Le Bar A Boeuf
The music volume was loud and impacted our ability to speak.
Always have a wonderful time. Great food great service!
A wonderful dinning experience. We have eaten about 5 previous times at Le Bar and it just keeps getting better. For me, the test of any restaurant or food dish is: Would you eat there/order it again? We purchased several hundred $ of gift cards so that answerers one question. We ordered four different dishes, each of which we would order again: the charcuiteri board, the arugula salad, the fish soup (if I wasn't so full I would have ordered a second bowl for dessert) and we both had the wall-eye special ( perfectly cooked ). We hated to see the evening end. Service by multiple attentive staff was outstanding. very highly recommened.
Ordered a dish because of the beets and then it arrived without the beets. I asked and then they brought some out and apologized.
Excellent experience at Le Bar a Boeuf on Sunday night. All our food was great. The creme brulee was the best I have ever eaten.
Wish we were able to sit by the window. But over all it wasn’t a bad experience. The food took a long time to come.
Overall, I was not super impressed and can definitely get a better burger elsewhere in the city. The beef was nothing special, and I think overpriced since all the toppings (including the bun) is a la carte. The ambiance was nice, with lots of creative cow decor and a decent view of the city, but I don't think we will be going back.
Mushroom soup was superb. Lobster Mac & Cheese was good but not extraordinary.
The Sacred Cow is terrific and the pour was very generous.
Short list but good choices for wine.
Service was very good. We’ve had the same server numerous times.
View is great.
This restaurant is well-located for theater patrons and the staff does a nice job of getting dinner orders out in timely manner. Great view -excellent wine selection by the glass-and interesting menu with vegetarian choices.
Lovely restaurant, beautiful views, great service. Had Cincinnati Reserve Certificate which limited food choices. Look forward to returning and trying other options.
Great food wonderful drinks!
The view looks fabulous. The décor and ambiance were great, even small touches like the napkin ring marrow bone! Did I mention the burgers that are meant to be eaten with toppings and a fork/knife?! Excellent, and lots of yummy potato options! I had a special bread pudding for dessert, even though I was already full! Next time I want to try the Lobster Mac & Cheese.
I. Am a vegetarian and eat organic,
And typically French owned restaurants rarely offer vegetarian fare on their menu.
The mushroom, artichoke with egg a-top
Is incredible, generous serving, and with delicious whipped potatoes, a favorite meal! My non- vegetarian friend selected the asparagus risotto which we both gave high ratings!! Thanks to the powers that be for
Making it so vegetarian friendly- since I so enjoy the view! And great service!
I was so was looking forward to celebrate my birthday with friends here. It was my first time at this Jean Robert's location. Upon arrival, my spouse and friend went to the bar to order drinks while we waited for our table. I am not sure of the specifics, but I think the bartender was annoyed that one reached for a menu in the wrong area. She told them that they needed to go to the end of the bar to order a drink. They did not order and walked away. So we were walked to our table. I said that it was ok and so I requested another. The hostess seemed annoyed and said we would have to wait as not other tables were available. However, when we were seated at the second table it was worth the wait and fabulous! While ordering, the server said there were no draft beers (as listed on the menu), because the lines had been cut and unavailable for a year. In addition, she said they were out of 2 beers. So upon ordering another, she came back and said they were out of that beer as well. I also wanted specific burger combinations and our server was unable to do so. It would have made ordering much easier. Please know the burgers are (we decided on) were fantastic. But one was slightly overcooked and the bernaise sauce was cold (told it would separate if heated any more). There is so much potential and I hope it was just a bad Friday night.
I continue to visit Le Bar A Boeuf and every time its excellent. Its one of the few places with very high quality food and expert service. The crowd is very nice-quiet and mature which is so refreshing.
The food was excellent. Very well prepared .Main course took a little long to come out probably because of the weekend right after Valentine's. Overall great service and friendly staff.
Great spot for a Valentine's dinner with my lovely wife of 15 years - Thank You!!
Our food was perfect! We started with the snail appetizer (which was packed with these earthy flavors -- 👌); moved onto the seasonal salad featuring beets; and then I had the swordfish special, which was paired with this chimichurri sauce and artichoke, making the whole concoction melt in your mouth. My husband had a bison burger with goat cheese, (and some sauce), and he was equally satisfied! The cocktails were originally and fresh. Service was attentive. We highly recommend for a great date night!
Tasty food, excellent service, very nice ambience. What more can one ask for.
Nearby to downtown. Good parking. Takes reservations. It's a no brainer. Good food. A little too noisy.
Good value for the money. The calf liver was excellent. My wife’s burger was delicious. Nice spot to eat before you go to the Playhouse
Service was exceedingly slow. Salad course crane in 2 shifts. Then we waited over an hour for our entree. All tables around us were also having the same experience. They comped is with dessert, but I would rather have had dinner in a timely manner.
Service was friendly but slow and disorganized. We had to ask for every water refill we needed and were never asked if we wanted any drinks other than the one delivered at the start. Our food was good (not great) but arrived incorrectly twice for two of us and once for another person in our party. A few people were put off by everything being a la carte and/or an upgrade....including a bun or cheese for the burger entree. I could see the terrace being a fun place to hang out for drinks in the summer but we’d probably grab dinner elsewhere.
Convenient after-play dining. Friendly service, great food.
Normally the service here is adequate but when busy there can be real confusion about how long you will wait for your dinner. We decided to order some soup and salad while we waited after our server explained that the wait would be longer due to being busy. Then as soon as we received our soup we were informed that our entire was up. We never would have ordered the soup knowing that and only did so because of what the server had told us. It created a somewhat confusing experience/
Really nice...food excellent.......parking always a hassel!
My guest and I had a car problem in the garage. The staff and Jean- Robert himself could not have been nicer. Instead of becoming upset that we were blocking the driveway ( we were!), he offered us all a drink and a dessert!
AND the food was yummy!
The only negative is that the windows are not well insulated and a window seat, while lovely, is pretty chilly !
Service was VERY slow. Food was just okay. Won’t hurry to go back. It does have a nice view.
We love this place. It lacks in the decor but makes way up for it in food quality, taste and presentation. It’s a little slow in coming but the wine list and cocktail choices make up for that minor shortcoming. This is a keeper!
New Year’s Eve tends to be a crapshoot when it comes to a good dining experience.
La Bar A Boeuf was a wonderful surprise and well worth the gamble. An intimate, quiet setting with superb special small menu for the holiday. My halibut was delicious, my husband’s osso bucco was incredible, but the roasted beet salad will have us making a return trip. The service was attentive and prompt. All in all, a memorable night.
We went for an early dinner on New Year’s Eve. We had never heard of it but found it on Open Table. Appetizers and dessert were good but not really memorable. We both ordered the Filet and both thought they were excellent. I would go back and try it again when it’s not a set menu.
Beautiful room, delicious food, excellent service!
Have not been disappointed with meals at Le Bar A Boeuf. Two in our party were here for the first time. Our table of 4 shared the Steak tartare which was enjoyed by all. Meals: trout amandine with lemon flavor and toasted almonds on top added to the flavor of this meal, a filet prepared rare to perfection, nice preparation on the Rock Fish special and a beef meal from the Boeuf menu section with boursin and onion compote which was prepared as expected. All skipped the desserts as there was no room to spare for additional food. A great restaurant.
Our pre-theater dinner for a family of 6 was fun, delicious, perfectly timed and well suited for a variety of ages and preferences. We each had custom burgers with soups and salads of our choice, plus a lobster béchamel mac n cheese for the table (to DIE for). Truffle butter on bison was a highlight! All four wines we ordered were smooth and unctuous and well paired with the beef. And the jazz trio coupled with the sunset view of the river made it hard to leave for our show!
The food was very tasty, but particularly the French Onion soup was superb! The bread pudding was also quite good.
Waiter was great and offered recommendations. The duck was great as well as the mahi mahi special.
Amazing! Food was incredible and staff was perfect!
Excellent food. Service was pleasant but we felt quite rushed.
