Great food and nice relaxed atmosphere. French Onion Soup was the winner for the night
Delightful restaurant. Food excellent, service good, much noisier than I had anticipated.
The service was absurdly slow, our food was seeved cold, and after we asked the waiter to heat it for us it was served back cold again. No one offered to compensate us. We skipped dessert and went home.
Love this place. I come here often!
Ate here with four people for a birthday dinner early on a sat evening. Main courses were good and the menu had a good mix of options. House wine was poor with the white choice turning out to be a rather sweet sauvignon blanc. Service was poor and inattentive. Nice décor and layout but a little pricey for the whole experience.
It wasn't my first time time at Le Barricou but I LOVED IT! Great place for brunch! Loved the cozy feel, open bar and long tables. Very spacious. The Eggs Benedict was really good. The pancakes are TOTALLY worth the hype. It was so delicious even though it took around 40-45 minutes to make, IT IS WORTH IT! I will definitely come back with my friends for the pancakes again, BEST pancakes I ever had. Super fluffy and moist! I really like the strawberry butter along with the berries, it went very well with the pancakes! It's a must try at Le Barricou!
excellent spot for brunch food
great service and the food was divine
The food is good, especially at brunch, but we went for a special occasion and the service was so terrible that I can't imagine going again.
Came here for brunch with a party of 4, so we were able to try a lot of items on their brunch menu. Their pancakes are so fluffy and tastes phenomenal - just the right amount of crispy edges, buttery, and topped with strawberry buttercream! The coffee was good, but their teas all taste like water. We were happy with their Egg Benedict variations and selection (although the eggs came out cold) and the duck confit hash was good to share. Unfortunately, their service was absolutely HORRENDOUS... the older lady at the front (i assume to be the owner) was beyond rude! I waited 5 minutes just to be acknowledged, and even though she saw me, she kept ignoring me. Finally when I walked up, she made an face and said "ok, you need to move!" We were seated by another server at the back room, so I didn't see her again during my meal. It seems like they are understaffed, so some food came out cold and their service was very slow. The servers were not rude but lifeless, probably because they're all so tired and overworked!
Love the vibes there
Been coming here for family and friends reunions for years - never disappoints.
Love the food!! So good and decently priced! Come on a weekday tho, way less people.
came here all the way from new jersey after seeing countless photos of their pancakes on instagram. i have to admit that these were worth it! very inexpensive considering the quality of food and all of the hype surrounding them. we went on a random wednesday for brunch, so it was nice and quiet, but i can imagine weekend brunch may be crowded.
The food and service was pretty good. Good quality French food for the price, although the price of the food presented on opentable was different from the restaurant's prices.
the food is great but for the second time the kitchen was so slow and dinner was ridiculously long, our waitress was not even apologetic just matter of fact....it's too bad...we won't be back
Horrible horrible service
Quaint French bistro in Williamsburg. Lovely, efficient and unobtrusive service. Lamb ragôut was excellent! The portion was a tad bit on the small side but I'd definitely order it again. My companion devoured the duck confit. The creme brûlée was the perfect dessert. The restaurant is close to the G train - ideal for a leisurely stroll post dinner. Must come back to try the brunch menu.
It was great! I love this place.
I loved it! Everything was perfect, it's a place that I would definitely come back too!
Really good food. Perfect service.
Lovely ambiance, wonderful kind and polite staff, delicious food with a great choice of dishes at very reasonable prices - highly recommend!
Service was awful. Rude. Good food though
it was fair, the food was ok, the ambience kind of tired and dated, the back room is dark and dingy. Not my cup of tea, the prices were pretty reasonable though, the best thing we tried on the menu was the mac and cheese but that says a lot really, most people can cook a decent mac and cheese.
A pleasant find in a part of Williamsburg I hadn't been before. Great funky, old fashioned atmosphere, a European vibe with food to match. Excellent selection, good wine list and pleasant service from an interesting cast of characters. More than I expected and I'll be returning.
Horrible service - seems to be going downhill. And I got charged for a gingerale refill?! Come on. How cheap can you get?
We absolutely love this restaurant! I've been on my birthday, anniversary, and try to go whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Worth the trek from Queens. I highly recommend the escargot and the Green Beast cocktail. Also, and very importantly, the service is ON POINT. Best special occasion restaurant!
Nice cozy neighborhood restaurant. Food was good! Service was good!
Both my husband and I enjoyed the evening we spent there.
Really nice place and we were greeted warmly at the door. We sat at the bar as we were early for dinner. Nick, the bartender, was great. Good drinks and oysters were followed by hanger steak and the Berkshire pork chop. Food was excellent, and the service was even better.
Overall great French cuisine in a low-key setting. Great ambiance, but not stuffy at all.
Very enjoyable meal. Helpful friendly staff.
Comfortable atmosphere. We arrived early for our reservation and sat at the bar to wait for our friends . Fun bartender. Great drinks.
Really enjoyed meeting this restaurant's cool chef from Detroit! We wanted to compliment him on the perfection of our dining experience. From the beet salad & escargots starters to the luscious main course of Hake with beurre blanc and sorrels, every bite was divine. We loved this place...so happy to find a quintessential french bistro close to our new Brooklyn home. We will return and bring friends!
The Coq au Cin was DELECTABLE and very affordable!! We paired it with Green Beast cocktails and finished up with créme brûlée ...we'll be back for more and will tell everyone.
Waitress must have either been new or high. Didn't know what drinks we ordered, clearly forgot about our food because the manager came rushing over a Luke warm piece of meat, and when we ordered a carafe of wine she never brought it over. My wife and I love this place, but this will keep us away for a little while. (Escargot is still the best tho)
Food was delicious, limited menu but everything was spot on. This was our first time here for dinner and will be back!
I've been here so many times, it's a Williamsburg favorite for me. Brunch or dinner, both are always great.
Well worth the trip to Brooklyn. Hostess was a little confused but waitstaff and bar staff were great.
Had to send back food multiple times since not cooked through. Wait staff was very apologetic about it and did the best to remedy but will not be going back
I went with three other women. We all started off with french onion soup which was great. We were all pleased with our meals. One of my friends got a cocktail that was nothing like she expected. The waitress was really nice and took it back for her so she could get something she'd enjoy more. Friendly staff and great food!
My partner and I have dined here several times and we loved it each time. Every single dish we have tried has been outstanding. We love the oysters (esp. NY & Long Island), bone marrow appetizer and beet salad. Our favorite entrees are the skate, hanger steak and fries (actually it's more delicious than the more expensve cote du bouf), and grass fed burger. Brunch is also amazing, as are dessert. The house red wine is also deicious and not pricey. The flourless chocolate cake dessert is one of my favorite desserts in NYC. Service is perfect. Helpful but not intrusive. We will be regulars for sure.
Le Barricou has everything about it that ranks "good", four stars, which is sufficiently unusual in sum it ranks five stars. I have been there four or five times and find the experience very consistent.
