LB Steak - Santana Row Ratings and Reviews
We waited awhile between being seated by maitre'd and having the waiter ask for our order or even introduce herself. It was at least 15 minutes with no water at all. We were seated at a corner and the staff just forgot us and we had to flag someone ti get our order. There were other waiters that would just pass us by and outlier waitress did not even know she has our table. The steak- ribeye my husband had was good and flavorful. My filet mignon was good but nothing extra special in terms of flavor. Slightly bland. The best food we ordered was the pork belly appetizer which was very flavorful.
We were 10 people for Sunday brunch celebrating a birthday, and they gave us a table in the back that was just perfect. I chose LB Steak because some of our party wanted steak and others wanted breakfast, and we really didn't want a buffet, so this worked out great. Kim was our server and was very pleasant and professional. Everyone said the food was good. One minor thing was on the steak cobb salad, the way the meat is cut into strips it is left with a strip of fat, which they could probably discard instead of mixing in with the meat. The only major downer, which was very frustrating, was that parking was horrific, taking me almost fifteen minutes to find a spot. But that's Santana Row's fault, not LB of course. Overall very enjoyable.
We had high expectations for this restaurant because we had popped in before and could never get in without a reservation. The ratings on Open Table are high, which is also a determining factor for us. We were surprised that the food was just "ok." The BLT salad was creative as was the addition of roasted garlic and a rosemary sprig on our steak plates. But, for what is touted as prime meat, the quality was just not there. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the bone-in filet mignon. Also, the sugar on the creme brullee was burned... Service was terrific though.
Me and my date both had the 25 day aged Ribeye steaks along with sharing the mushrooms, mac and cheese, and creamed spinach. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were of a good size. The mac and cheese was good but didn't go with the steak, and the creamed spinach was great. The appetizer came in less than 5 minutes after ordering, yet was hot and not greasy at all with great taste. The creme brulee had a great carmelization on top and came with some amazing pistachio cookies. The pumpkin bread pudding was very light, and had just enough sweetness without going overboard. Better than anywhere in Carmel/Pebble Beach. Service was impeccable. Well worth the price.
We absolutely loved LB Steak. From start to finish, the service was GREAT! Our server Jimmy, was exceptional. Very detailed and knowledgeable. I got the 16 oz New York Steak, and it was cooked to perfection, just how I wanted it. We will definitely be going back on our next trip to Santana Row.
Excellent steakhouse. Well within the price range of a normal upscale steakhouse. I definitely recommend for a group party or a date. Be aware that larger parties (we had 16-20 people for my birthday during a precious visit) the restaurant may force you to order from a set menu.
The steaks, as expected, are superb. I wish they had a bit more variety in the side dishes, however, and offered more 'green' choices like vegetables. A bit heavy on the potatoes and hard to make healthy choices, but they were all delicious. Our waiter was out of this world! Michael was so well informed, made an excellent wine selection for us (a pinot noir I was competely unfamiliar with), provided superb service and in fact made the whole evening! It was my daughter's 19th birthday so they comped her dessert and put candles on it - very sweet! And it was even gluten free which was a requirement for her. I'd definitely go back. And I'd make sure Michael is our server again!
I would like to give the 'Overall' and 'Service' a little higher rating because our server was 'very good', however, the bus boys came and cleared our food away before we had finished eating...left our side of Mac and Cheese, but we had no silverware or plates to eat it with. When our server came to see if we needed anything, we told him how disappointed we were that the bus boys took our food before we had finished and he stated that they are a little energetic and this happens occasionally! Just feel that if the server says this has happened in the past, perhaps they need to communicate this to the bus boys.
Soup was served without a spoon. We had to ask 2 or 3 times for a missing plate and bread. I expected better service at this upscale restaurant.
It didn't get better from there, we ordered 2 steaks, one medium well and the other medium rare, and a side dish. The medium well steak came out well done and the medium rare steak was cooked to rare. Had to recook the steaks. The waiter did not even suggests to reheat the side dish so by the time the 2nd set of steak arrived, the side dish was already cold.
Dining room is well set up, very attentive/friendly wait staff. The food was very good. I would recommend the 12 oz New York Strip. The A la cart style of the side dishes is very nice, The Mashed Potatoes were excellent. My girlfriend had the Salmon, it smelled good she said it tasted great. The pickled vegetable side that came with the Salmon were excellent. Overall a good experience. Be prepaired to spend at least $100.00 for two people for a date night.
Way too expensive for what they serve. I had the Rib Eye and my wife had the New York steak. Both very good. Everything else was mediocre. The bread came late, was cold, and could have come packaged from the grocery store. The baked potato was underdone in the center. The mushrooms were dry with little taste. They were out of the red wine I wanted and suggested a replacement (at a higher cost). The recommended wine was not very good and tasted as if the bottle had been open for several days. The glass of wine was brought to the table (a no-no ) and we did not see the label. The wine glass was a generic one with a narrow opening of the type one uses for orange juice; not suitable for red wine. Cost for two for lunch: $114 without the tip.
The restaurant has a great vibe. Our wait staff was very professional and attentive to our service needs. Steaks were terrific as was the ahi appetizer. The side dishes and desserts were very average and the Halibut dinner was not good. Stick with what they do best and you'll be fine. Overall the price seems a little high for the product. This would be a good option however to take a business client if you don't mind the price!
Expected a nice night out for my anniversary and was ultimately disappointed with the quality of the service I received. We were a party of two (obviously) and the server clearly valued his large parties over ours, so rarely stopped by to check on us and took forever to bring the check, etc. Overall, I was really unhappy with my experience here and would never recommend this to a friend.
Great spot for many situations - families, dates, celebrations, or just a spot to have a quiet dinner after shopping. Service was fantastic. Food was very well prepared. The dining room is low lit and lovely. The bar is inviting so arrive early and tie one on before dinner.
The food was outstanding. Our waitress did have us waiting quite a bit on taking our order, taking our dessert order, and then bringing us our bill. For it not being too busy I would have expected a more attentive server. But the taste of the food makes up for it. The pork belly wrapped in bacon was an outstanding appetizer and the steaks were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the 1/2 tail of lobster and the mac and cheese truffle. When in the mood for a good steak, we would come back here again.
Food was decent. French onion soup and olive bread fantastic, good fries, lobster and chicken sandwich good, biscuits and gravy ended up being gluey and kind of tasteless. House-made sausages a little grainy for my taste. Our server disappeared after entrees arrived, however we were taken care of by a more than capable busboy/bread server.
LB Steak, was a very enjoyable experience.
The food was great, but a little pricey.
The service was slow at first, but improved as the evening went on.
Was there for a birthday and they comped a glass of wine and desert.
I would recommend this place as a great upscale restaurant.
Good solid fare as far as a steak house. The salads were generous and the venison was a hit as well as the sides. We brought our own wines but their wine list is fairly extensive. It was fairly quiet for a weeknight but that made it easier for our group to enjoy the conversation. We'd go again
new year's eve, nice to get all dressed up and have a place to go, the LB Steak house is warm and inviting, everyone is polite and doing their best to make your evening outstanding. the food is enjoyble and the steaks are perfect. we will be making LB's one of our regular eating stops.
Much more money then I would normally pay ($66 for my giant steak and that's a la carte), but it was well worth it. If it wasn't for a gift card I got, I would never have found this place.
The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful...
For a special occasion this is definitely where I would head to. Steak was as tender as you can find.
LB Steak consistently delivers what I want in a dining experience. The servers show they care about your needs and are proactive rather than reactive. The food is superb. We go to LB Steak because we know we will get a good dining experience for the money we are paying. It is a regular "date night" place for my wife and I.
The atmosphere is good for a group of friends or family or couples. But the foods were so-so. My friend and I went there for a Christmas Eve dinner. We both order the fillet mignon, which was served on a skillet, but the meat was very cold, kind of hard, and no taste.
The noise level was way above average. A christmas party or something close by with lost of yelling and laughing.
Steak was way over cooked, sides were good and less that 1/4 of an inch thick.
I put in the reservation that it was my sons birthday and they never acknowledged it.
$183 plu tip was not worth it with no alcohol.
