On Valentine's day we are serving a dinner menu for two at $225 or $90 per person family dinner for parties of 3 and more. Visit our website or call the restaurant with any questions.
Even better than I remember and I had fond memories. Our waiter steered us to excellent choices of food and drink. Loved the portobello mushroom steam rolls for a change and shaken beef as always. Can’t wait to come back!
Very comfortable seating and of course a wonderful selection of interesting items on their menu, made for a wonderful evening with our friends from Los Angeles and London.
What a special place. Amazing food and service, but the building itself is totally unique. And the lighting! Wow!
This is one of our favorite restaurants in SF. The food is outstanding and the interior space is so inviting.
We have a lot of food restrictions in our family (gluten, dairy), but this is one of the few restaurants in the City where that rarely interferes with what we want to order.
New Year’s Eve fixed price menu was delicious. Service by Jose was perfect. Couldn’t ask for anything more from this lovely restaurant.
Yummy dinner! The only negative it was freezing in the restaurant and not cozy.....I think they kept the doors open due to covid but man it was chilly. Still love LC and have been going there for many years.
awesome recommendation from my business partner! food, service great
Always a treat to eat at LaColonial when we visit San Francisco. Great food and drinks. Only complaint was that we hadn't finished our appetizer and cocktails when our dinners were delivered. Will be back.
Don't know if its the pandemic or what. Our last visit was Jan 2019 and was great. This time fewer menu offerings, out of some wine by the glass, garlic noodles were doughy, Mexican coffee was lukewarm and it took 25 minutes after being seated to even see a waiter or get a glass if water
Beautiful and delicious — one of our very favorite places for a celebration!
A last minute booking for dinner but what a find!!! Le Colonial is in a beautiful old building located up a side alley. It’s interior is very atmospheric and welcoming. The food was superb and the waiting staff were perfectly attentive. I highly recommend it. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in San Francisco
Le Colonial is an excellent Vietnamese restaurant with one of the nicest outdoor accommodations I’ve seen. The food is very tasteful and exceptionally well prepared with large portions. The prix fixe was more than enough for four. We did choose two premium meals (steak and fish) but it was worth the extra charge. Service is friendly and efficient. Prices are a bit high, but the quality and portions are more than worth it.
Le Colonial has been one of our favorites for years. This is the first time that we ordered the prix-fixe menu for 6 people. It was great and had more than enough food. It was a good way for our guests to experience some of Le Colonial's specialties.
Such a nice place for special dinner… food good… service good…all around a favorite in SF
Excellent ambiance, food and service. Our waiter was exceptional and very attentive to every detail!
Food was fantastic; atmosphere very nice; not cheap but what you'd expect for that quality in that neighborhood. Service a little off; one side forgotten, waiter a bit aggressive about drinks orders
Food was as good as I remember it being pre-pandemic. We enjoyed the ‘dinner for 4’ which gave us a good variety of all if our favorites and LOTS of leftovers to go.
Wonderful relaxed night out dining on the patio
We had a fabulous time! First we got a corner table in the back with banquette as we had requested. The restaurant was full for it was Thanksgiving but the service was excellent (Leanne our server was attentive and very good). But the food! OMG it was so good and abundant! We chose the $85.00 menu and glad we did. We had to take food home there was so much. The Imperial rolls were delicious, the sea bass, the beef….. and on and on. We will definitely come back.
Was a rip off for the amount of food on the TDay set meal.
Never again! Lol to me
Amazing experience. We celebrated Thanksgiving here with a multi course menu. Each course was unique - I especially loved the prawn appetizer, sea bass and garlic noodles. I can’t believe I’ve never visited before but now I’ll go back again and again. Service was outstanding with the Manager periodically stopping by to check in on everything. Ambience was also perfect and reminded me of restaurants in Vietnam. This is definitely a culinary destination for any Bay Area resident who is seeking a fabulous meal.
Food excellent as well as service! Had the seafood papaya salad sea bass and brussel sprouts. They have a new chef and he is doing great. Missed the Gigi cocktail and pork belly appetizer
IT was a pleasure to eat at Le Colonial, delicious food, wonderful service and a great colonial architecture vibe
We had great meal with great service outside. Was chill, felt like we had lots of space.
The sea bass was off, the other dishes were OK, and the service was marginal because it was packed on Saturday. For $500, I wish I had gone somewhere else.
We had 9 people and the prix fixe was ample and easy.
Dinner was spectacular in every way (wow, the sea bass!). We’ll be back next time!
Great restaurant wonderful service and a good value. Charming decor.
lovely old colonial world ambiance and wonderful food. Service was a bit spotty but generally friendly and competent. I'd go back.
delicious food. service a bit slow but nice waiter. expensive but delicious
Thought I would try something different while in town. I really didn't know what to expect, but boy was I glad I came here. The food was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and the ambiance of the space was great. Will definitely go back when I'm in town again.
Team enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was terrific!
Le Colonial has a new chef, and the food and service are better than ever.
La comida estaba bien, pero fue el peor servicio de la historia! Por eso jamás lo recomendaría ni regresaría!
The atmosphere gave off a very chill vibe with the dim lightning and candles at every table. It gave off a very cozy vibe with very cool interior design that is inspired by French architecture, which I loved.
The service was superb and the waiter was very nice!
I went on a date during restaurant week so I had a very nice 4 courses meal for 65$, which I think was very good value given the quality of the food!
Didn’t have a chance to take the pictures of the food because that might had made things awkward for the date.
Highly recommended for a family dinner or bring your date here!
Very good but over priced.
Delicious as always. Service started a touch slow but was great thereafter
The service was awful - even comic. After being seated, I immediately gave my drink order. It took 20 minutes to arrive. In the interim I was asked three times for my dinner order. Each time I explained that I wanted to drink my drink, then order dinner.
I ordered a four course dinner and a glass of wine. The wine didn't come until the second course. After that course and a considerable delay I was brought dessert. I explained that I had not yet had my main course. Almost immediately my main course arrived.
At least the food was quite good.
Overall, nice ambience and cool spot. However, the service was terrible. It took us 2.5 hours to get all of our food and our waiter stopped by maybe 3 times over this entire time period. They also served me the wrong dish and I couldn't even wave down a waiter to help me. Food was also mediocre.
Unique spot but I'd never come back just based on the service.
There were four of us in our party and we each had the brunch menu. The service and food were excellent. We will definitely be back!
