Such a classic staple for fine dining in Alberta. So sad to see this restaurant go. It has been a pleasure to dine here over the years.

This restaurant needs a complete refurb I was very disappointed as I have visited Banff a number of times over 30 years and it is not how I remember it. The decor is drab and dated the staff white blouses were off white and worn. The menu was short and the food was 70s style. I ordered steak as we were in Alberta and it was not good. I suspect the sauces were out of a freezer bag. We ordered crepes for dessert and they had also been pre-made with a sickly sauce.

We love going to Le Beaujolais as we know it will be of the highest quality available in Banff. We have known Esther and Albert for years, and they always warmly welcome us when we return . Everything from the table settings to the ambience is tasteful, and the food and extensive wine list are never, ever a disappointment.

We are big fans of French food and had heard good things so this restaurant was an easy selection for our special dinner.

The location is nice and there are some great views from the large windows. The interior is very dated and aside from the impressive wine cellar it lacked character or charm. The bathrooms were very out of date as well. We were promptly greeted and seated along the window.

We were offered wine or a beverage and walked through the cocktail menu. Overall the wine list was comprehensive and the cocktails were refreshing.

On the whole service was good. There was nothing exceptional and the waits at times for water refills or to check on our food were a little long but the servers were very friendly and responsive when asked.

The food was below average overall. Several components of our dishes did not appear or taste house prepared such as the peppercorn sauce and the frites were clearly just basic frozen fries. The fish was not very fresh and tasted flat. Flat is actually a good word to describe all the dishes. No depth of flavour at all. The lobster pot pie was just boring to be honest.

Was it awful? No it wasn't. Was it worth the price? No it wasn't. Would I return? No I wouldn't.

We were so looking forward to our large holiday family meal here. Reservation made in advance, called to confirm, they knew we were bringing a infant, and yet looked at us with disdain when we arrived with two children in tow. The adults ordered cocktails, over half of us had appetizers, bottles of wine were ordered and pricey entrees by all. Aside from our server, the staff were unwelcoming and the pricey food was barely mediocre. Will not be going back.

We had a friends' Christmas brunch here and could not be more pleased. White linen tablecloths, fabulous champagne, and lovely 3 course meal. I had the beef tartar, crispy arctic char and Grand Marnier crepes. We all said it will be a repeat for all us. Merci!

Le Beaujolais was quite a find for people who like to try the tasting menu with a wine pairing. The food was not only delicious, but plentiful which I have rarely seen on a tasting menu. Additionally, the wine pairing was both complimentary to the courses but also, not tiny pours. This was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the meal. We did not have to sit and stare at our wine pairing while waiting for the food. We had enough wine in the glass that we could get through the course with a good idea of the pairing. I would definitely go back! Very enjoyable.

The champagne brunch is one of Banff's best kept secrets. It's beautiful, just like Beaujolais and their staff.
