Amazing food, good service, good came out faster than what I thought. Will definitely be back
The service was great, the food was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! My only complaint is that they were out of about half of the menu items. I understand that's not necessarily something that they can help once they're in the middle of service, but they definitely could have expected to be busy over Valentine's Day weekend.
Again, it didn't affect the service or the quality of what we did order, it was just extremely disappointing that my top 4 choices AND my date's top two were completely sold out.
First time at Le Bistro. Mixed feelings. The setting was ideal for a date night with a significant other. Great wine and beer selection, and the fresh bread + butter spread was delicious. However, we were incredibly underwhelmed with the steak filet at $47 for this dish. Would not recommend splurging as we did for a celebratory night on that meal. Overall, nice ambiance for a date night, but the high-priced menu options may not be worth it
We have always had wonderful service at Le Bistro. We loved that they offered holiday specials on the days surrounding the holiday so that there wasn't only one option to enjoy their special menus. The service was incredible and the food exceeded expectations.
Fantastic atmosphere along with great food!
The staff was so rushed to get each table in and out quickly (bc it seemed like the place was overbooked...) that we were not given forks for our main course, we had to ask for napkins, and we were never asked if we would like a different drink than water or spoken more than two words by the wait staff. We both had the Valentine’s Day special 4 course meal. We both left hungry. Our steaks were both greatly overdone and my wife’s filet was about 1/2 inch thick... quite sad for an upscale filet mignon. Overall, this place has been both amazing and greatly disappointing for us in the past. This evening in particular was overpriced and underwhelming. I’d advice avoiding especially during special events such as Valentine’s Day.
It was actively unpleasant - a miserable high-top table with uncomfortable seating, cold draft blowing around. Waiting 30 minutes between courses. You can't charge $180 for two people and serve mediocre food, and serve it so slowly and ineptly. Plenty of servers standing around chatting with each other... is the hold up in the kitchen? How long does it take to steam some carrots and pull a steak out of the sous vide? The meal was like being tortured. I wouldn't eat there again if it was free. By any objective measure that restaurant is a failure. If I was that bad at my job I'd be fired the same day.
Dinner before going to the Marshall Artist Series
Prix fixe menu was delicious . Service with Rachel as our server was excellent
We did not have to wait for our table
We really like the homemade garlic herb butter and warm bread as a starter
The Bruschetta appetizer was fantastic: some of the best bruschetta we have ever had
Only complaint it was a cold evening and every time the door opened cold air would flood in !
Great food, beautiful surroundings, relaxed atmosphere, quiet enough for an informal business meeting, good service, and adequate close-up parking. A perfect evening.
It was a great experience, food was wonderful and our server was so great.
Our food was delicious and our waitress was very attentive
The quantity and quality of the courses were not sufficient to justify the $100 per person price tag. When guests are charged such a high amount, they tend to not be repeat customers. Portions were very small and disappointing.
The food was good and service was great. The noise level was very loud, which made conversation a bit challenging at times.
Great service and food
Avoid going there on Graduation Days. Food was backed up at the chef level and the wait was over an hour until we were served and of course my meal was missing items that were supposed to be on the menu. Our waitress did keep us up to date on the progress so I did tip her for her efforts and shared our frustrations. Don’t eat here during Marshall’s graduation weekends!
This is the fourth and final time I will take customers here. We ordered our lunch at 12:10 and it was served at 12:55 - we waited 45 minutes!! And the restaurant was half full. They continue to use the same excuses each visit - “ we’re very busy today” or “ we make all of our entrees from scratch” HA! They simply refuse to hire enough kitchen staff. If you are retired or on vacation and have time for a 1.5 hour lunch, then this is this is the place for you!
I actually love this restaurant, but went on a Tuesday evening and maybe it was the cooks day off. My food was salty and not warm but was ok. Then again, it could have been what I ordered...the shrimp and grits. It wasn't the best I've had.
But I have eaten here at other times and it was very good. So I'm going back. I'll order something different.
We would never have found Le Bistro without Open Table. It's interesting that it was the first place to come up in a search for a restaurant in Charleston, WV, and it's at least twenty miles away (it was on our way, so that wasn't a problem).
Our server/bartender, Wes, did an outstanding job of making cocktails, recommending wine and food, and generally giving us an excellent experience. The next time we pass through Barboursville at mealtime, we will definitely return to Le Bistro.
This was our first time at this fine little establishment, and my wife and I loved it. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long while—and I’m from New Orleans and have traveled extensively through Europe. Le Bistro is a gem, and we cannot wait to return!
As always, great service and great food!!
I had heard a lot about the food here. Of the 6 who ordered 4 jad to send food back. My salad went back twice due to the kitchen not sending out the correct order.
The server was ok but did not come back w bread and or check up on us during our 45min wait for our dinner.
Its unusual for me not to like something, so location to downtown on the square was great.
Could not get any help after getting my drink(bottle of wine) i could not get any help as my appetizer was ice cold almost frozen..after multiple attempts to get my server, I walked out. I had 3 sips of wine and one bite of my crab cake..very disappointing. Never got to see, much less eat my entree and dessert I had ordered.
Our server was fantastic!! Food was awesome! We will definitely be back and will bring friends.
Second time at Le Bistro
Wine list extensive with excellent choices
Pear vinaigrette salad delicious and outstanding
Shrimp and grits appropriately spicy with a creamy sauce
Server excellent !
This was a boisterous group of 7. Server was extremely patient and GOOD to us. Everyone enjoyed the food a d group company on what appeared to be a slow night for Me Bistro
It was our wedding anniversary so we decided to go to a nice place. We picked Le Bistro and it was the best experience so far since we moved to Huntington. The food was absolutley amazing. We recomend this place for special celebrations or for anytime if you want to eat something good.
This is a lovely place. The food is often very good. Rating is based on last two visits, where steak was incorrectly cooked and minor glitches. It is such a lovely venue and we had a good waitress on our latest visit.
Love Le Bistro! Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion! Father's Day was perfect!
Great food and service! Loved the seasonal gazpacho. Our server was able to get me the recipe!
Had 1:30 res. Was 1:55 by the time we saw a waitress. Our food hit the table at 3:00. I understand Mothers day is going to be slow, but no excuse for this. I have had many good meals with good service here, but this was like it was their first day. Our 3 meals were good, ok and poor. BTW no one ever so much as said sorry about the slow service.
The food was good but there was an hour wait for food with little communication from staff. Refilled the drinks once but long stretches would go by without a word. Disappointed.
I took my mother here for Mother's Day brunch and it was fabulous. I particularly recommend the mimosas and Cajun Eggs Benne.
The wait staff was slow to come to the table. We were on time for our reservation and still waited 10 minutes to be seated. The food took 35 minutes to prepare. Then when the food finally did come, the wrong omelettes were on the plates and over cooked where they were under the warmer for too long.
We love bistro for special occasions! The food is always prepared perfectly and looks beautiful. They also have a great wine selection and knowledgeable staff.
Our food was delicious and we had great service. The atmosphere was pleasant and we had a nice anniversary dinner.
GREAT food and ambiance! Perfect for a date night or client dinner. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices definitely reflect quality - you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Easter dinner with family. We always have a wonderful experience when we visit lebistro
