Le Baratin
Consistent quality of food and its presentation. The staff makes you feel like family
Le Baratin is consistently an amazing place for quality food and super fun ambiance. I highly recommend this place for any type of event!
great, dependable neighborhood place . consistently great food. best people.
We love this little French dive so much! Full of regulars from the neighborhood. Beautiful menu of traditional bistro fare. Spoke with a twist.
For the price charged, I shouldn’t have someone sitting in my lap. There should be space to move into the tAble. Way too loud. Wine selection not great.
Valentine’s Day
We went for Valentine’s Day dinner. Staff was great. Food excellent. It’s great for everyday dining as well. Highly recommend
Le Baratin never fails to charm. It’s like being in Paris at a local bistro.
This remains one of my wife and I’s favorite restaurants in the city.
Great atmosphere.
Very disappointed that the menu changed and does not have any charcuterie platter anymore.
Get there early when it’s somewhat quiet—maybe 6:00-6:30pm. Then drink enough wine so the increasing noise level won’t bother you! The food is always terrific and the service is fine.
The noise level ruined the all experience
Great French neighborhood restaurant. Food and staff excellent
Very cozy! Familiar! Kids friendly!! We were a group of 14. Make reservations with time!!
Very nice authentic French restaurant and excellent value for NYC. Would have provided 5 stars except that service was uncomfortably slow and the waiter seemed to be distracted having forgotten our wine. Coq au vin was just like home! Foie gras was superb.
I came here for a Christmas Eve dinner. Since it is not a big place, a reservation is recommended. Service was courteous although a little slow. Food was simply prepared but delicious; I had the escargots for the appetizer and poulet roti as the main course. However no holiday prix-fixe menu here in case anyone is looking for that option. A nice casual place to stop by.
Lovely dinner. Been here twice, once for brunch and then dinner. The key is to come early, it gets very loud after a certain point. It can be pricey. We would come more often if it were not. Our food has been delicious, we have found the waiters very caring and personable, that goes a long way with me.
5 star experience as always!
Excellent food & service but impossibly loud
I dined at Le Baratin for the first time and had an excellent meal. The beet and mango appetizer was very good, and the skate fish with mashed potatoes was absolutely delicious. The special strawberry bread pudding dessert was a lovely way to end the meal. The restaurant feels just a little dated and is a bit cramped, but the authentic French cooking and reasonable prices make up for that.
Great food and service. Pretty loud restaurant but it was very nice. Server went out of his way for us.
Best French restaurant in the Village. Thank God they came
Best French food in NYC
Great French food at a reasonable price.
I met someone who lives in New York City and he highly recommended this restaurant .
The food and wine were great, the service was on point, and they were flexible with accommodating a large group (which number changed a bit). It was a lovely experience, and I would definitely recommend to another.
Great French bistro food! My picky family of 5 all loved their dish. Great atmosphere and music...We will be back!!
fun and energetic with excellent food for the price
Great food, great time!
The food is lovely - very French, and interesting menu. It was our anniversary and they treated us beautifully.
Lovely small bistro but you MUST be outta there by, oh, 745 pm — when it turns into a hellishly noisy scrum. If not for that I’d give it 5 stars
Le Baratin is one of my favorite restaurants. Love everything about it. And we eat out a lot.
This was my second time at Le Baratin and enjoyed it as much as the first time. Our servers were attentive but not intrusive. The food was delicious and authentic. A real gem!!!
This review is for a group brunch. The dishes are lackluster and the service was slow. I can be patient with the service as it was only one waiter serving the entire restaurant but all the dishes ordered were subpar.
Great neighborhood old fashioned French Bistro. Small interesting menu that delivers.
Kitchen takes time to prepare and serve properly. If you like to sip your drinks slowly this is a great place to relax and smell the Beef Bourguignon.
Always fun great food perfect village bistro
My friend and I went here on a Thursday after work and it was absolutely fantastic! I had made reservations earlier that day and when we arrived 15 minutes early, we were still seated right away. We got seated in the back area, and the noise level was normal the whole time. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and my friend ordered the burger. It was AMAZING. We each got a glass of wine and it was fabulous too. One of the best French restaurants I've been to yet -- I will definitely be coming back!
Tiny, rustic space. One of my faves
Average French restaurant. Probably won’t return. Service was slow, Manhattan was poorly made, and food was average. Ambiance was a mix of a French restaurant with a sport bar.
Everything about this restaurant was average to average minus, starting with the waiter in his beret. I think the world of NYC French restaurants is beyond that. Fortunately the mains were of modestly higher quality than the cliched service and made the food part of the experience acceptable. The restaurant could also do with an update of its decor and menu. I went there because I could get in on short notice, and I know why.
Always wonderful and excellent service
