This is - without a doubt- our favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. It’s a hidden gem, tucked away in E. Walnut Hills. As we all know, Jean Robert is a master in the kitchen and everything he turns out is delicious,,unique and perfectly balanced. Most often I order the special, so we haven’t even tried everything on the menu. The escargot are delicate and delicious and the crab cakes are so full of crab I’m not sure how they stay together. The service is impeccable, attentive and friendly without being overly so. Most are long term staff members who have deep respect for Chef and the customers. Recommendations are always spot on from the wait staff.
Great food, amazing service, creative menu, looking forward to going back!
We could not have asked for a better evening, including amazing food prepared by the master chef Jean Robert. It was special.
Love the new menu and personal!! I am back at The Table!! what a great surprise it is no longer a hamburger place!! Great service, fantastic hostess, fabulous menu and great view.
Our food was delicious! My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday. We started with a fried green tomato salad, and the bread was amazing. I had the halibut special, and my husband had filet mignon. We split a creme brulee for desert. Our waitress was very busy but also very attentive. We would definitely go back. You can't go wrong with Jean Robert restaurant.
I love this place it’s wonderful but they are definitely having help issues. Mary Lou and everyone else works hard but they are not enough of them.
It is hard to beat the food from a chef Jean-Robert restaurant. Our experience was excellent and Le Bar A boeuf is a go-to restaurant for a special evening.
Always enjoy eating there.Nice ambience ,tasty food, outstanding service. Patio porch is among the best in Cincinnati.More need to know about this gem of an eatery.
We have dined at this restaurant in the past and enjoyed our experience last evening. The restaurant has made some changes since our last visit, including a lovely patio for dining outside with a great view of the City. The food is always well prepared, but the Schrimp Maisonette is to die for. Tables Restaurant was my favorite place to dine in Cincinnati and I miss it. However, Le Bar A Boeuf has many similarities and I, for one, love it.
The most delicious food and my favorite restaurant by far.
Wait staff was excellent . Everyone was very professional and helpful.
My family used to love coming to la bar a boeuf, but after last night we will never come back. We used to enjoy the make your own burger option and the sharable sides such as their veggies. They have done away with all of this and now only have sub-par entrees. The cocktail selection was also poor and nothing special. Between the absurd noise level from the table behind us and the hushed speaking tone and quick pace of her speaking, we could hardly hear. The price of the meal was not worth the selection of food and drinks and the poor atmosphere. This was a huge let down for a dinner that was supposed to celebrate my sister visiting home for the first time all year. Extremely disappointing restaurant.
Have never been disappointed. Must order the Shrimp, Maisonette Style appetizer. The lamb chops were very nicely prepared. The grouper special was outstanding as well. The salad special: peaches, roasted cauliflower with arugula and dressing was the perfect salad for a summer evening. And yes we had dessert.. always good.
This was our first visit to the restaurant and certainly will not be our last. The food was excellent and presented very well. The service was equally as good. Very attentive, but not rushed. We have been fans of Jean Robert for years. Always a pleasure to dine with him.
We sat on the terrace, the view, weather, food and service sublime. We love this great restaurant.
Everything was delicious: lobster Mac and cheese, salads, steak frites, bacon wrapped salmon, creme brûlée, dark chocolate pot de creme. Perfect service. We will be back soon!
This is a quaint place tucked into the lobby of a condo building. The food was fresh and good. Our server did not explain what items were on the charcuterie board and the menu was not the same as the one posted on the restaurant website but everything was prepared excellently.
As always it was a perfect dinner with wonderful specials and selections. Thank you for another great meal.
The puff pastry accompanying the foie gras was a delicate, flaky perfection. The fresh from the oven French bread was a light, warm crunchy treat. Grilled duck was delicious. The creme brûlée was a wonderful finish.
Jean Robert himself, when he stopped by our table, said it was a challenging night. For us, as his diners, it was a challenge to get a reservation for 8 with the staffing shortages. We were glad to be accommodated & we were glad to be able to enjoy a truly leisurely dining experience. Our group had the specialty cocktails (more than one of each -- that good.)
Escargot, beet & goat cheese salad, the Maisonette shrimp, for beginners. Entrees included the rack of lamb, halibut special, salmon, chicken, & utterly delectable duck. Three of us had desserts of creme brulee. It is nice to have a quiet meal with good service that was understandably doing the best they can in today's circumstances.
This was our first visit in several years and it was wonderful. The French 75 was a tasty, light cocktail and perfect for a celebration. Loved the beet and goat cheese salad. Nice tender red and yellow beets and super creamy goat cheese with fresh greens. The duck and the halibut special were scrumptious. No room fir dessert.😫
Great place to grab a bite.
I always enjoy LeBar. It's a nice little gem nestled in Walnut Hills near the park. Last night the service was not as good as in the past. Two large groups sucked the air out of the place, and that's okay. It took way too long to get a simple hamburger. However, I'm not complaining. I'm just glad to see the place busy again.
Lovely staff, enjoyed being w Megan again
Fun evening celebrating Bastille Day
Dinner, as always, excellent
Love the new menu
The food was so creative, it was amazing.
Great food and service
Great find, especially for pre-theatre experience.
We had a wonderful meal and very much enjoined speaking with Jean Robert, and
as always so good to chat with Marilou.
Great cocktails and food. Good place for an early dinner before going to a show at Playhouse in the Park
Nice to back dining again at Le Bar. Where else can one get great French Comfort food at a very reasonable price? Our duck and Arctic char were both delicious and would buy again. The wine list is short but well selected and reasonably priced. Service was excellent and professional. Ambiance is very nice with white tablecloths. The restaurant was a bit cold by my standards, but my dining partner was fine. Highly recommended.
In the beginning, the appetizers and cocktails were good. Wine recommendation from wait staff was not on mark but that wasn’t a problem. We were one of the first customers with a 6:15 reservation but didn’t get our dinner served until 2:00 hrs later. I really believe they forgot about us and/ or we weren’t as important as others. Not at all as special as it was at Jean-Robert’s Table restaurant he had in downtown Cincinnati. The lamb was a very small portion for the price of the entree. The view was lovely from what we could see around other tables. Hopefully they will open up the patio dining in the near future. It was closed last night. Not sure that I would want to return.
Everything was perfect from the moment we entered.
The food is outstanding; it's obvious Jean Robert is in the kitchen. Our group had the foie gras special, tartare, a mac n cheese, steak, burger, and fish, and everything was exquisite. The chocolate pot de creme for dessert was exactly like the ones I loved when we lived in France, and I wish I could eat one every day. Our server, on the other hand, was really terrible. We were seated for 40 minutes before we got our drinks (besides water, that came right away). He told us when he brought them that he'd "be right back to take orders" and he then proceeded to go to all the other tables around us, dropping off and picking up checks, dropping off food, and even going behind the bar to take a break and get a drink before finally coming back. After that, things moved a bit better, but he still made mistakes with the cutlery, had someone else's dish come to our table, and a few more. All the other servers seemed fine, so next time we go back, we'll just be sure to not be seated in his section!
We enjoyed two of their nightly specials: halibut and filet mignon. Both were excellent. Although pricier than the standard menu items, they were definitely worth it. Jean Robert himself was in the kitchen, and his hand was evident in those entrees.
Best restaurant in Cincinnati!
Very disappointing. This is our 4th Jean Robert restaurant and had hopes. We were not greeted or acknowledged for 10 minutes when we arrived at our reserved time. Our drink order were wrong including missing a drink. The appetizer plates were dirty. The bottom of one of the plate had large pieces of dried food on it that was transferred to the one under it. No apologies over that just taken without a word. The salmon was extremely dry. Even with the sauce it was dry. The remainder of the food was just OK. Not good for the price. Not sure if we were supposed to receive bread but most of the other table did and it was not offered. Not sure if there was coffee or any other offer it after the entree because nothing was offered. We have enjoyed L. Table Maisonette in the past. This did not meet our expectations of the quality of service or food we experienced. Would not recommend
