Lazzara's Pizza Cafe
Bar stool fans and wanted to try a 9.3 rated pizza. Too bad it was tasted more like a 7.3. Pre-theater on a wed night. 4 tables occupied, most were eating or waiting for server to bring them there check. We sat down little after 6 for 6 pm res. We looked at menu at ordered a regular cheese pizza and 1 ice tea and 1 water at 6.25 pm. Other guests started to arrive and placed orders after us. After 20 mins and the other people’s food was coming out, we stopped our waiter and asked how much longer? He gave us a very un hospitable look as though we just ordered 5 mins ago. Then we waited until 6:57 (30+ mins after ordering) for our 1 pizza to come out. Meanwhile other tables got there pizzas and entrees second later. The pizza looked good and was burning hot, however, the pizza has very little flavor. We kept on adding spices and seasoning to get it to taste better.
What a disappointment and the place is a hole in the wall and doesn’t even have a rating from the board of health yet. Will not be going back.
Not impressed with the price and size of the pizza. We asked for the heat to be turned up but wee told it was up. Took relatives from out of town and were embarrassed
Highly recommended for their excellent pizza.
Pre theater dinner - perfect spot.
The service was excellent and quick.
Delicious pizza and tasty salads.
The best tiramisu
Fantastic service and pizza. Always amazing.
Amazing food at a great price and my new go to spot in the city.
Exactly what I expected. No frills, friendly and excellent pizza.
Best pizza EVER!
Great atmosphere. Excellent service and food. Always a great experience at this hidden gem!
Very small place. Pizza is ok.
Small place so get there early or make a reservation. Wonder out of the way place. Great service. Food was amazing. Reminded us of Little Italy in Boston. A Must try
Amazing pizza, what a great place!!! Lasagna pizza, yummy!
The food was very good, had the gnocci bolognese and it was perfect! The service was fast, a bit too fast b/c i had about 4 minutes to eat my salad before the entree came out. But if you have theatre tickets and not much time the fast service works. They didn't rush us to leave though so if you wanted to hang around there was no real pressure. The atmosphere was just ok, needs a bit of an upgrade to the tables and overall look but for an affordable, tasty, quick meal it is perfect.
Poor service. We waited for 15 minutes and no one brought us menus or waters so we left.
Great Caesar dressing on the salad and incredible pizza
I’ve eaten at Lazzara’s on a few previous occasions and it is a great place for a casual dinner in the garment district. Great food at great prices.
The pizza was great I was surprised when I first ate it. I really enjoyed the food. Thanks for a great time.
Excellent restaurant! Group of 8 went, all 8 stated that it was best thin crust pizza ever had. Recommended to another family and they went a different day, same great review!! 12/10!!
Mediocre. Everything’s pretty over cooked and pizza is served on plastic trays. Very bland.
Amazing pizza! Would go back here in a heart beat! Great service wonderful pizza and great service.
Really great pizza and pasta. One of my favorites in the city. Not super fancy but well worth a visit
Cute, affordable, excellent service! Will be back during our next visit to NYC!
Great little find, no so far off the beaten path. Amazing pizza!
Pizza was very tasty but table crowded in corner and tight. Noise level very high due to big grump.
Ok food, but not a top choice for midtown. A few tourists who had been lulled to this quiet 1st floor restaurant. Poor wine, food not great, service disinterested. Also overpriced. 100s of better choices nearby.
The food was fantastic. The service was meh. Understaffed on a Monday night when clearly they had reservations for 3 large parties. But again, the food was fantastic!
I've only been there twice, but I love the food and the old timey feel of the place.
Nice small restaurant with quality food at a fair price.
Overall a decent unique pizza (square pie with a different style of crust). Not anywhere near the top on NYCs finest however. Way too much of an overpowering sweet sauce.
We had visited there several times in the past years. We were a little disappointed in the food quality this visit. But overall still a great place!
Amazing pizza!
We chose Lazzara's as it was well rated and close to our hotel. My son had half a cheese pizza which amounted to three square slices - but he seemed to enjoy. My other son had a calzone with cheese and ham. We asked for a side of tomato sauce and were charged for it. My gnocchi with meat sauce was good and I had a salad to start. It's a small restaurant and there are stairs and a narrow hallway to enter. Not super inspiring decor and the staff was so-so. Overall, ok but wouldn't make a special trip.
I had a friend visiting from out of the country and they requested a "real pizza experience" - and Lazzara's certainly delivered! Very cute, old world looking 2nd floor pizzeria and Italian restaurant. I only had the margarita pizza so I can't speak to anything else on the menu but it was superb. Crispy, thin, perfect amount of sauce and cheese. I would absolutely eat here again anytime.
The best pizza ever. Warm and friendly. I always look forward to going.
The best pizza ever. I am going back this Thursday again.
Service slow tonite
No extra plates for pizza after our salad offered
No room on table for three pizzas
Pizza was amazing. Service was excellent.
The food was incredible! Everything we ordered was delicious. The staff was so nice, and it wasn't crowded at all.
Fantastic hidden gem
We loved Lazarra's warm ambience with delicious thin crust pizza, and the attentive servers!
