Amazing food, service was a little hectic, and table was a little tight, but would highly recommend
One of the best foie gras dishes I've ever had and I've had a lot of them throughout the U.S. and Europe!
Perfect as always
Hadn't been since Jean Claude passed away. So grateful the menue was, for the most part, entact qith the same high quality of deliciousness. Well done.
First time going here and it was perfect. The hostess was nice enough to give us a booth in the back because the seating up front is a bit tight but the food was perfect. Everything was delicious. Friendly staff and amazing food.
Upon arrival we knew the restaurant would be memorable!
Decor, and small space made us feel like we were in fact somewhere in Paris!
Our table was ready and waiting for us
Staff was smiling and only wanted to make sure all was to our liking!
Onion soup, steak frites, rack of lamb!
A very traditional brasserie not to miss!
Great place for great food and great time! Will be back
Absolutely incredible, favorite restaurant in Chicago.
The fantastic food and excellent service will make you overlook how loud the space is.
Classic French bistro done extremely well. Well trained and attentive service.
As good if not better than before the Pandemic. Every detail from food to service was above and beyond.
Enjoyed our apps, entrees and wine selection.
We dined in 2019 and everything we experienced and were served was outstanding. We couldn’t wait to go back. Our last dining experience was disappointing, however. Quality slipped. My chicken was perfect in 2019, yesterday’s was over salted, over cooked, skin lacked the heavenly moist crisp texture, and the presentation was sloppy - overly sauced which turned my plate into a soupy unappetizing mess. The frog legs and the bread were slightly over cooked. Sea Trout salad was good. Service was unusually slow. There were no decorations for the Bastille day holiday. The room and front window could also use a good cleaning. Our tab, without wine was around $200. We are hard pressed to go back for a while.
We all agreed this was in our top 5 all time meals. It was a perfect setting, lively and quaint, to enjoy outstanding food with great friends.
Great food. Excellent service.
Staff was very friendly, restaurant is small and uses all the space it has. Food was incredible, would definetly go again. Be sure to reserve a table early as they book up fast.
Wonderful and authentic French bistro! Food was amazing and service was equally terrific. Can't wait to go back!
Great food. Nice ambiance. Good waiters. Would highly recommend.
Great food and nice staff.
My favorite French restaurant in Chicago!
Heather is the most amazing server! Be sure to request her section. French ambiance and fabulous food; it feels like home.
Truly excellent: fried crab appetizer was as perfectly light as any I’ve ever had and wonderfully sweet; the pastry wrapped fish is just great. Happy to strongly recommend Le Bouchon.
We have been coming there for years. Always great.
Excellent food. This place have been around for a long while. Worth the experience.
What a gem. Simply the best
Best french food in town. Loved every bite. Delicious
Great food, great service. It was cozy and comfortable for a smaller space. The gravy for the duck...(chef's kiss) and I loved my chocolate mousse dessert. My buddy and I will definitely return.
Amazing Lyon style French cuisine. Romantic ambiance. Very friendly service.
Simply incredible every time! That steak n frites oh man-so good! And the duck was worth the wait!! The creme brûlée, to die for and the service, above no other!! Thank you once again for a memorable meal!! Xoxo
Busy night but food and drinks came so quickly. Lovely time as always!
Fantastic all around - great service and great food. Can’t wait to go back.
We dined at Le Bouchon for my husband's 72nd birthday. We arrived when the restaurant opened at 5:00pm. We were the first party to arrive and had a reservation. They sat us at a table in the back of the room directly next to the prep/silverware station. We asked nicely to be moved to the front of the room where there were several empty tables. They said no, that they were saving the table we pointed at for a party of four. We were a party of three so still needed a table for four. They didn't offer us an alternative table.
We sat down and for the first 10 minutes, we were interrupted several times because naturally the servers had to collect glasses, plates, and silver for each table of patrons, causing noise and distraction. We asked if we could be moved to another table. They grumpily accommodated us by seating us at a table in the front, not the original table we requested, which was fine. Their resistance to our calm requests was perplexing because we arrived early, no other party was in the restaurant and by the time we moved tables, almost all tables were still empty. Weird and unfortunate because, like I said, we were there to celebrate a big birthday. The server who spoke Spanish to my husband was very nice and attentive. He wasn't our assigned server but took the time to chat with us. I know it has been a hard year for restaurants and servers but our requests were minimal and could easily have been accommodated.
thanks for the great meal everyone, we’ll certainly come back next time we can handle a food coma.
Been going there for years. So glad to see they haven't lost a step due to Covid. Welcome back.
We had a taste for steak frites and Le Bouchon delivered well. Escargot, apple tart and crème brûlée were also excellent. The service was great and we appreciated the half price bottle of wine on Monday. Although the noise level was more than we would like, we will certainly return to enjoy the charm, good food and service.
Everything on the menu is incredible. Wines are amazing. Staff is Super friendly.
My first time eating French food and it was delicious especially the frog legs. The service was also amazing and everyone was so nice.
I had been to Le Bouchon a few years ago and came back recently to celebrate a birthday, and the food was even more incredible than I had remembered! They make most of the charcuterie board items in house, and the whole roasted duck is more than worth the hour long wait. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and the wine list, and super friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves French food, it’s up there with the best meals I’ve had in Paris.
This spot has got a very French feel, the bistro is small and pretty packed (always a good sign) and the food is delicious. We had the escargot, onion tart, trout and gnocchi- it was all wonderful. We can’t wait to head back! Monday nights are half price wine by the bottle!
I traveled from Rockford for a special lunch and my whole experience was divine. The crust on the french onion soup was brittle and flavorful, and the bread in the broth was crunchy. The steak frites with garlic butter surpassed my expectations. The steak was even more tender and flavorful than the ones I ate in France. The portions of both the soup and the entree were generous in size. I ordered the chocolate mousse to go and the flavor of it was transcendental and sublime. I ate it with a tiny spoon to savor the rich flavor and texture, and the amount was enough food for 2 desserts for me. The ambience was intimate and authentic, complete with soft French music and an understated upscale style. The charming chef offered exceptional personal service. Lunch at le bouchon was a sensual and pampering experience. I will certainly be back for more.
Le Bouchon is a wonderful restaurant. The food is amazing, the service great, and the atmosphere is that of a bistro in France. It’s unpretentious and celebratory at the same time.
