LB Steak - Santana Row Ratings and Reviews
Four out of four steaks that were ordered medium or medium rare came out bloody and cold. When asked
To have one cooked a little more, the manager came out with a major attitude and asked my husband if he wanted the outside of the steak a little darker? She tried to tell us the steaks were medium and medium rare and not cold. She actually argued with us and then spun around and marched off. Took over 30 minutes to get the second round of my husband's steak which was now well done. We are all done with this restaurant. Food and management are horrid! Go to The Grill on the Alley or Morton's and save the aggravation and $42 for a inedible steak.
Our waitress is super friendly and gentle with my 13 year old daughter after a long day of computer science camp. She even had the bar specially make a drink without alcohol but quite fancy for me. It's been a very cozy and comfortable dining experience for a mom with a teen daughter.
My 12oz dry aged ribeye was flavorful but not as thick as I like. I asked for medium rare but came out more like a medium. It's harder to control the temperature when the steak is too thin. I guess I expected a little more for a $52 steak. Service was good though.
Service was excellent. My steak was supposed to cooked medium rare but came out more medium to medium well the first time. Our server took it back right away and the second steak was cooked as I wanted. It was a Monday night, so my guess is that the A Team wasn't in the kitchen that night. Overall dining experience was very good.
Great service for sure. BUT, Fish was way over cooked and we were pressed for time so could not address. M/R steak was a bit rare. Too bloody. Bread when hot was good, but once cooled , hard as a rock. mushrooms were boring. Overall I was disappointed in LB Steak.
Please forward to restaurant:
I was disappointed when I arrived at 4pm to find that the item I came for ( a burger called Royale with bacon and an egg ) could only be ordered as a lunch menu item. I would recommend that it be put on Every menu lunch or dinner as it is vastly superior to the only burger that can be ordered for dinner. The dinner burger (loftily called Wagyu) was overpriced and had a bad aftertaste with unchewable mushrooms.
Food here has gone downhill. We used to love it, but have been less impressed on our last couple of visits. I think this was our last time going there. I always get the ribeye, and the quality was very poor. It was thin, had quite a bit more fat than expected and a LOT of gristle. I had to keep spitting out bites that were inedible. Not pleasant to have to do, especially at a nice restaurant. They were also having problems in the kitchen with cooking. Another steak came out very underdone. It was sent back and returned very overdone. The replacement was underdone and over-seasoned. We gave up at that point. It's a steakhouse. The cook should be on point every time, but by 3rd strike there's a real problem.
Sides and appetizer were fine. We love the pork belly.
Service was good.
The restaurant itself was fabulous! This was our first time there, celebrating my friend's birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the bar, chatting with the young female bartender . Will definitely return again! The only negative issue I want to address is the noise level from cars and motorcycles. There were a few cars, screeching down the street and motorcycles doing the same, burning tires in the street and speeding. This was very annoying and we hope that the management of the complex will address this issue with the Police and security!
We had a great time. The bartender had smoking whiskey with redemption whiskey. The double barrel makers manhattan was so good. Waiving the corkage fee was very classy on the champagne for the special occasion. The tomahawk rib eye with a side of Kumamoto oysters was unforgettable.
First impressions count, and the hostess was a snooty little you-know-what. For no apparent reason. That unfortunately set the tone for the entire meal. While the food was good and the servers were all pretty nice, that initial experience with the hostess kind of ruined it for me.
Really had a good time here, I love their steaks and have to say it's probably one of the tastiest steaks I've ever had. The only thing I can caution against is ordering the lobster bisque. The soup was sour and just overall not good. It was $18/bowl and I didn't even finish it. Waste of money and caloric intake. But I would highly recommend the steaks and their cocktails. Really delicious and well worth the price.
The service was horrible. For what is supposed to be a nice restaurant they the staff fumbled through the whole evening
. Will defiantly not return . Outback has better service and food ! Beware they will charge you if you want to cancel your reservation with no proper notification!
I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed by the food. The first thing is that I had looked at all the menus the night before Father's Day and several of the items I wanted to order were not there the next day. I didn't have a lot of options and ended up with a seafood omelette. It was pretty bland. A casual diner could have made same thing and wasn't worth the price tag of $28 that comes with luxury dining.
The dessert was a cheesecake but we didn't know it would be "deconstructed" - it didn't mention it on the menu.
The drinks were pretty good - red wine & mimosa. The only thing is the wine I had wanted that I had seen on menu wasn't there the next day.
The service was great though! The appetizer Lobster Bisque was awesome!
I might come back if I'm there and see the menu in person.
The restaurant had a special Father's Day menu that was different from the menu online (less, more exotic items). It was about $10 more expensive per plate than the online menu. We sat outside, and at least 3 expensive cars screeched away, which was loud and obnoxious. They didn't have many breakfast options (5 dishes only) and it wasn't vegetarian friendly (I should have expected as much from a steak restaurant). The waiter made adjustments to the food items and charged us less for the vegetarian versions, which was nice.
When you pay almost $50 for a smallish filet AT A STEAKHOUSE, you expect the steak to be superb. You don't expect to have to send your filet back because the "medium-rare, closer to rare" steak you ordered came well done. The second one came quite grissely. With that being said, the service IS superb and they go above and beyond to try to accommodate special requests and make up for the mistakes. The location and ambiance is lovely but this is the second time I have paid over $200 for a meal for 2 people and it was only just okay food. I hate it when I pay that much for steak that I know I could have cooked better.
We were dining with an elderly friend with very poor hearing and eyesight. She could not read the menu, and she could not understand the server over the background noise.
The food was excellent, but I think I was served the wrong drink. My drink tasted a bit "off" but I thought it might be my taste buds. When I got the bill, it said I had been served "Jack Daniels".
I had ordered "Jameson" Irish Whisky. No wonder the taste was off.
The service was very slow. I think the kitchen lost our order because people who arrived after we ordered got their meals before we did.
3rd time here. Have come to the conclusion there really is not a good table to sit at. With reservations have been sat right in the path from kitchen to dining room, even when requested not to. Really hard to have a good time with management gathering right above your table talking . Food and service always excellent. Travis- excellent waiter
