   It was our first time eating at this restaurant. we were pleasantly surprised at the cozy setting and it was warm and comfortable. Our server boo was so friendly and gracious. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful time. PS the food was fantastic. Daryl and Susan Fultz

   If you are looking for classic French food and great wine, this is your place. The classics are good while other dishes are just ok. The service is excellent and the small space is intimate, like you are dining with family and friends. We started with the salad that had beets and blue cheese - beautifully presented and tasty. The Shrimp Maisonette was very good, as long as you are a garlic lover. Classic baguette and butter was plentiful. The entrees were just ok. My daughter had the sole special, with excellent risotto and vegetables but the fish was a little strong. I had the classic steak frites - steak was cooked well but the fries were warm (at best) so not great. The mushroom sauce was too much for the steak but the harissa aioli helped the fries. We finished with the pot de creme which was very sweet, more milk chocolate than dark chocolate, which would have been my preference. The wine menu and creative cocktails are a highlight, so splurge for a wine you don't often get by the glass. I overheard that the original chef had returned, which may explain why most of the menu was different than what is online, and not as big. This is a classic bistro that I will return to, but will stick to drinks and appetizers and skip the pricey entrees that fell flat. If you can dine during warm weather, the patio is hidden gem.

   We had a wonderful evening at Le Bar a Boef and will definitely come back! Our server was a classic, professional server with great knowledge & fun personality. Can’t wait to go back.
