Lawry's The Prime Rib - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I brought his mother and a friend since Jr HS to celebrate her 87th birthday. Kenon was in training and did a wonderful job of making the ladies feel special. We were so excited to have the addition of the carolers serenading throughout the evening. Food, wine and special dessert were beyond perfect! We started with a cheese board. The bacon jam was delicious. 3 enjoyed the prime rib while I enjoyed the lobster tales. Cream spinach was ordered to share among the table. It was a lovely, festive evening. Thank you!
I've eaten at Lawry's (starting in LA) in several of your locations around the country. However, in this location there always seems to be an attitude of "please hurry up and finish your meal." I don't appreciate it all. Never had that feeling in the other locations.
I took my twin sons to dinner for their 18th birthday. It was just as delicious as I remembered, and we had a great evening! The ambiance was even better than usual as it was the beginning of December and it was decorated for the holidays and there were strolling Acapella carolers. Our waiter Travis went out of his way to make us feel special, and we did!
A highly anticipated evening for a birthday celebration was marred by extremely poor service throughout the course of the evening. Ashley was our server, with routine requests commonly taking 10-15 minutes to accommodate. Our party did not even see her in the dining room for extended periods of time. We have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions in the past, with the typical duration of dinner ranging from 75 to 90 minutes. On this particular occasion, primarily due to continual service lapses, our meal for a party of three people took 2 1/2 hours.
In addition to substandard service, we noted a certain coldness from the bus persons on duty, with the gentleman serving our area of the main dining room extremely unfriendly, which was very unbecoming of a fine dining establishment.
Thankfully, the quality of the food helped salvage the evening, with the salads, prime rib and desserts consistent with our past experiences.
We came to have a birthday dinner, and having been to Lawry's on previous occasions, knew what to expect. Our server, Ashley, was friendly and quite willing to share with us her menu favorites. The wedge salad and Caesar salad were excellent, and the prime rib, served tableside, was perfectly cooked. Pecan pie was a good ending to a great meal. We'll definitely be back!
Food was excellent as always. This time our service was just average and not up to Lawry’s standards. Our server seemed disjointed - we had a lot of ‘downtime’ waiting for our server. We had to wait on bread, drinks and knives. I noticed the other table she waited on experienced the same service - they were looking around for her a lot as well. Does not impact our decision to come back but just not up to your usual standards.
Usually we have great service but this thanksgiving the young man dropped off bread and said he would be back after serving a spinning bowl salad.i had to sit there for quite some time without a beverage. When he finally returned he did not greet us he just asked us if we were ready to order. The food as usual was great..then at dessert we ordered the hot fudge sundae..he put the whipped cream and nuts on the ice cream and then poured the hot fudge on it. It was weird and I was less than pleased. He could not find my lawrys account. He did not seem very interested in finding it...when we went in July the server had no issues...i usually love lawrys but this time they did not put their best foot forward.
We chose Lawrys for the Thanksgiving dinner event. We were very disappointed with the service. It was a long time before the server came to the table after we were seated and then it was long periods in between the salads, taking our order and bringing the meals. One member of our group ordered the 1/2 chicken. She got a plate with 2 legs and thighs. She questioned the server regarding no breast meat and the server tried to make it sound like this was the normal entree. After further questioning and complaining the server agreed to tell the kitchen to provide a breast, but it would be 10 to 12 minutes. In the meantime everyone else had their food, which was lukewarm. We requested a manager who agreed that the chicken dish was not correct. After we ate our meal we waited a very long time with dishes still sitting on the table. We finally asked for a manager again. We arrived there at 5:00pm and finally talked to the 2nd manager at 7:00pm. At that point we decided to skip the desert and coffee and just leave. We won't go back there again. As a side note, we also went to Lawry's 2 years ago for Thanksgiving. It was a disappointing experience then, very chaotic, unorganized, etc. This year we wanted to try it again but we won't go back. We were also celebrating a birthday which was overshadowed by the drama of the poor service. Note: I do not blame the server. This is a horrible management problem. There should have been plenty of servers to serve the number of guests. Yes, we did receive a comp amount, however, we would rather have had the nice celebration, good food, etc, and paid the full amount.
We were a family of 12 from age 20 to75 and were provided 2 servers. We were there to celebrate Thanksgiving and had 2:45 pm reservations at the Dallas Lawrys. Primarily due to slow service, our meal took 3 hours. I sat at the end of the assembled table which was not level, therefore, I spent a significant portion of our time together balancing my plate to prevent the au jus from spilling out onto my lap.
I am a frequent diner at Lawry's and was very disappointed.
The Yorkshire Pudding was overdone to the point of burned. No French wines that I could find and the waiter was of no help. In fact after the meat was served, that was about the last we saw of him. The meat was tougher than we have had it previously. We had the feeling that this Lawery's was on a down hill slope. Sorry.
We went to Lawrys Prime Rib for a birthday dinner for my son in law. It was our first time and the waitress was very helpful in explaining the food selections and what sides came with the
prime rib. After dinner we were offered coffee and the dessert Menu was offered. The atmosphere was relaxed and we never felt rushed. Would recommend Lawrys to anyone wanting, great food, wonderful staff, and relaxed atmosphere.
My daughter took my wife and I out for our anniversary. Turkey dinners were outstanding and the deserts were to die for. SERVICE was outstanding. Ms. Miller is the very best. She always caters to our every dining want and need..she knows just what to do and is always cheerful. We just love her.
Our server, Patrick was absolutely wonderful. Pleasant, friendly and gave a spot-on recommendation for the creme brûlée.
Our steaks were prepared to perfection. The filet melted in my mouth. Patrick brought out a sample of their horseradishes as we had never been to Lawry’s before and he wanted us to try it. I tried the mild version. It was a perfect complement to my filet.
If I ever find myself in the area again I would not hesitate to visit Lawry’s again.
