“Le Bistro is that rare dining establishment that conveys ma-and-pa-type warmth, reflecting the earnest efforts of owners” (Miami Herald)
“The food is stunning” (Gordon Ramsey)
What a gem! Mouth-watering dishes, perfectly prepared. Diverse wine selection. Don’t let the generic strip mall fool you. Once inside, you’re transported to France. We couldn’t believe we were the only diners on a Friday evening, however early. One of my best friends is a Master French Chef, and this menu rivals everything I’ve tried by trying meals prepped by him and his colleagues. A stupendous alternative to standard chain restaurant fare in the area. Pompano Beach locals - EAT HERE! You don’t know what you’re missing!
This is a lovely small neighborhood gem of a restaurant. The food was surperb and presented well. The service was excellent. If you are in Ft. Lauderdale, this should be on your list as a place to eat.
Great food and flavour with nice staff. Would go any time. Good value too.
First time visit at lunch time. Had a Thanksgiving menu. Small, very friendly and timely service. Best feature is that the portions were perfect - no leftovers to leave or take. When we finished eating we were full but not stuffed. Some original drinks and dishes. Even in special menu, had something for everything. Outstanding pecan pie: warm, thin crisp crust, packed w pecans and caramel. Delicious lavender champagne. Friendly customers that chat with each other exchanging tips on what to order. With advance notice can place some special orders.
This place is always great for fine French like dining. Never a complaint from anyone I took there.
This is a fabulous hidden gem! We dine here every other week, it’s so good.
Le Bistro continues to impress me. Food is ALAWAYS amazing. I love the owners. So friendly and warm. My go to place when in south Florida.
Excellent meal and wine. Pleasantly quiet even on a weekend. A nice palate cleanser between courses was included.
We love coming to Le Bistro and enjoy the food every time. Simply a wonderful location and friendly owners and staff.
It was “fine”; everything was “fine.” Just don’t think the value was there to make it a place we would visit often.
Had the opportunity to try this place during Crave Fort Lauderdale and so glad we did! Highly recommend the mushroom soup, Bee Pollen salad, wild mushroom risotto and the salmon. Save room for dessert.
Underwhelmed with crave menu. Most items on main course were 45. Not 35.and the menu said 39. Kind of misleading. Ford was good for the most part but nothing special. The steak Diane sauce tasted like the mushroom soup I ordered. Chocolate mousse was MEH
I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant- the food is beyond spectacular! Fresh baked bread, wonderful wine selection... I love Le Bistro!
had not so good experience. we (2 couples) seated near the walkway to kitchen. servers kept bumping into my chair asking me to "pull in" . should have been moved as restaurant was only75% full
also the meals: appetizers were excellent.
entrees: not so. my lamb was medium and a asked for rare. another had the fish (no salmon so they used snapper) but it too was over-cooked and dry. duck was good but lacked a flavorful sauce
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The atmosphere, food and service were outstanding.
Would a got a 5 star if it wasn't for the rude server
Overwhelming positives- THE FOOD: mushroom soup, the cauliflower steak , the bouillabaisse, the creme brûlée were all delicious and beyond expectations. Prepared with expertise at an elevated level.
Negatives- very hot inside and repeated requests to waiter to lower AC did not result in a bearable environment for dinner. Eventually, a nice woman manager lowered it to make the temp comfortable to enjoy the food.
The bread was below par and below the otherwise elevated food experience.
Also, it was a busy night and our entree ticket got misplaced behind later arrivals. My entree of seared scallops appeared raw ( not translucent but raw and barely seared). I asked for them to. To be properly cooked and was told this is seared and how they cook them. When they returned from the kitchen the scallops were broken and the plating a mess... very unappetizing. I've had seared scallops at many fine restaurants and know how they should be prepared. I was unhappy with how this was handled and it marred a otherwise wonderful food experience.
However.... despite the scallops experience, try this restaurant for really great food , delicious ingredients expertly prepared, but you may want to wait til the cooler fall weather.
Only table - no other diners. That should have told us
Service and Food were outstanding
Mother's Day. Evening dinner. Restaurant not busy.6 tables. 2 waiters, neither seem to know much about "fine dining ". Food was good, not great, but good. Appetisers came fairly quickly, but after one and a half hours no sign of main course. We ordered Beef Wellington, so OK, 30 maybe 40 mins ( we ordered as soon as we walked in ) the reason we were given for the long delay was that 3 people had ordered the same thing? It's a restaurant! After we had finished main course dessert was bought and at the same time the check, now their in a hurry. Altogether a very unsatisfactory experience.
Great food and quiet, lovely ambiance!
A terrific dining experience. Attentive, friendly service, nice wine list and lots of variety on Menu. Enjoyed two different bottles of white wine. Mushroom soup starter fabulous. Rack of lamb delicious, tender and perfectly prepared as ordered. Bronzino fish delightful. Comped chocolate moose desert enjoyed by all. A small, quiet spot in a small strip center off US 1. Easy to miss but would be a shame. Wonderful place. Strongly recommend.
Don’t be fooled by the facade of this restaurant, it’s nothing fancy from the outside but inside the food is fabulous. The menu had so many wonderful options. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. The staff is friendly and personable. I am a big fan of Beef Wellington, I’ve been all over the country trying to find a good one, I found the best Beef Wellington right here in Deerfield Beach, honestly, so perfectly cooked, high quality filet, there were no leftovers. The house made desserts did not disappoint. I’m surprised that there were no lines out the door, this is a quiet and quaint restaurant with a long history. I’m looking forward to returning.
We had a fabulous dinner here on our way back from a shopping excursion to Miami. We ordered the cauliflower steak appetizer and Steak Diane entry. They were both delicious. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful. Don't let the modest exterior fool you. I highly recommend dining here if you have the opportunity.
This restaurant is a keeper. The food is excellent. It's hard to find another place like that in the area.
Excellent food and service, very quiet. Will return!
Great food, service and ambiance
The food is excellent, the service was amazing. Will be back again. Chef creates exceptional tasteful dishes
The food coming out very slowly not sure about the wait
Great service. Delicious food
It was an excellent evening. It is a great place.
One of our favorite restaurant treats, always enjoyable dinner!
My husband said the lobster bisque was the best he has ever tasted. The lamb and beef wellington were fantastic. Most of all, the service was spectacular. We will most definitely be back!
Always wonderful food, exceptional service. A special evening.
Overall it was an enjoyable meal. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and the hostess recognized that when we walked in. We were seated at a generously sized table for the 4 of us. The menu was appealing, lacking any chicken dishes and an emphasis on beef and a few classic French dishes, such as escargot. We were disappointed that the 3 course fixed price menu featured on the website was not available (there was a 6 course tasting menu for more than double the price.) With 3 tables of 8+ in the dining room, the two waiters were overworked and service was not as attentive as I would expect at this price level. The food was very tasty, the Steak Dianne sauce was well prepared, the beef very well flavored, I had the short rib which was very tender. The cauliflower steak was a huge tasty appetizer. The diver scallop appetizer had a deliciously cheesy sauce. The mushroom soup and escargot were both well prepared and enjoyable. The only complaint about the food was the birthday boy ordered Dover sole for the first time and didn't realize there was a "gamey" part of the fish, which he would have preferred not served. The chocolate mousse and chocolate mousse were delicious endings.
The food was a work of art. Amazing! You have to try it. Small quaint family owned restaurant. We had the goat cheese and honey appetite along with the steak tartare. Oxtail and duck were our main courses. Dessert was the chocolate moose. I can't say enough about the food, just try it.
We went to Le Bistro because it is one of the few restaurants in South Florida that still serves Beef Wellington. You have to order it for 2 people since what they do is make a single large portion and give one-half to each person. The portion is quite large, I'd say it was 8-10 ounces of meat per person. Beef Wellington is usually a filet or similar covered in mushrooms and baked in a pastry shell with a sauce such as a Perigorde served on the side. This one was cooked perfectly, medium rare. If comes with some cooked green beans. We had a Caesar salad to start, very tasty. For desert we had the apple tart with ice cream, very good, not too sweet, could have used a bit more powdered sugar on the top. The entree is one of the most expensive on their menu, $44 per person for the Beef Wellington ($88 for 2). The remainder of the menu had some interesting items but this is the first time we dined here so haven't tried anything else yet.
Started off with the cauliflower steak. I did not know that cauliflower could taste this good. Everything worked together to make this excellent. The entrée was Scottish Salmon that was cooked to perfection. There was a nice crispy crust that enhanced this to the best I have tasted. The wine was a nice Pinot Noir that paired with both perfectly. The desert was a chocolate mousse that ended the night to perfection. Chef Andy and the rest of the team there made this a night to remember
This restaurant, located in a strip mall, is a hidden gem. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The service was perfect from start to finish-not intrusive but watchful. The menu was interesting, with a twist on some favorites. The steak Diane was excellent, with one of the best sauces we have ever had. The duck was tender with a delightful sauce as well. Wines were good, and there is a nice wine list. Do not skip dessert - excellent preparation and presentation. It is expensive, but you get quality for your money. That is what we look for. We will go back and bring friends.
