Wonderful place for a celebration. Great neighborhood staple.
we closed the place down on saturday night. we had no intention of staying so late, but the wait staff was incredibly patient and didnt make a peep. we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service and ambiance, etc but i REALLY wanted to say a big THANK YOU to our server and the other servers who were so incredibly kind and patient. they did not make us feel badly at all. my friends and i were so engrossed in our conversation that we had no idea that the place had cleared out. they could have flicked the lights or put the chairs on the tables for us to get the hint. but they allowed us the enjoy our time completely. i just wanted to commend our server for her patience and good spirit and next time we wont dilly dally like we did saturday night! :)
In the dozen times that I’ve eaten at this restaurant it’s hard to remember one meal or even one dish that wasn’t superb. Over 20 years and has consistently been not the best neighborhood restaurants in the city.
I live in Wisconsin but love this restaurant so much my wife and I travel to Chicago to enjoy the food and the friendly staff
Something’s gone awry in the kitchen
Been coming here for years
Soup of the day tasted like flour w butter and milk
Fries were horrible cut up pieces
Classic bistro-everything was delicious. Get ready for butter festival, if you are new to Le Bouchon. Otherwise always a great dining experience.
Always so great ! The service and food are always 5 stars.
Great rabbit potpie and cassoulet. Comforting especially in winter. Service top notch.
The food was excellent, as usual. Our server, who we have had multiple times, is attentive and friendly.
Excellent service and very authentic French food.
We had a lovely evening there in late December. Our server was amazing. The wines available for 1/2 priced bottle night blew us away. The menu was very traditional bistro fare but nonetheless prepared well and excellent tasting.
We would go there more often if it were closer to our house. A real treat
Always an amazing experience! Great food and exceptional service.
Unfortunately the restaurant was beyond full. Obviously a great sign that the place is popular. But with the limited space and noise it was just a bit much. Our server was fantastic.
My favorite restaurant in all of Chicago! Go "Team Le Bouchon"!
Phenomenal service. Food was outstanding (as always)
I eat out a lot and everything I have ever had there to eat was wonderful and generally their wine selection allows for good pairing Love everything about the place except the noise level. Would have no issue with them raising their prices and reducing the number of people they serve at one time. One of my guests from last time said they should change names with Sardine
Food is delicious. It is too salty however. It would be perfect if less salty!
Le Bouchon is wonderful; the best kind of homey and inviting French cuisine that is so inviting on cold winter nights. Bright and welcoming, with everyone laughing and speaking loudly and drinking wine. The quarters are small, but not uncomfortable. The staff is friendly. The drinks were light, and the food heavy with butter and garlic as only French food can be.
Fantastic love the vibe .. intimate food great . Staff wonderful
Always fantastic. Go on a Monday! Every bottle of wine is half price!
This is easily one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The chefs here just do everything slightly better than everyone else.
Great food , great wine, and great service
Wonderful food and great service!
Food was fabulous. Service was excellent. Claire was great. Can’t wait to go back.
Cozy French Bistro.
We went on a Wednesday to avoid the weekend crowd. Pretty empty when we arrived at 6:15 and were seated right away. By 7:30 the place was almost full. It is a small space, maybe 60 seats. Make a reservation unless you are prepared to wait. Excellent ambiance, service and food. Extensive wine list and if you are into wine, go on a Monday because ALL wines by the bottle are half price. My wife and I had appetizers of escargot, mussels, and sweetbreads. Entrees of cassoulet and rabbit pot pie. Finished the apps and had to bring half of the entrees home. With our wine and the food we were satisfied. We had been there quite a while ago as it was as great as we remembered.
Excellent meal and attentive service. We sat near the door and it was drafty so that was disappointing. No valet but our dining experience was good.
Our second time dining at Le Bouchon and just when I thought it couldn’t be any better, they outdid themselves. Absolutely amazing meal. They were pretty busy because of their pre fix special, but that did not have any negative impact on the evening. Cannot wait time visit again.
Great food, great wine and great service! Moderately priced. What else is there to say? Truly one of our favorite restaurant experiences.
Favorite restaurant and it always delivers.
We think the waitress was not happy because we were not drinking alcohol. Her tone and manners changed dramatically after we declined to have wine.
Food was just ok.
Excellent neighborhood bistro.
Food almost authentic Lyon fair... desserts leave a little to be desired but overall a decent meal
Food fabulous as always! Heather was an outstanding server!
Fantastic as always. Josh was incredibly helpful,
As always, this place never disappoints. Great food, service and ambiance!
Really outstanding food with such a cozy atmosphere. I had the celery root soup with apples and pine nuts - delicious! There were 3 of us for dinner: one had the trout in puff pastry, another had the rabbit pot pie and I had the baked chicken with Robuchon potatoes. All 3 were excellent!
Excellent as always. Food never disappoints and tonight’s dishes of Trout and Steak Frites were delicious. Highly suggest making reservations as it is a small place.
Rushed french onion soup with half melted cheese
Barely any rabbit in the pot pie
