After reading reviews and hearing about Lawry’s from both locals and visitors alike, I walked in with excitement and high expectations. I wish I could say those feelings were well met, but that’s not the case.
I made a reservation for two people at 8:45, and were promptly taken to our table a little bit early. We sat down and were greeted by our waitress, briefly, and were brought water. Following that, we weren’t spoken to for 25 minutes as the tables around us, which were sat after us, had a full introduction, ordered and received their drinks, and ordered their food.
As I was about to get up and seek out a manager, our waitress came back and said that she was “sorry” and that she thought she was “done for the night”. Very confusing, as she was the waitress for the table next to us as well. From here on out, our entire experience went downhill and felt extremely rushed.
She offered to comp an appetizer, which we had no desire for, and instead I requested that they comp a couple of glasses of wine for me and my guest, which they did and that was appreciated.
The salad had decent flavor, but was wilted and brown. The prime rib was average. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the piece I had a 6. The mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were both good and enjoyable.
I’m not sure where the ball was dropped, but there was obviously a major miscommunication between management and the waitress. Quite a strange and unfortunate experience. Trying to have a nice meal with a special guest while your waiter or waitress apologizes the entire night is not something I would want anyone to experience.
All in all, we left feeling let down and overcharged for the experience and service we had. I’d like to be able to say I’d come back, but it’s unlikely I’ll be back without someone else footing the bill.
Great food and great service. Our server, Ms. Leavitt, was absolutely outstanding. She was very open and friendly, very attentive to our needs, and very helpful in explaining our options for using our rewards points. I would be totally happy having her serve my table at all future visits.
The prime rib was cooked perfectly - could cut it with my fork - and was as delicious as always. I will continue to use Lawry's Prime Rib for all my future dates with my wife - and for any special occasion.
Lawry's never fails to impress. Great food, service and ambiance. Out server on our latest visit was Ellen, who was excellent.
Was delighted to find Lawry's serving the same amazing food at lunch with smaller portions and some lighter options. Of course, I had my standard English cut prime rib with potatoes and spinach but I also added a lobster tail and lobster bisque. It was a fabulous as always with wonderful ambiance and outstanding service.
The service, food quality and attention to detail is exceptional and makes for a very enjoyable dining experience. . As a VIP member I find the staff very friendly and willing to accommodate most requests. We recently celebrated my birthday there on a Sunday night and the free dessert was delicious and much appreciated!
We have been here multiple times when we've traveled to Vegas. We always love the prime rib. And, the creamed corn is awesome! Everyone working there is very friendly. Prices are better than the steak places that you have to pay for each side.
The employees are fantastic. The food is well worth the price A nice atmosphere. Please follow their dress code. It just makes it ba better experience. This is not fast food. Take time and enjoy the meal
The Staff at Lawry's understands that when someone walks through their doors it is an event for that guest, with the pleasant professional way you are greeted, seated and attended is an experience in itself, then there's the meal very nice cuts when you are done, while the delicious meal will remain with you for a while, the experience will remain a life time, Thank you Lawry's.
We rode by quite a few times on our way back & forth to our military reunion. I looked on open table for a time pricing $$ We knew it would be pricy but wanted to treat ourself. The meat is cut in front of you & it was delicious.
As always top notch. Staff very attentive service excellent Prime Rob the best. Thanks.
I am a high level Restaurant Senior Advior for TripAdvisor and my review can be seen on Trip Advisor, under Restaurants, Lawry's -Las Vegas. My review was to lengthy to post here, but suffice it say, that I gave it the highest possible scores, and particular thanks to Mrs. O'Brien, who provided us with exceptional service and good conversation. The entire staff was outstanding, the food was perfectly prepared and served. We appreciated the requirement for appropriate attire for dinner, and the request that gentlemen remove their hats while in the dining room. (When did baseball caps and Cowboy Hats become acceptable to remain on your head, indoors!)
The Irish Coffees after dinner were the old style, with brown sugar, Irish Whiskey and whipped cream....very strong, but very good.
I would highly recommend Lawry's for fine dining in Vegas, or at any of their locations.
Always a favorite for birthdays and anniversaries!
Lawry's fully lived up to the expectations my parents laid out for me.
The food was amazing, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was unreal.
Prime rib was very salty, Looks like it wasn’t rubbed onto the meat thoroughly. Also, the mashed potatoes was very watery. The food wasn’t kept up to the standard. Very very disappointed.
Back again for a lovely meal. My spouse and I shared the house salad, followed by a nicely prepared and presented Beef Wellington; mouth watering and absolutely cooked to perfection. This is exactly why we return to Lawry's again and again!
As good as I remembered. I will be back!
Wonderful food, presentation and service!
The steak was over cooked ordered medium rare was medium well
Likely the best prime rib in the country. The wine was a little expensive but too bad for Vegas. I recommended it to 5 other groups and they loved it too. Not bargain food but definitely worth the money considering many places in Vegas are just as expensive and not as good.
From the moment the valet opened the car door until he closed the door we had a fabulous time.
Our server Ellen spoiled us, the carver was excellent, the atmosphere was great.
We do save this restaurant for special occasions this makes everything even better.
We highly recommend Lawery's .
We were in town celebrating my friends birthday and Lawry’s was my first choice. The food and service is always excellent. The staff are very professional! I will return to Lawry’s anytime or day!
I took my family (6 of us) for dinner on a Tuesday night at 6:30. Our server was very nice. The drinks tended to take a long time even though we were ordering simple cocktails like vodka and coke and the restaurant was about 30 percent full. I’m used to outstanding bread that ends up killing my appetite at this kind of place, but the bread was very resistible. I ordered a 22 oz bone in seared version cooked medium. It was still very rare (not pink — on a regular steak I would call it rare). The baked potato, scalloped potatoes, creamed spinach were all good. The wine list was very short and outrageously overpriced even for a steakhouse which is always very overpriced. We had dessert. The banana pie was great. The chocolate fantasy cake was not the dense uber chocolate experience I was hoping for. It was chocolate light.
The bill was $530 plus tip, which is to be expected. But higher quality food was also expected but not delivered. I do no not plan to return.
Always love going to Lawry’s! Food is always excellent!!
The food was moderate. We each ordered lobster tails as an add on to our prime rib. The lobster tail was no more than the size of a large shrimp and highly overcooked, dry and tough. This was a special occasion and we had our retired parents with us. Half of our party of 6 was sick with upset stomach from the time we got home for the next 24 hours.
Needless to say, we were very unhappy with this restaurant, the meal, and the exorbitant prices they charge.
Everything was excellent. Our waiter Michael Klis was awesome!!! The Jim Brady Cut was the Best!!!
We made reservations at 7:30pm but had to wait for a table and did not get seated until 8pm. Everyone that checked in got seated within 5 mins. The food was salty and waitress was pushy. I will not be coming back to this location.
Atmosphere and service was unlike anything we have ever experienced before. We had the prime rib and steak, the chef brings your meat to your table and cuts it and prepares it in front of you. We would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends for their special occasion.
Lawry’s is very consistent with great food and awesome service.
Wonderful food! Huge portions and lovely atmosphere. Love the original waitress uniforms, it feels like you step back in time, very relaxing, old school charm, wonderful experience ❤️❤️❤️
The waiter was terrific - excellent experience
Incredible food and even more incredible service. Can’t say enough enough good things about this place.
Great Ambiance, super service and divine food. Order the prime rib. It's excelent!
Had the Corn Chowder. SPICY....the chef added cyan pepper.
YUK!!!! POTATOES runny. Prime rib YUMMY!!!!
Not impressed by the value. Too expensive for the quality. My companion and I got the same cut and both pieces were different sizes.
I went there 5 years ago and enjoyed the experience much much more.
A Las Vegas must do, great food and the staff went above there duty to make everything great!
Dinner here takes way longer then necessary, a table of 4 should be able to get in and out within an hour.
