Brunch was fantastic with excellent menu selections of food and beverage. Jules' service was personable and attentive. My Enthusiastic recommendation.
Still Best Prime Rib in Dallas! We tried this place a few years ago and still have yet to find a better place for Prime Rib.
Been to Lawry's many time over the last 20+ years, but haven't been there in several years. I was really looking forward to a great meal with my wife. The first red flag was deciding at 5pm to look for a last minute reservation and was surprised to see every available time slot for that same evening. We were seated right away which honestly, was about the only good thing I can say about the service. After waiting about 7 minutes, a server approached our table, retrieved the reservation card and turned around to discuss with another server who was at the table adjacent to us. The conversation was clearly to determine who was assigned our table with both servers portraying a very evident displeasure with each other as they argued about which one was going to have to serve us. Apparently they were both ready to get cut at 7:05pm. The server who lost and had to serve us even mentioned that because of the rain that day, she had tried to get out of work that night and didn't really want to be there. The service throughout the meal was terrible. On 4 (yes 4) occasions, we needed to ask for something but she literally did drive by's at our table and each time we had to engage other staff members. Ironically, only at the end of our meal when she gave us our bill did she engage in small talk. Pretty sure that was just because their phone lines were down and they were having to have customers total out their bill with tip prior to running the cc via an ipad application. Aside from that, the meal was just ok. I had the prime rib which was lacking flavor and I don't understand serving "mash potatoes" that were more water than potato. We also got the cream corn and in my humble opinion, it was more like a product from a can than a high end restaurant. $7 for a small portion of corn...it should be fantastic. My wife had the ribeye which was average, but better than the prime rib. Overall, disappointed at their obvious decline from a once amazing food experience.
Lawry’s is always great. You can always count on very good food and exceptional service.
We got a quick burger & truffle fries in the bar for $10. A great deal.
Food was mediocre at best.
We were visiting Texas and wanted to go out for anniversary thought this would be a great place to go. Very disappointing, Prime Rib was not great and I ordered a cauliflower side dish which was terrible (and I love cauliflower) They didn’t offer to comp it even though we didn’t eat it, to be fair I didn’t ask them to. But it would’ve been nice if they would have offered. Unfortunately we will not go back to Lawry’s The food was definitely not quality enough to warrant the price.
Prime rib is the best. Our server was very personable and efficient. A wonderful Mother’s Day experience
Lawry’s is still one of the best restaurants in DFW. Other than the location, it’s one of our favorites. The prime rib and service are outstanding.
Service is not what I usually expected for Lawry's. I t was mothers day but I don't
know if that was the reason. I remember they used to keep your water and iced teas filled but
today I had to ask almost every time. Food was good.
This used to be such a great special occasion restaurant. Now it is mediocre & frankly, disappointing.
The food was great, but we were very disappointed to be told (after being seated) that they were only serving the dinner menu all day, rather than brunch at 11:00am on a Sunday, because it was a holiday (Mother’s Day). This would have been very nice to know when making the reservation or when they called to confirm the reservation, as we were expecting a much different meal. We were not the only ones taken by surprise and disappointed by the lack of communication.
Anthony provided superb service. It was a wonderful evening celebrating a family birthday.
outstanding food and service. Prime rib cooked to perfection...crab cakes and eggs superb...salad was cool, crisp and colorful....deserts to die for....service was Supernatural...Ms Miller (our server) catered to our every dining want and need...and did so with charm and wit....Karen ( The Manager) stopped by our table and always makes us feel like a part of the Lawry's Family. It's a dining experience we treasure...keeps us coming back each month since 1988 !!!
Over all was very good. Been coming for years. My issue with this trip was that there was only 1 Carver on duty. This really delayed our meal. Hope they can fix this for the future.
From the spot-on service by our waiter, Ross, to the appetizers through dessert, this was a great dining experience. The shrimp fritters were AMAZING. Prime rib done perfectly. The best chocolate martini I have had in years. All at a reasonable price, considering the quality and atmosphere.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
Prime rib is wonderful, Atmosphere nice and quiet for conversation.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my father-in-laws 94th Birthday!
Gracious and attentive service. Excellent food. A traditional favorite for our family!
Everyone says how wonderful the prime rib is here & they are 100% correct. Absolutely delicious & cooked to perfection. Definitely the place for this cut of beef. OUTSTANDING. Nice wine list, pricey but good.
Travis, our waiter, was great, as usual and the prime rib was wonderful.
Had not been to Lawry's for lunch in a long while. Very disappointing experience for dad's 90th birthday. It was always his favorite. They use to send him their signature salt/pepper on his birthday. We would have had an equal experience at another restaurant for a third the price. Not sure I can even think about going back for dinner.
Lawrys is one of my favorite restaurants. However, I didn't feel that Sunday was up to the usual 5 star level. Our table was off to the side with sides that slanted down. The waitress brought napkins to even out our plates. Rather odd for a nice restaurant. The shrimp fritters seemed overcooked. The Yorkshire pudding was a small piece rather than splitting a pan between two people. The cake after dinner for birthdays was a very nice gesture, but it was dry and not the usual treat. Meat and potatoes were good.
We also had to wait quite a while between salad and main course - and two people at our table had ordered something other than prime rib and theirs came out before the prime rib... so cooled off while waiting for prime rib. I still love Lawrys but this was not our best experience.
Lawrys is a must for brunch. We started with the crab cakes, which was excellant. Then came the spinning bowl salad, which was great. Served on chilled plates and even the salad fork was chilled. For main course we had prime rib, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Prime rib was flavorful as was the spinach. Actually, they were the best I ever had. We finished off with the legendary banana coconut cream pie. Plus, free flowing champagne.
Our server, Marquise was AWESOME!!!! Very attentive, professional and friendly.
Little less lighting to give a little more relaxed atmosphere. Crying babies should not be acceptable for other couples spending $200+ for a evening out.
We go to Lawry's a lot and the last 2 times we have been there the food was not good. Prime rib was chewy and full of fat. This last visit I had a filet and it was not good. Normally that is my "go to" steak. It was chewy and not and the flavor was not good. My husband had prime rib again and part was okay, but the other side was not.
The food was excellent and our server Patrick was awesome! I was celebrating my birthday with some friends I plan on returning very soon for a date night with my husband.
To start off....I pretty much consider myself a beef expert. Exhibitor of champion market steers from several midwest state fairs and yes one time at Ft. Worth. Ate at many steak houses in the US, Europe, Argentina, and Japan.
I seriously think my cut of prime rib would only make the "good" grade. Definitely not Prime, and not Choice grade. Devoid of any marbling.....dry. The rind (outside of Prime rib with spices) is the best part of the meat and was inedible! An example of a clod of Prime rib that has been on the roaster for too long....and I suspect being grass fed, because the lack of marbling. Very disappointed! No amount of au jou dumped on the beef will make it tender! The photos were not the same as my cut.
FOOD WAS SUPERIOR - TURKEY , STUFFING, POTATOES, CREAM SPINACH ALL OUTSTANDING...SERVICE WAS SUPERNATURAL - BRAD (OUR SERVER) CATERED TO OUR EVERY DINING NEED AND DID SO WITH WIT AND CHARM. PECAN PIE FOR DESERT WAS TO DIE FOR. VALUE FOR A MEAL LIKE THAT WAS AMAZING. IT WAS A DINING EXPERIENCE WE TREASURE. WE WILL BE BACK SOON.
The wine dinner was overpriced -- would better off with regular menu. Service not up to par due to admittedly "working us in" between large private parties. Need ramp at entrance -- even valet did not help me down curb (handicapped lady,) but nice patron nearby helped me down and into car. If in a wheelchair, I would not have made it. ADA violation??
Awesome ! Server, food and atmosphere was wonderful
Great service from Ross, and delicious prime rib, pork chop, spinach, dates, hot fudge sundae. Always enjoy our Lawry's dinners.
Service was amazing but the room was cold and the food was just warm and got cold fast.
My family has loved Lawry's for years. We as a family haven't been there in a while, so I thought Easter would be fun. Reservation for 10. Greeted promptly and went down hill from there. Service was slow and not attentive. Wine service took about 15 minutes. Ordered dinner, kids (4)food came out at 3 different times. Adult food arrived over a 10 minute time frame. What made it worse, the food, all, came out COLD. Never happened before! Sent some back which delayed all enjoying eating together. Kids wanted desert, so we ordered. Amazingly it was the best part. Total bill was almost $ 800. without tip, which was expected as we have been there several times. The restaurant was busy but not packed, but staff seemed dazed and confused. Just strange. The quality of the prime rib was no where near the usual quality. Sad, just sad. I do not stiff waiters, left a $200. tip. I just won't be back. Sad, as it has always been a favorite.
Great as usual!!
The prime rib was tough and the the vegetables were cold. Our water was very forgettable and the drinks were horrible. The bread was overcooked. I was very disappointed in my service
As always it was fabulous
Marquis (Mr. Jones) provided exceptional service. It was a busy Easter Sunday but he took the time to walk us through the menu. He even let our 6 yo daughter “spin” the salad. Dining with 3 children at a restaurant is often a challenge, but he made the experience enjoyable.
The prime rib wasn't as good as it usually is, a little tough. Everything else was wonderful.
