Guests can finish a meal at Le Bistro with a serving of strawberry russe for two.
It is hard to follow a legend like Jean Pierre, fortunately for us, David has taken over the restaurant and putting to good use the years of experience running the dinning room. The menu and format are very much the same as well as the quality of the presentations and food.
Le Bistro has always been a special place as one of the best Bistros in America, and it is wonderful to see David carrying on the tradition.
The food was excellent although, sadly, the chef is about to retire. The restaurant is not crowded with closely spaced tables but the noise level is high. The ambience reflects that is located in a skiing area but that's fine and expected. The five course menu was excellent with reasonable portions that don't leave you stuffed and a large number of choices. Our party of four sampled a number of choices and all were rated excellent. The wine list included a number of half-bottles which allowed us to accommodate all our tastes. Highly recommended but get there soon.
Wonderful food from a neighborhood stalwart - so bummed this was our last meal here as it is closing. and Liesl and Dave are the BEST servers anywhere... good wine list, unbelievable French food. Don't miss it.
Classic French food, thoughtfully prepared and charmingly presented-- as close as one could get to a top-flight French bistro (although the food is perhaps more sophisticated than most bistros traditionally offer) outside of France. The prix fixe menu and wine pairings are an astonishingly good value, half of what a similar experience would cost in a city....if you could find it. We're so glad we had this experience, as the chef is retiring very soon. A lovely, lovely memory.
Lovely meal! Classic French with a touch of effective innovation, nice presentation, good pacing, attentive service, flawless preparation. Not a bargain meal, but I would judge it well worth the price.
