LB Steak - Santana Row Ratings and Reviews
I went with my wife for our 27th anniversary dinner, and it was a great choice. Friendly and professional staff, the food was awesome, a bit pricy but worth it, loved the appetizers, the service was fast. We also really liked the ambience and noise level was acceptable, location is superior I highly recommend it, go 15 minutes early parking is not simple.
This is a great place for a good steak dinner. There is a nice variety to the selection of cuts and quality. Side dishes are good; not spectacular, Service is great. I always enjoy dining here. It is certainly not an inexpensive menu so one needs to be prepared for about $100/person excluding wine or spirits if you order the better cuts of meat. On the worst occasion the meat was satisfactory and the best occasions; wonderful.
We must have caught them on an off night, twice baked potato was really dry...possibly overcooked, steak was a bit on the dry side and mostly tasteless ( filet cooked med-rare)
Service was great as usual, knowledgeable waitress who had great wine recommendations. The food was just a huge miss for me this time. For 5 people the bill was just under $400 ( with tip) seemed over priced for the value. I think I still recommend just because of the customer service, and there are tons of places to go in the area pre and post dinner.
-DO make reservations
-DONT get the filet.
If you are looking for a steak restaurant that does not go too far classic, this would be your choice. If you have a table with 4 people, 48oz Tomahawk Chop at $120 is great choice. First of all, its presentation is great and even overwhelming. Also, its price ends up to be reasonable for 4 people steak dinner . Selection of wine is not very great but adequately well done for business dinner.
I have never been so disappointed in a dining experience as I was at LB steakhouse. I was shocked at the lack of attention from the staff, and the lack of flavor in the food. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to even come to the table, another 15 to receive drinks without ice, another 30 to receive unseasoned food, and by the time we received salt and pepper (which we had to ask for several times because they kept forgetting) our food was completely cold. Our meal was $160, which we would have been happy to spend on quality service and food, and we didn’t get either one. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
A great steakhouse! Food was amazing, with a great wine list and ambiance. The service was stellar. Our server was Kelsey and she recommended perfect choices for our taste and occasion. She made the birthday celebration extra special. Definitely will be back!
We capped a family get-together at Santana Row with a delicious brunch / lunch made even better by Matthew’s prompt, attentive, thoughtful service that was friendly without being overbearing. Spot on recommendations of sauces, sides, and entrees that customized each of our meals - much appreciated!
This was not our first positive experience here with Matthew and it won’t be our last - highly recommend LB for a premium, high quality dining experience that delivers in every way - cheers!
Very hip and cool vibe with the cow hide apolstery, high ceilings, ambient lighting, illuminated "wall of expensive wine," ominous, opaque, automatic sliding door to the kitchen, etc.
The service is on point with timing and the phalanx of servers bringing bread and water--as well as changing silverware and glasses and clearing plates for the next course.
The food is quite good--I wouldn't say "as good" as Alexander's per se, but the fact that they are about $100 less expensive for the very high quality meal we received, I'd definitely come back.
Very convenient, open, lively, and warm. Fun place to be. Alexander's new location in Cupertino is very austere, serious, and cold, so even though the food has a bit more of a premium taste, look, and feel to it, I'd much rather hit LB Steakhouse for a lively night out imbibing in a giant Tomahawk chop with all the sides.
My steak was thin and medium not medium rare. The Caesar salad and the dessert were excellent. The potato had hard surfaces inside. The prawns were delicious. The noise from the people watching the football game took away from the romantic evening. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and the service was excellent.
Went there for my anniversary but the waiter did nothing special. I had noted in the reservations that it was for my anniversary but do not know if that information got relayed to the waiter. My wife's steak was cooked medium when she asked for medium well. My steak was barely cooked to rare even though I asked for medium. The only thing that saved the meal was the quality of meat. The place is hit and miss as far food and service. I had a great waiter but feel that Alexander Steak House in Cupertino is better option.
I chose this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday. We had a short wait even with a reservation. We then waited a while for someone to approach the table. This didn’t bother us too much because the restaurant was very busy. Started with sparkling water. Which arrived with extremely old limes, almost half brown. We couldn’t use them. We were told we would get fresh bread for table. Never came. For the meal the Kumamoto oysters were good. We used our bread plates for share plates. Which were never cleared until another server saw we were trying to arrange the table. Disappointed in the mignonette; tasted like straight red wine vinegar. $44 for a dozen I expected better accompaniments. Next my boyfriend got the wedge and substituted for balsamic. He absolutely loved it. I on the other hand ordered the beet salad. It looked like scraps compared to the wedge. Still very good. For our entrees we both got 4oz A5. Absolutely the best part of the meal. Meat was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Mac and cheese which was barely lukewarm and the truffle fries; awesome! We ate everything regardless bc our server never came back to check on us. Even ordered another bottle of sparkling water before our meal and we received it towards the end when a floor manager stepped in to help. Which was greatly appreciated but over due. Ended the night with a complimentary chocolate cake for my boyfriends birthday which was very nice and delicious. All in all for a $500 bill ehhhh not what I expected. The server in me still tipped accordingly but it wasn’t earned. I would also be careful when your computer station is in open view. Us guests can see and hear everything. I know I may have looked young but I have been in fine dining for 15 years. I would hope the lack of service wasn’t bc the server thought they weren’t going to be tipped properly. The look of surprise as the server counted my cash and showing fellow servers was honestly humorous.
I came here to celebrate my birthday and I was very disappointed. I expected some top of the line meat, but instead I got something I can get at an average BBQ. When I asked for my sirloin, they told me the side come separately. You would think for the price I am paying, I would get at least one side. I asked, if the portion of meat is going to be enough and the waitress said "yeah its big!". I expected more from this type of "high end restaurant. I am not coming back
We decided on this restaurant after a recommendation from a family member.
We shared the sides of Lobster mac n cheese and loaded baked potato. Both were good.
Each of us ordered a 6oz Filet. We also ordered a few scallops.
Scallops were very good. Steak, however, was very bland. Absolutely no flavor.
I like a steak that is seasoned with only salt and pepper. I don’t think a good steak should need a lot of seasoning or sauce. This steak was really a disappointment.
We also tried the desserts. There isn’t much to choose from. We tried the strawberry cheesecake, the chocolate tart and the monkey bread pudding. All were good, not fantastic.
I really wanted to like this place but the service was rather slow and although some of the food was good to very good, the entree was disappointing enough to deter me from returning. I live about 35 miles from the restaurant so it’s not worth it for me to try again
I always enjoy my meal at LB Steak but I'm never "blown away" by the meal. We were there for my wife's birthday and with another couple. Service was fine. Steaks were fine. Sides were fine...although I was surprised by the lack of veggies as side dishes...nothing green on the menu. My friend I split the 48 oz. Tomahawk Rib-eye...which is an impressive steak. We ordered it Medium Rare but it was pretty much Rare. Which I didn't mind but my buddy didn't like it that under done. A bit disappointing when you spend $120 for a steak. Overall a fine meal and we'll go back at some point but I always want LB Steak to "wow me" and they never do.
My husband and I made reservations and we arrived 10 minutes before reservation. The dining room was next to empty and they had a sit at the bar while they ready the table. Thought that was a bit strange. The shrimp appetizer was wonderful, our waiter was very attentive, we ordered steak and it was a little over cooked, however it was tender.
The service was amazing. That's what set the day apart for us. Knowing it was my wife's bday, they brought out special cake for her.
We tried it lobster roll- that was good.
Lobster Mac and Cheese-really good
Kids hotdog- kid thought it was okay, parts were burnt
Molten cake- wow
Nice open air location on Santana Row. Steaks cooked perfectly (med/rare). Wife had Scallops - very nice and cooked to perfection. Overstuffed potato enough for 2 - maybe 3. Service was quite good. A bit on the pricey side - but, otherwise a good meal at a great location.
First time here and glad we finally made it. It was a warm September evening so we opted to sit outside. It was a great experience... service was excellent and our waiter made a few recommendations for wine based on our tastes. Had the lobster bisque and wedge salad to start. Both were great. We weren’t too adventurous with the steaks, we both had prime NY strips. They were cooked perfectly! I enjoyed the red wine sauce to go with it. Couldn’t pass up the creme brûlée for desert. It was a great evening celebrating a special occaision.
We tried LB Steak for the first time for a boys night out. Our entree was a tomahawk for 2 perfectly cooked rear or medium rear. Service was top notch. Overall, compared to other high end steakhouse restaurants in the area, including very decent red wine and dessert, the check was rather reasonable.
We'll definitely repeat!
