous! We were seated right away. Our waiter was knowledgeable, bright and funny too. He was a superb server. As it was our first time at the restaurant, he helped guide us through the menu and recommended excellent choices. We loved our meal. The restaurant is stunning. Charming and the ambience was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely go again!

I had lunch here with a friend. He had the special-Coq Au Vin and I had the quarter chicken. We shared the amazing dessert, Ll Flotare! We had a great time. Food was good and I have to give a special shout out to our waiter who was very good. Our water was always filled.

My rating has fallen from 5 stars on every measure, to an average of two stars..

I have loved this restaurant since the day it opened. The roast chicken is the best I have ever eaten outside my own home. The salad dressing is so simple so I cannot explain why, but it is amongst the best salads I have ever eaten. As for the chocolate profiteroles: OMG!!

HOEVER, the last two times I ate at Coq Rico the quality of the food had deteriorated, especially this week. Although my chicken tasted great, it was cold.. the au jus/gravy was served with skin on its surface.

I noted that on both occasions when I was disappointed, the famous chef /owner was not there.

I will return to Coq Rico, because hope springs eternal... maybe they will see this review and make some changes. I really hope they do.

Absolutely fabulous. Leek appetizer was heaven. Table shared a bird (of the athletic variety) and a duck confit. Spectacular. Great décor. Great service. Loved wines. Even the iced tea was special. DO GO!

Absolutely perfect in every way as we have come to expect. Chef Wasserman is simply brilliant and the staff is the best trained and most knowledgeable and hospitable you will come across. We will be back soon Thank you for a genius meal.

I arrived about 30 minutes early to the restaurant but since it was empty, the hostess was nice enough to sit us as soon as in everyone of the party arrived. The food and service was great as always. The server's wine pick was great and definitely complemented our appetizer and main course well. Would definitely come back again soon!

Friendly efficient staff providing excellent food in a very comfortable setting. It’s nice to eat in a NY restaurant that doesn’t think that being so noisy you can’t partake in any conversation is an indication of how much fun everyone must be having. But why are the seats against the wall so low?

We sat at the kitchen counter and at first it was much too warm (being so close to the featured ovens). The staff was very accommodating in relocating us. The menu was simple, but the taste was complex. The chicken was the star and it was exquisite. A hit for sure.

Service was really nice and food in general is ok, just unfortunately the chickens that we had that night was a bit too dry. Though I’d recommend going back to give it another try with small parties.

My wife and I reserved well in advance for a birthday celebration, and understood we had to confirm the day before, which we did. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was shuttered, with a sign on the door saying it would not be open that day, with no explanation. Now, I think it is only decent for a restaurant, especially one that demands that the customer confirm, to take steps to inform the customer (surely they could have emailed us with apologies) that it will not be available on the appointed day. Yet we heard nothing from them, either before the time of our reservation or after. This was a most disappointing occurrence for us, and we think Le Coq Rico behaved entirely unprofessionally.
